Not really much to say about this, another thread no doubt PD will come rushing into. Just noticed a report on the forums that included this clip: https://streamable.com/39m0m0 I was shocked to find out this is not infact a gang pursuit? But two police officers in random clothes on personal vehicles nipping around the populated city in there high speed BIKES, taking absolutely no consideration for there life or any sort of RP standards. Criminals can risk there life on a bike it makes sense, you won't see high speed performance police bikes nipping in and out of traffic in LA. How much longer is this sort of action going to continue? Recently we saw a lot of archived community suggestions. These suggestions going back 2-3 years, and many of these also talking about PD's standards. Here is another topic to hopefully get some attention about it...

I have also experienced this bug. From a separate bug report it seemed to be that this is how it was intended to work. However from a player report it was ruled the opposite that the radio should be cancelling all actions. Kinda weird that there is not a consistent ruling on this. I have attached video of when this happened to me recently, this was solved in game by kat. As you can see in the example, I talk multiple times over VOIP and the bolts do not get cancelled, when I type it is cancelled.

+1 this would be great! There is so many small little items they could put in to enhance roleplay, that I am sure would not take much time at all to script.
-
This is great to hear! Maybe something like this could be looked into being changed by the staff/higher ups. As this would not only solve the problem of fines/punishments but would also not restrict any PD rp etc. It is not like changing the penal code or making crimes come with less punishments. Seems like that would be a win win for everyone :).
-
Ye I understand you might not have experienced it but as a crim and DOC worker myself, trust me when I say this is a regular occurrence. You defo seem like one of the better guys as these officers have nothing to gain by increasing your prison time/fines its just a bad mentality. I guess this is not super relevant to the topic, but it does incorporate fines in a way. It would be nice to see criminals only being charged, for there one main serious offence. Courts do not really say, that the defendant is guilty for example of murder, assault, breaking and entering etc. They will just issue the punishment based off of the murder charge.
-
Well the fines get stacked because the cops love to add charges and there is no IC consequences when they do this, even though it shows on every arrest report xD. You normally get sentenced for the most severe aspect of your crime for example murder. You wouldn't get assault, murder, face concealment etc etc. So although that might be the highest fine you can get for one instance. Lets say a new player tries stealing a car, gets caught and attempts to run away from police (which would be a perfectly reasonable response for a new player, on a GTA server). He would likely face 5-7 charges by the time they have finished adding them altogether. Again this isn't an issue that PD really care about solving so it has just become the status quo.

Ability to tow atvs and motorcycles in trucks

+1 great idea! Unfortunately I imagine it will get buried in the hundreds of other suggestions we are waiting for. -
We just need more scripted jobs, that completing significantly reduces your time spent in DOC. Is there anyone out there that thinks the current exchange of stamps to time off is good?
-
Just kinda weird that those "extreme" examples include senior police officers....

Would be nice to have active or with criminal history staff solving crim based reports. It is easy to sit there and look at the book and decide that his is a rulebreak in some way. This is because a lot of these admins have never actually played crim. For example the recent report on wearing another gangs colours. Any crim RP'er knows that this has been done for as long as the server has been around. However an admin that has never played crim before might not understand this...

Looks like they were opening fire at legion square as well? (city parking)
-
The main problem is, that a cop shooting a hostage for example, or unloading his rifle into the back of an unarmed suspect would have a real consequence. This would be at least fired from the police, and more common a jail sentence. Yes mistakes happen, but thats why you are supposed to be extra cautious especially with civilians around. Letting the person escape is not an option for you, when in real life for example they won't even pursue a high speed chase in the city because of public risk! Sometimes you guys have to think about your surroundings before instantly just gunning someone down to get the W.
-
Crims are held to these standards though, every action we do we have to think of how many "invisible" people would realistically be there. Crims have to follow more of a checklist than PD! That is insane, that for a crim to open fire in the city they will take more steps to avoid this action due to the rules than the actual PD themselves would do. The crims seem to have more of a responsibility than the PD when it comes to "protecting" the NPCs.
-
+1 lethal force should be a last resort to use when they feel there life is at threat, not simply because someone is escaping and they can just BLS them back. No doubt soon enough a bunch of PD officers will come here saying its IC, and they have IC rules relating to it. Staff seem to be very fair these days in punishing PD for shooting people where they shouldn't. I would say defo save your POV and post reports, as staff are starting to issue them NRP and DM punishments. Hopefully next we can get them solving NRP reports for there ridiculous ramming protocols (a different topic for a different day).

Ye they tend to take a long time, generally not as long from memory for "big" properties like gas stations and general stores. However based off papadakis previous comment, there seems to be more going on with the ownership of mirror park gas. Staff also have been very quiet when several people have checked it will still be going up for auction....
-
All banned owners properties should just be put up for auction regardless of contracts signed. It was the players choice to get into business with a player who ended up being banned. If people share a house or other assets and then somebody gets banned they don't just get them transferred. In the past we always see these businesses go up for auction shortly after the player is banned. It is pretty shocking that we are making an exception here and the business has STILL not been auctioned, it is one of the premier gas stations in the city. I wonder if the owner was a crim we would have these same protections in place...

Countless times it is brought up that several of the RP aspects are based off of California. Particularly things to do with the police. Stuff such as weapons, budget, even down to the vehicles that are accessible. This isn't just an "opinion" this is what staff say...

very cool Ravyn!
-
+1, even if a few bad apples got through it would be much better for the community than its current state.
-
sometimes its even less, you can be one shot with both , but not a firearm.
-
There should be PD staff members dedicated to that aspect, because its boring and there's no requirements to do it the officers would much rather spend there time in chases or shootouts, rather than RPing there full jobs.
-
The current system is absolutely awful. Police officers take ages to respond to impound calls as it is! We definitely need this and some more proactive IC action from the police department would be nice, in regards to some form of desk duty. However nobody wants to do this as it is boring...

I appreciate the work you do for the community and feel you are one of the best staff members when it comes to the handling of reports and the situations involving it. Maybe this has something to do with having actively played all aspects the server has to offer so can see things in a much better perspective. In regards to reporting staff members if we have an issue with the outcome. A brief example I previously mentioned, the administrator has since changed their reasoning for finding the punishment (probably once someone informed them of the rule change), however they still managed to find the same result, this is baffling to me? Administrators seem to want to punish people as opposed to the opposite. Most reports tend to go down the avenue of why did you do this and defending yourself. Instead a better approach would be asking the reporter, why do you feel they didn't have rights here? Why did you feel they were not following fearrp rules etc. Not every report has to have a punishment.
-
I mean ye there was a recent report where someone got punished for not being in a three hour timer in regards to DM rights, even though this was removed....

Looks like there will be lots of low class gang conflict in the area, think this will be great for server RP! Stick with it.
