beedog743 Posted December 18, 2022 Report Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) Just like any irl road work, there are typically vehicles with amber stobes going. Plenty of close calls of people speeding on by as I cower for my life trying to get a barricade set up. I would like to see the implementation of some sort of safety vehicle with amber strobes or light at to help warn oncoming traffic of a work zone. Of course keep the transport trucks as the road worker job can become quite popular, but add the safety vehicle for player choice. Either it could be an suv or pickup truck. Possibilities are endless. Attached image for better understanding. Edited December 18, 2022 by beedog743 Quote
Requiem Posted December 19, 2022 Report Posted December 19, 2022 +/- 1 While I like the suggestion if it were used properly, half the time the roadworkers don't seem to care about the RP of the situation and they are just there to grind for cash. They just park their vehicles in the middle of the road and run to setup as many barricades as possible. If it were used properly, this would be a +1 from me. Quote

I deffinately know what you’re talking about. The road worker job can sometimes get like the Wild West. However there are deffinately still a lot of good people that do the job and do it correctly. I think a big thing that would mitigate that issue in reguards to people acting crazy is IF they would allow for each one of the barricade interactions etc to be able to be tag teamed etc and maybe split the payment between everyone. Or add a second incident or so based off of the current amount of players in the job. Essentially they player count in the job reaches a certain amount it would trigger 2 incidents to spawn thus mitigating everyone’s need to be the first one there to try to make as much money as possible. Purely Posted December 27, 2022 Report Posted December 27, 2022 +1! I like this idea overall, yes there is risks of those who are still understanding RP to make mistakes, but ECRPs rules would cover this. It might make scenes a little more diverse and enjoyable. 1 Quote
Smoke1 Posted February 18, 2023 Report Posted February 18, 2023 +1 ive ran over so many road workers by accident. and ive also been victim of being hit and tipping over in the not ideal work trucks available now Quote
XxTheIrishGuyxX Posted February 18, 2023 Report Posted February 18, 2023 +1. When the road workers were first released, you had the option for a truck similar to this without the lights. Not sure why they took it away. We are supposed to have a realistic RP server, but road workers are driving around with transport vehicles. Quote
Jett_J Posted February 18, 2023 Report Posted February 18, 2023 Cool concept but road workers don't use their trucks properly so there is no point. They'll set up traffic directions but then block off the only lane with their trucks because they all want to race to get the most cones/barriers set up. If they just park the trucks in the middle of the road blocking off everything I have doubt people will be able to use this new truck properly Quote
Kjaer Posted March 12, 2023 Report Posted March 12, 2023 This truck was apart of the road worker load out originally, however it was removed as the low amount of vehicle spots didnt promote the group workplace roleplay that staff had wanted from the job. Perhaps roadworkers should be able to place down a strobe prop which would automatically be removed once an incident ends, or some lighting can be added to the current incidents just in case they take place during the night which is entirely possibly. Zero_0 Posted April 11, 2023 Report Posted April 11, 2023 as a fellow roadworker i support this idea. there are some people who just grind as road workers but some of the guys are also getting sick of getting ran over by a car going 180/mph while placing a cone that will cover them. hence why trucks are in the middle of the road sometimes... it deters people just randomly doing a hit and run and honestly you really wouldn't want to hit a big ass truck while flying down the road going 40 over the speed limit anyways. safety vehicles would help in this case making it so that they could redirect traffic while also having another form of rp and might also incentives working for PD. the only problem i would have with this is having 1 road worker and 14 people working road safety instead. i guess just have a limit on how many people is able to or assign a random worker.
