FS 2.0 Tier System?

The rule of 30 days with no more than 2 punishments might work for a small gang of 10 members, but it's impractical for larger gangs like Rooks, Lost MC, OTF, ESM, Irish, etc. In larger gangs, we all have a few close friends who occasionally get punished. To rank up in the tiers, we’ll be forced to choose between staying with our friends and never ranking up or kicking them out to climb the tier system

As is being said, I think people just need to focus less on jumping into things and more on developing solid groups of people who you can A. Trust to have an understanding of the rules that won't violate the new ruleset created by FM and B. Are willing to hold off on doing something if you can't be 100% sure. ENVY's been kicking about for 16 months and we've had four punishments issued across that time. We have to constantly watch what we're doing to ensure it isn't cop baiting and that we aren't utilising unrealistic tactics to cause havoc upon LEO, although it's obviously different from the roleplay of the groups you mention in this quote, I am sure those groups can hold their members to the same standard that we've managed to.

As a faction leader, the amount of unnecessary stress this will add to try to keep 30 members in check at all times 24/7 in order for all our time, energy and progress not to be ruined is just crazy.

If these are the people you're spending time with every day for months upon months, I'd like to hope you grasp their character and whether they are the kind of person you can trust without them having to be managed 24/7. Plus I think we'll see the leniency involved with this rule when FM goes live, but am open to it changing if we're seeing gangs punished for small or insignificant rule violations.

Suggestions for Improvement:
Promotion Criteria Adjustments: Adjusting the criteria to focus more on in-game activity and positive contributions rather than strict rule adherence could foster a more engaging and less disciplinary environment. We all know there's going to be gangs reporting eachother so they demote them in tiers.

Looks like petty reports are being reprimanded more then we've seen in previous years, but I agree with you here that we'll start seeing groups less likely to engage with other groups over the fear of forum wars. That being said, I'd like to hope everyone understands we're here to have fun at the end of the day and even if you feel something was a bit shitty, not everything has to end up on the forums, you can always reach out and resolve things privately.

Clearer Guidelines and Transparency: Ensuring that guidelines for what constitutes "poor RP standards" and "poor OOC attitude" are clear and consistently applied can help reduce bias and unfair demotions.

100% here, would love some communication, certainly in the early stages of FM 2.0, regarding promotions & demotions and the things that made those groups stand out, either for good or bad, so that we can gain a greater understanding of the finer details regarding what FM are looking for.

I don't think people realize that you will reach the ability to import .50s with this system faster now than previously. This is a shortcut to make it more accessible a gang to have the quality of life aspects that being official has. This isnt to make assets easier (or harder) to obtain. Sit the fuck down, look at the damn update and actually READ IT before going off on a tangent.

It used to take almost a YEAR if not longer to become official. Now you can become official in what? 2 months. That was a YEAR if not longer (depending on if you came in as a tier 2 or tier 1 faction) before you could order a .50 shipment. NOW you'll be able to order .50s a LOT earlier.

Stop looking at the god damn numbered tiers in such a skittish way. Its gonna be easier to rise through the tier system. You guys got a fucking crazy good update and I know someone like Collie/Chrisy put in a ton of input thinking about YOU mfs but then you same mfs will sit here and be ungrateful and full on panic mode without realizing how much of a positive step this is.

____

On another note, the fact that a lot of you are blatantly calling the .50 a "meta gun" and feel so god damn entitled to using it is actually a shame considering a lot of those same people will be the first to accuse others of "playing to win". Its beautiful irony honestly.

In my opinion, having the .50 in a high tier is not really a problem as the old official factions can still order it for you.

The only little thing tbh would be the 2 punishments per month for a faction of 30 members I feel it's really a small number especially if the situation wasn't involving multiple members but only one who would impact the whole gang cause of his own actions that's why I think that maybe having 4 punishments during a month is a fair number but of course there could be exceptions such as the severe rule breaks etc.

I do wonder from some of these reactions whether people consider that they might be the problem, or not.
I've had a lot to say about faction management over the years and I don't think it's perfect by any stretch.

I've had my fair share of run-ins with Aldarine and Bakmeel over the past couple of years, let me tell you. I haven't always agreed with their stance on things or their decision making. I'm not about to glaze either of them.

At the same time though, what the fuck do people want? Same thing goes with the developers.
They don't do anything, people complain. They start doing things, people complain. Literally, damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I think in all honesty, you should give FM 2.0 at least a few months to see how it fits and if a significant portion of people are unhappy then FM need to have the flexibility to make changes and improvements.

What I'm quickly learning though, is there is not a specific way of doing anything in Eclipse that doesn't upset someone. It's easy to point the finger if you aren't having to make any kind of decision yourself.

I think this is a better system that was there before. As someone who was a part of FM for a long while and has seen how it works on both sides I really think this is a good change and a good stepping and starting zone. Rome was not built in a day and this will not be perfect day but its a good start. I really hope we get more different types of gangs again that care more than just shooting.

Back in my day we rolled with empty pistols and prayed we could come up with catching people lacking in fear rp to get some .50s. These youth got no hunger and drive.
