Said Khan Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 (edited) Since we have hot discussion on discord about taxes and there is mixed opinions about it right now, new people need to grind a lot to get money and rich old players don't even need to work any more. So i have a suggestion about taxes, since now our taxes have zero RP and i found them not fair. I suggest to make tax office and let people RP paying their taxes or even evade tax pay. Taxes should be on salary also but not that big (we need to make new players comfortable here, to stay longer) but it should be low percent taxes on salary. Salary taxes should be taken automatically like it was before. Main taxes should be on wealth player have, bank money, vehicles and type of it, real estate and business. Those taxes should be paid lets say every IRL week (time can be changed) via Tax office. Also if player forget to pay but come to pay his taxes past the date he should, he should get fine, but not punishment. Why we need that? it will make more content, new government job, such as tax collector and investigators. Plus it gives a lost of RP scenarios, people can come and pay their taxes or try to hide and avoid paying it. If tax evaders get caught they will get big fine and prison time, plus not regular criminal record, but finance criminal record. So this is my suggestion, feel free to add something, say your opinion. Edited September 28, 2018 by Said Khan 1 3
HighJack Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 +1. Huge taxes really is pointless right now since the tax money doesn’t go anywhere. If it does, the hourly welfare should increase since from what I think is the only place that it should go to. A Mayorial system would be awesome though, and he has the power to manipulate taxes, add projects in San Andreas (idk how, but they might come up with something) increase/decrease the salary of all personnel in a gov faction depending on their need for it, or basing it on their performance. IDK something like that. There’s a lot of things to be done though.
Wifye Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 While the taxes are now currently higher, it makes some sense for them to be. The tax is a mix of income and property tax(upkeep fee) of a sort. A tax collection or real government system would be pretty neat as an addition to the server but it would take time to implement and the tax increase was the quickest fix for the moment. While tax evasion would be something to be rp, the forced implementation for balancing as game mechanic is understandable to avoid excessive inflation but could be adjusted in ways to utilize player activity and rp via enforcement by new jobs/organizations. Generally speaking, there has to be multiple ways of removing inflation in all aspects of the game for the various roles and ways to play. I made a thread about that here: Potential Money Sink Ideas

MistNinja Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 (edited) how about make it so until someone is exp 5k or 10k, they do not recieve such large taxes? because honnestly for the people who have been here for a long time its completely fine and since your post stated that it is bad for the new eclipse roleplay members, i would say just reduce it for them for a duration of time. as for the people who have been here for a while you should by know realize this has been also invented to clean out some of the money and keep the money circling.. including making the whole taxes system more realistic (eclipse is moving more and more towards heavy rp) also you could make it so the tax money gets distributed to goverment factions by a certain % but hey that is just my opinion on the matter. Levi208 Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 (edited) I love the feature and I completely agree with more of a money sink. Expensive things should cost.. but the way this is implemented now this only punishes the middle class people in town. Making no taxation difference between one million and five million seems a little backwards to me. A better way for something like this to be made balanced would be to calculate these prices in an insurance of some kind rather than a straight up tax over money you've made ages ago. At this moment it only punishes people who want to reach the ''top'', like a lot of people on here have already reached ages ago and are now essentially coasting on it. (No problem with this, by the way. ) After all they already own what they'd want to own, but what will ever motivate them to sell now? I don't see this leading to more money around in circulation, I see it leading to the top 5% of wealth on eclipse becoming even more rigid than it was before. Surely driving a 4 million dollar supercar you'd expect to pay a small fortune in insurance and upkeep? At this point the wellfare went from 2.5k to 1k.. Yet because of the tax that 1k becomes 600. Add that to the nerf done to regular job payouts (To compensate for the 2.5k wellfare, I am aware) and it's currently a mess in my honest opinion. I am 100% for more moneysinks. But not half implemented features that affect only the middle-class of players. We'd like to dream of buying a super one day too, you know? But at this point a newspaper costs more than what wellfare pays an hour. Edited September 28, 2018 by Levi208 Minor spellcorrects 2 4
