Track Detention Time Before Jail or Prison
DaddyShrood replied to Timmaayy's topic in Game Suggestions
I'm still not entirely convinced. I can just see it turning into an absolute shit show in /b with people endlessly complaining, or even deliberately stalling on purpose just so that their actual time in DOC is minimal. It's a good idea in principle but an absolute minefield in practice. -
Track Detention Time Before Jail or Prison

How would it work if someone breaks out of custody? There's so many flaws to this idea I'm not entirely sure how you'd safeguard it properly. -
I don't see how that would increase the player count in any meaningful way. With all due respect Jay, and I do have lots of respect for the work you do, but you're only fighting this hard for civ rip because you are so heavily invested in it. If you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, the server has bigger fish to fry and should be focusing on other things before we start focusing on CIV rp.
-
We can't even get people to log on and be a crim!!!!!!! Why should the focus then be on giving these people extra things to do when we can't even get the basics right?
-
The fact there's people genuinely saying in this thread that DOC doesn't need development but we should instead focus on CIV rp is laughable. DOC being in the state it currently is, is one of the biggest single contributors to the current state of the server. To say that we should focus on CIV rp over actually making DOC not feel like an OOC punishment is laughable at best. If all the crime leave the server then who's gonna show up to these events? It's already the same group of people who attend them, this trend will only increase if we stick our fingers in our ears and pretend that cooking in a stove is the solution.

In real life, people don't walk around with assault rifles and start the equivalent of the Ukraine war over a $1000 speeding citation, but yanno.

NLR allows cops to perform unrelated faction duties. The fact you're killing the same cop 3 times is very telling.
-
That is just a recipe for petty reports and will ultimately turn the server into something resembling Donetsk, more than it already does. Ultimately the way to make the server better from a crim POV is make DOC far better, add far more activities and opportunities to do stuff. Also, increase the variety of crimes available to do as well, give the cops more to respond too, therefore making it busier for everyone and more enjoyable.
-
The complete irony of the whole thing is if you ask anyone who's spent more than 5 minutes either in Prison as a criminal or in the DOC faction they could give you at least 3 fairly decent ideas of how to improve the prison, why it's not been done is beyond me.
-
The sentences don't need decreasing, the ability to reduce your sentence while incarcerated is what needs changing. Stamps need to actually be worth something when it comes to reducing time and not merely just being a way of helping pay your fines off. DOC has it's place within the server and the community at large however it has been horrendously neglected over the years if you compare it to most other things. If it was far more fun for both inmates and guards you probably wouldn't have half the issues with not being able to retrieve your items etc.

I've done multiple IA reports where I feel I've been wronged. Sometimes they don't get sustained, sometimes they do but if you don't at least try then you don't have a right to complain really.
-
Why did you not file an IA report about this if you're so aggrieved? Complaining on the forums ultimately won't solve anything and merely just causes further division within the community.

FearRP, Ruleplaying, NonRP, and Law enforcement.

The taser definitely needed a rework however the new system is ultimately just going to promote people to use a firearm. IMO we should have changed the taser to mimic how the Taser X2 works irl. You have 2 shots, then you have to reload to get another 2 shots. This allows for tasers to be used where necessary but doesn't put cops in the position of forgetting to retrieve their taser again after using it twice and ultimately resorting to a firearm. -
I'm having similar issues, when I can (finally) get into ECRP I have 30fps max, 2 weeks ago I used to be running at 100+.

Sorrywhatpardon? The entire nature of LEO is reactionary. The main reason we're at the point we're at now is because of how a certain few people choose to react the moment they see a flashing light behind them. It is ultimately a 2 way street, however to say that LEOs should just put their guns down and become target practice, in the hope that everyone else gets bored and does the same is wishful thinking at best. We need to reflect on the mentality that some people are expressing and look at that before we start throwing fingers around at everyone else.

Burger shot is fulfilled by truckers, and it works perfectly fine.

Date and time (provide timezone): 27/05/2025 18:00 BST Character name: Steve Reed Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: Yes. How many times did this issue appear for you?: Multiple. Issue/bug you are reporting: The pounder when spawned at Level 15 trucker HQ spawns too far back so gets stuck on the barrier and cannot be moved. Expected behavior: It should spawn further forward and be able to be moved. Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Spawn a pounder at level 15 HQ. Vehicle license plate number*: N/A

I think giving a lot more Dev support to DOC both as a faction and place would be a huge +1 for everyone. Prison shouldn't be somewhere you want to end up however it also shouldn't feel like you've just been given the most boring experience of your life.
-
I can't speak for any other faction but at DOC if you press a pager, I'd say circa 20% of the time people actually turn up. Pagers aren't this magical thing which spawns half of the faction in suddenly. Yes they have their uses but I feel that they're being massively way overstated.
-
I have no issue with crims getting pagers, I have an issue with the removal of pagers for LEOs as it serves a purpose and reflects real life fairly well, something the community as a whole seems to pick and choose massively.
-
Why though? Irl pagers exist, people can be called up to duty if something happens. Ultimately cops should have the advantage over crims, to suggest otherwise is farcical.

A Call for Balance: Addressing LEO Overreach and RP Disparities on ECRP
DaddyShrood replied to Koji96's topic in Discussions
DOC and GOV have very little players who can actually assist outside of their primary locations due to IC rules and regulations. To use the entire faction in this way is a mute point. -
The way to look at it is that you should never be able to wipe the government. In reality, the government would throw every man dog and pigeon at whomever is attacking them until they were subdued. Also, as a long time member of DOC you'd be surprised how little we actually get called out to the city, and often by the time we even turn up everyone's dead and all the crims have ran off.

I think this would be a good thing if bags got changed so you could open a bag without having to drop it

You want a second chance yet have been banned multiple times? The math ain't mathing.
