Bro legit stop spamming the topic it will get looked into it takes time for it.. please

Bro, legit this is the most popular suggestion here, you can obviously see that this feature is highly demanded and it does not seem to be recognized at all by management.

Also take a glance at the rest of the topics & sub-forums, management doesn't respond and it seems like good suggestion are lost with time if not up'd by someone.

Sorry if I spammed you, this isn't for a personal gain but an enhancement for everyone

I totally understand I’m trying too teach how things run here man.. it takes the development time to doo everything due to the existing commands and their more busy on other things.

So it's pretty much simple I really think if you do have permanent keys to vehicle you should be able to repair it

I have keys to my friend's vehicle but if I mess it up I can't just leave it broke generally not good thing to do and currently there are only 3 options.

1- Get it towed

2- Leave it broken

3- Email the friend on gov and have him log on for this

I think we can have as mechanics

/mechoffer [Number] [Labour] OPTIONAL [ID]

So it charges someone the amount for the repair and do it even if he isn't the owner but if he has keys to it if the game can detect who has keys and who doesn't which I think it does.

If there is anything simpler I'd say suggest it if it's even possible.

Been suggested a dozen times. already heavily +1ed, either its a script limitation, its on the todo list, or the devs have decided it would be bad for the balance of the server.

I had to bring it out once more since I haven't seen it before or forgotten I'd really appreciate if this gets added

Or the repair can just be sent to the driver, regardless of the ownership of the vehicle.

I don't see why someone wouldn't be able to repair a vehicle they have keys to. Or for that matter, any vehicle at all, even stolen ones. It's not like LSC can check whether a vehicle is stolen or not..
Just increases the RP scenarios where cops can look at CCTV from mechanics in case a car was spotted around there.

  • Who is the suggestion for?
    - All vehicle owners
  • Why is the suggestion being made?
    -  When you give keys to others they cannot repair your car, only yourself can, this makes giving permanent keys useless, and some avoid using other people's cars at all because of this and fearing they will damage it and can't repair.

  • What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion?
    - Pros: Repair your friend's car without bothering them and even when they're offline.
    - Cons: If you give repair permission to the wrong person, they can steal it and keep driving it forever instead of leaving it when its damaged.

  • How should the suggestion be implemented?

Rework /givekey command to include option for repair permission

/giveKey (id) [permanent] [can repair]

I believe the reason this has not been implemented is to stop gangs/large organisations basically pooling all their vehicles, giving all their members keys and then a player can use any of them and repair it like they owned it even if the player it belongs to barely logs in and contributes to the server. The current repair system puts the brakes on that somewhat by requiring the owner to take the time to get the vehicle and repair it themselves.

I dont really think this is is really that big an issue. most gangs do this anyway then just park the cars when they are to damaged till the person repairs it.

Cars despawn 2 hours after the owner logs out and if no one in the vehicle anyways, so i dont expect gangs to be in the car 24/7
