Mortem
Now that boats work we should use Cayo Perico, every gang gets a message from cartel, "Our shipment of goods has been taken by the blah blah blah cartel, we need you to retrieve it, which ever gang gets it and brings it to blah blah blah can keep it." I think a drop with some rare weapons like snipers, stingers, a bunch of .50s and overall something that's worth sacrificing 50 guys with heavies would be fun. I'm not sure how PD would be involved in all this but I'm sure they can and will figure out a way to involve themselves.

Quietthecutie
a tentative +1. would essentially be a giant battle royale event at Cayo with all the gangs hunting for that chicken dinner. my concerns would be the potential for toxic interactions, petty reports, the fact only large gangs can realistically compete as large gangs would bring everyone they got, so realistically you got 4-5 platoons moving around cayo fighting eachother. the distribution of specialist weaponry (i absolutely do not think marksmen rifles should be a reward) and the violence spilling onto the main island.
IAmTurtle
-1. I don't think the server has changed enough in a positive manner for this to be done by the event team. While I love the idea I think it would just lead to massive shootouts again which really does not bring any sort of new RP.
Mortem
I believe there is a misunderstanding, there is certainly no more then 2 gangs in ECRP right now who can produce 15+ members at one time, secondly, for smaller gangs, it is very simple, it will lead to RP that will either force them to team up, be smart (such as waiting for the aftermath of the fight or attempting to steal the loot in another way), or other methods that should be available through RP. Secondly, 'massive shootouts that do not bring any sort of new RP', and the fact that the server has not 'changed enough in a positive manner'. The reason the server hasn't changed in a positive manner is because there is absolutely nothing for crims to do, the number of crims on the server has RAPIDLY, MASSIVELY decreased, while the number of LEOs has increased in inverse proportion. If you want to make a positive change to the server, you have to try new shit, what's worse, trying new shit and failing or doing absolutely nothing and continuing to fail anyways? @IAmTurtle Would you rather watch the crim count dwindle to zero without trying anything? WHAT IS FACTION MANAGEMENT DOING? I don't understand, we were promised changes that never happened. I genuinely do not understand what is so difficult about introducing RP opportunities to Crims? Is it that hard that it takes 4 years to come up with an idea, or is it simply the fact that no attempts are being made. SCRIPT SIDE: There is already a script for drops, that's all that is needed, the rest can all be done ICly. Tweaks: There shouldn't be heavy weapons in there, maybe one rare weapon like a sniper and the rest should be money or drugs. 'This does not bring any new RP' - Gang A has 5 people, Gang B has 5 people, Gang C has 5 people and Gang D has 20 people, it is only natural taht Gang A, B and C would attempt to team up to bring down Gang D in exchange for a reward, at the moment it is literally impossible for other gangs to compete against bigger gangs due to back up breach, this is the duality of back up breach, as it was intended to stop big gangs rallying together (against PD of course) but in reality it just stops smaller gangs from teaming up against bigger gangs, solidifying the monopoly that they have. Since drops in cayo perico would be an event, it would introduce a possibility for smaller gangs to work together while avoiding back up breach. Finally, I'd like to say that over the 5 long years that I've played the server I've rarely EVER seen Crim Suggestions even get taken seriously by admins. I'll answer for him... Remember the Plane crash? Remember the Money Transport Event? It's been done twice, both situations ended up as effectively Purge Night moments for the server, There is a reason they haven't done them again, and it's because the mentality regarding this hasn't gotten better, it's gotten worse. More and more Crims are shooting first and asking questions later. Now the GTA events FM were doing? Goated, Great, That was a successful concept, because there were IC stakes such as getting your shit rocked by The Cartel if you drew attention to them. You had a reason to follow the rules set forth by them. What's the incentive to follow Cartel rules here? None. You're in the middle of the ocean on a deserted island 30 deep amongst at most 10 factions. Lag would be hell, DM would be rampant, and there's literally 0 reason for ANYONE to follow IC rules laid out, So naturally some more trigger happy players will inevitably catch Punishments. If you can figure out a way to account for Lag and C0ing, and then the fact that people play this server like a game of Search and Destroy on Afghan, Then perhaps there's be more support. -

Have you not been paying attention to the Development logs? I guess things are just moving too slowly for your fast paced liking. Shame that change doesn't happen overnight. 2 hours ago, Mortem said: SCRIPT SIDE: There is already a script for drops, that's all that is needed, the rest can all be done ICly An automated script that has predetermined locations. You can't just say "Okay Drop go at these coordinates yeeet" It doesn't work like that. 2 hours ago, Mortem said: Tweaks: There shouldn't be heavy weapons in there, maybe one rare weapon like a sniper and the rest should be money or drugs. If weapons, Things that can already be ordered, but in a decently large amount, such as Pistols, No special weapons or heavies unless it's offered by the Cartel specifically in return for recovering the goods. Or just make it Ammo, Kevlar, and Attachments.
