Demonmit1 Posted December 10, 2023 Report Posted December 10, 2023 (edited) Litter and trash is everywhere in Lost Santos and the surrounding state. Citizens regularly leave their empty drink containers strewn about on the ground once they are finished drinking their contents without a care in the world for the health of the city's ecosystems. I would love to see a new business open up within San Andreas where individuals can bring their empty drink containers to be recycled, and provided a cash back incentive for doing so. a vast amount of these trash items are useless and get discarded by players onto the ground to despawn. the only "trash" item that seems to have a use is the empty water bottle. i would love to see a new sell point created where players can sell empty bottles and cups for money. obviously these buy back prices will be low, and they would have to be lower than wholesale pricing of buying the full item in the first place, but it would give a new potential source of income for players, cleaning up other players trash. could also be a place that would accept litter and dirty laundry that accidently get smuggled out of DOC. could also implement new "trash" items that are produced from eating food. a lot of these food items would have wrappers or boxes they come in, so having a new "empty burger box" or "sandwich wrapper" item created after finishing a food item would be great to go along side this "recycling center" update as GTA V is heavily based on California, the system in real life is already there - link its so common for places to have cash available for soda cans, glass bottles, food tin cans, etc, it would make a lot of sense to implement that in game Edited December 10, 2023 by Demonmit1 1 Quote
Night Posted November 21, 2024 Report Posted November 21, 2024 I think this would be a great idea. Especially the recycling center! If possible I think it would be a great way to provided immersion and RP instead of just leaving bottles on the ground. Quote
Diligo Posted November 21, 2024 Report Posted November 21, 2024 (edited) I will have to be a little disrespectful here. So if this offends OP or anyone else, feel free to report my reply and admins will decide upon my fate. Here it goes - Don't like trash? Take the cans and put them somewhere away. Maybe even a trash bin. If it bothers you so much! I do that! Though I don't need people paying me money just so I could be clean and tidy! I do it out of sheer will of wanting no trash laying around which does annoy me. But I do it so it would be nice and clean!!! I also do not want people breaking my immersion just because they see 10$/100$/200$ can laying around and they need to quickly run to the recycling machine to get those dollars. It is pathetic and a waste of time and will damage roleplay. I have seen people standing over a dead body after a shootout deciding whether to take the gps and drop it in pawnshop or take the water bottle so they dont need to buy another bottle at the store. So stupid. What is the point of making Devs/Modders work extra just to implement a small 10$ money scheme? Now - I understand this was a suggestion and you should not be bullied for suggesting, but this idea is unironically total trash! Would love to hear everyone else's thoughts. Own a resturaunt? have busboys on staff to collect the trash and bottles for reimbursement on the cost of food for the company. every player at some level would interact with this system, since everyone needs to eat or drink. giving more things to do isnt a bad thing, and as i said in this old suggestion, theres real life examples of how this works linked. GodDammitKopi Posted November 21, 2024 Report Posted November 21, 2024 Fun idea. Would give people who RP as a homeless person an option to get a small amount of money. 1 1 Quote
astrx Posted November 21, 2024 Report Posted November 21, 2024 Could also implement dumpster diving too which would have a loot table that could be recycled. (If this has been said already im sorry, there is a lot of text) Quote

I will have to HEAVILY disagree with this reply. I do believe that this could improve roleplay and bring more interaction between players. This could make a union or even a clean up event where players band together to clean the city. There are many avenues that something like this could take. In the future when replying to suggestions, give your criticism, do not outright call a suggestion trash, all players are able to make their suggestions and other players can reply to them with praise or concern, try being a little bit better worded next time. 1 Quote

Diligo Posted November 21, 2024 Report Posted November 21, 2024 I have had a change of mind. Crims would have a lot of fun roleplaying with this. Especially when a beefing enemy faction member has been kidnapped. +1 to this suggestion Quote
Prezeey Posted November 22, 2024 Report Posted November 22, 2024 I only find my men when I am near dumpsters... lots of positive things could come from this. Would be cool to be able to pull unique furniture as well that could be used to decorate a place. Quote
Teenyinnit Posted December 4, 2024 Report Posted December 4, 2024 I love this. It’s a mechanic that already exists in game (prison) so it shouldn’t be too hard and it’s also a Civ idea so it gives something to legal citizens Quote
Danny_V Posted December 4, 2024 Report Posted December 4, 2024 I'd love this. There's a car park a lot of my roleplay sessions start/end in and there's quite a bit of trash in there aswell. That trash bothers me quite a bit and if there would be a way to get rid of it I would 100% be an advocate for it. Having the option of encountering a dumpster diver and tipping them to "go check out that area" could be a positive little interaction for both parties. 1 Quote
