RocketInAPocket Posted February 6, 2024 Report Posted February 6, 2024 Hello everyone! With the new games out I think it would be a neat switch-up to have the poker table in DOC removed for a Black Jack table instead! It would be nice to shake things up a bit in there. 1 Quote
Ash Posted February 6, 2024 Report Posted February 6, 2024 How would you envision the house/dealer working in doc? Since the current implementation of blackjack doesn’t quite work player vs player? Quote
Requiem Posted February 7, 2024 Report Posted February 7, 2024 Following the point made above by Ash, it doesn't make much sense to have blackjack in prison. Poker is just cards between players without having a house issuing cards. Quote

Gambling isn't really allowed in US prisons aside from a prison in Nevada that actually had a casino for inmates at one point. So, really, you might ask well make it worth while to participate in by adding one of the casino games to the prison for stamps. For anyone that will say prison isn't supposed to be fun, it's also from a game experience not supposed to boring either. I'm sure @Chunder and company would rather deal with the odd fight over Blackjack than bored people doing anything and everything to alleviate their boredom. Just stick this guy as the dealer. If you want an RP back story, just say he's a trustee that Kourtney has hired for prisoner recreation. Quote

You can even adjust the "lore" that this guy is apart of a group of people who are life sentencers, the ones who "RPly" run DOC internally as inmates, and they've built up a sort of "internal treasury" that's inaccessible to anyone. Big +1 as someone who works in corrections irl, people will gamble all of the time there’s not anything you can truly do about it, they will make their own dice and gamble or make home made cards, I’ve seen a lot of what they can do. Having the idea of an rp Lifer trustee that can handle the quote on quote table, would be a great way to introduce unique rp. Now a down side I see is inmates retaliating and fighting others for the (what I would assume “stamps” that they are gambling with) could bring rule breaks and a big headache for the guards making there difficult job even more so especially when the prison has a lot of players it can make it a lot easier for inmates to attack guards or other inmates. ( I know there are server rules in play at DOC but it could cause more headache than it’s worth) but with all that being said atleast trying it could have a positive impact for the player base allowing them the urge to compete over laundry, litter, stamps, Etc. bringing a new life to DOC’s RP. Worst case scenario that I see is they remove it due to a lot of rule breaks associated with the new game and/or to much going on at once for the DOC guards to realistically handle. Logitexum Posted March 21, 2025 Report Posted March 21, 2025 (edited) Yeah, the mechanics can be tricky at times. I noticed that some dealers seem to have weird patterns, and it's hard to tell if it's just bad luck or something else. If you're into real-world games, high-quality non-UK slot sites accepting UK players are worth looking into. They offer a bunch of options with fair odds, and you’re not stuck with just one way to play. Edited March 25, 2025 by Logitexum Quote
Quietthecutie Posted March 21, 2025 Report Posted March 21, 2025 Once again, i would be down for literally any content to be added to DOC. literally anything. i will take anything i can get right now. anything will do. DOC has had nothing added other than cosmetic changes for years and its actually regressed when they lost their poker table so yeah any contributions would be appriciated. DOC has turned into a glorified afk petting zoo due to the nerfs to tickets and the removal of the poker table basically negating any interest people may have had to engage in prison RP so like a man dying of thirst being passed a sweat soaked gymsock, anything would help. PrexDal Posted March 21, 2025 Report Posted March 21, 2025 +1 to the idea of adding anything new to do in DOC, but not so broken people imprison themselves on purpose Quote
