  1. While it might be unetichal to use floating dingdoos for such purposes, I find it unsatisfactory that job is not working and there is no attention surrounding this issue, which surely could be quickly fixed. (I'm not a programmer, so take it with a grain of salt that I claim it is easily fixable). In addition, many fdo's are with external URL links like YouTube etc, where do we draw a line what link can be added and which no? While someone might create a web page for their services, it is hard to tell if it is ooc or IC. With my fdo's I wanted to simply bring attention to, where I believe, it is worth giving it. Same with the toll booth operators, while the job is functional, it is not working as intended. I. E. It doesn't pay operator for their time spent at toll booth. Instead of patching such critical issues, players are rewarded with new cars, which I seem to not understand, because small things like working coroner, toll booth operator jobs is what keeps players busy and thriving for a job they can do to spend their time, therefore increasing player base which indirectly results into bigger commission for the server owners, and eventually everyone is (In theory) happy with the outcome. Just my two cents about the issue.
  2. I am not a fan for the robberies as I have different style, but you got my vote, simply because of what Trevor Zelias said. Server is seriously lacking something, you can check the ratio of suggested and implemented suggestions, it does not resemble a healthy approach to the server at all... +19472615362718372-182938193717173921
  3. +1, those who don't play don't understand frustration when you need to purchase many items at once, but you simply cant...
  4. + sounds cool and I am always for good ideas. Might I add, that ability to set font size in addition would be dope.
  5. So... AFAIK the coroner job is R.I.P, and it is inconvenience to make the coroners number known to the all of the new players, ( weazel could utilise their network to make this number known couple of times a day, wink wink ) often times they just don't know abut coroner side job at all. 1) Simple implementation could fix it and add some RP to the plate - App on phone instead of sophisticated calling method, where people can make a photo of body and put in brief description about weather they will await coroner or they are into rush. Then reporting party can even logoff from server but the call will stay in app for a hour or two ( time until body respawns ), other coroners can get notification on their phone each time there is new report of dead body, similarly as it is with receiving SMS'es. On side note, coroners should receive this notification no matter if they have their work vehicle out or not, simply if you choose coroners job you get notified by script, not by player himself, risking to loose the call to other coroners. 2) ... bodies disappear within less than a hour, previously it was discussed that body will be on floor for up to 4 hours if my memory is correct, but it is not working.... 3) Coroners should also show distance left same as taxi, because currently people who requests for a coroner don't know if coroner is coming in a moments around the corner, or he has to drive up to 10km which takes some time. 4) There could be two options to dig the body bags - first can be left as it is, you simply drop a bodies at same location with a button press ( FIX IT PLEASE! ), other option could be more time consuming, where players are cremating the body and it takes some time ( MINIGAME ), and as it requires more time to do it would also get some pay. In case there is tonns of dead bodies, coroners can RP that some part of them bring bodies, other part works in crematorium burning dead corpses 24/7/365, yo So the process would follow A couple of simple steps: 1) Bodies go BRRrR 2) People can RP ashes 3) ??? PROFIT
  6. +11 its actually strange they are not implemented yet.
  7. In my opinion people are not so much angry about the fact that they cannot say to someone that he is maggot or to kill themselves, i believe they just don't like the fact that they get controlled what they can and cannot say, on surface yeah, it is limiting what one can say or do, but at the deep end of this iceberg, issue is about control and how it is enforced. And it also does not mean that everyone uses them 24/7, but what will be disallowed next? If someone gets offended by word "boiler" or "cyclothrone" then it also will be banned? It is silly and blatant attempt to fight consequences and not root cause. I can bet that there would not even be such discussions if there would be quicker updates to what was teased to loyal players even years ago... (I don't blame devs, I can't comprehend on how hard it is to keep up all of this by only 2 people, more dev-power would solve this problem, but that is not something I have any knowledge as of why it is what it is at this time). Shortly speaking, in my personal view it is unnecessary to limit role play. If people can't take it, there is other games or things to do.
  8. +1 as you sometimes find out if car is owned by player or server only after you initiate picklocking mechanics. I for myself aim for player owned cars when I need to find illegal things or legal ones that I can quickly cash in for some sweet pawn money, therefore I understand it might be awful feeling to find out your car and valuable items in them are lost, but the current system where nothing is in NPC cars just makes me choose this harsh path, and every car I pick I pray to Jesus that I don't get cought red handed, as I don't know who owns the car, could be some nasty criminals. Anyways, foreplay aside: It would perfectly fit if there would be some "better grade" items in those cars sometimes too, point fiddy, micro, kilo of hash etc etc are just few of options. Because currently it is more close to "very high risk - zero reward" situation, especially in more populated time zones. Cops magically see in their wonderful MDC that car is stolen (even tho there is Noone rply that reports it) and you gon get down. It is already at least one hour ( ooc) in prison, plus if you add attempted evasion, unlawful possession/use of deadly weapon, you go down for a lot of time, and all that for a tiny reward. This tiny reward is also not easy to get, because if you decide to chop the car without its engine, whole carcass, you get 5-10k, that is, if all the steps were successful. But cops are not the only risk factors - other criminals, bugs, it all narrows the chance of getting that cash really low. For a good QoL change, I would say that cops should NOT see on their MDC if car is stolen or not, only after thorough RP of checking Vin number at traffic stop, and it would need a good cause too. That would balance the absurd amount of risk you need to go trough to get tiny reward. On the other hand, if these cars would have some items In them, it would make more people to steal NPC cars and leaving player cars alone, because they would not have that high motivation to make trouble for players in attempt to loot some clothes or food. Also, not everyone picklocks / steals NPC cars to chop them, sometimes it is just cheaper to travel from point A to point B. TL:DR - add items (various) in NPC cars, remove option from cops to instantly spot stolen NPC car.
  9. I doubt it will happen, in my opinion because most criminals use fast and efficient bikes to evade police, so if they had more bang for the buck, more people would successfully run away from pd. However, I would like to see gas canisters reworked so, that it could be reusable, meaning players could buy one gas canister and refill it at gas stations for later use. They could also be used to filling water for drinking / cooling drug tables, but if you mix gasoline with water and drink that, then you would get slight health debuff and drunk or narcotic high animation for some minute or so... Now that would be cool
  10. Exactly, if you can't handle what someone is saying and you are unconfortable ask them oocly to stop, if they don't then yeah report to appropriate parties. No one is forcing you to keep conversation going which you don't like, there is simple ways to avoid it, like, ignoring the abusive party, or walking your own way. It would be a nice addition if you could /mute someone who you find abusive and harmful, then it would save valuable time of administrators so they can focus on things that are left aside (like requests, reports etc, both IG and On forums) If player keeps abusing /mute in a way that he / she starts oocly hunting you on say, forums, discord, then it would be worthy for a forum complaint. That way it would stay organic, and efficient. If someone who is muted tries to speak to person who muted him, he would see little /ame response over his head that player is not willing to communicate, and only /me /do etc would be seen from muted person. For example if someone whispers to the player who muted you, you would get same response but in also /ame styled response. OOC chat Can be kept, however exempt from this, so that someone who doesn't understand why is that he can't speak to someone, offended party can explain in ooc and see how it goes.
  11. But doesn't it fall for a meta gaming rule? That no IC intel can be used OOC and vice versa? Therefore if ICly someone calls someone a "bad" words, it is MG if they get mad OOC! However it is completely relevant if OOC bullying occurs, then yeah I agree matters should be taken. There should be 100% IC freedom, and it is hypocrite to allow some forms or shapes of it, and deny some other shapes of IC interactions. It is bias against one's wishes among others wishes. Maybe someone gets offended that he cannot express himself, what to do then? If in this society everyone deserves equal rights, then in this case it is inequal to them! Paradox of justice, because for some there is more justice than to others. Also it is hard to quantity things like "emphaty", "common sense" etc. What common sense is for one, might be chaos and absurd to other person. Just my opinion on matter.
  12. Brilliantly as it is, I was about to suggest something along the lines of what You said. At points it feels like Don Quixote fight with windmills, where we patch problem result and not the root cause, and by that I mean censorshiping some phrases or slurs. It will just stop people using those banned slurs, but not their behaviour, for example, group of people can agree to call "f@g0t$" as cucumbers, then what, we ban word "cucumber" ? It might sound silly, but in my believe, it is the tone of how you say it rather than text itself that leaves the impact. I in no way encourage harassing others or being mean, but exactly as you said, it is not real life, so not only people come here to "chill" after their hard life ( I bet many of us has our own everyday struggles and battles that we think of as something that is unbearable for others), but they also express themselves in a ways that are not fit in real life, and if someone loses all his gunpowder in game rather than in streets beating or killing someone, then I am all in for that.
  13. IC is IC and OOC is OOC. If someone gets IRL "offended" by such phrases or racial slurs, or gender count slurs, etc etc, it just basically means that player is metagaming, taking IC information into OOC matters. However, the minute verbal abuse starts on OOC level, it is a whole different situation and should be dealt with accordingly. People nowadays get offended by literally anything that they do not agree, instead of taking matters in their own hands and dealing accordingly, but that might just be my personal opinion. On the matter: I don't think there is a need to censure any bad words or phrases, as this is a) A 17+ game, which means that no minor legally is allowed to play there, thus players are legally allowed to be exposed to matters that are otherwise not advisable to minors, such as violence, substances abuse, prostitution, public urination, human cannibalism etc... Rockstar itself kindly warns about all of the possible exposure that players can experience when they play the game, and they are agreeing to that risk by... continuing to play it. b) at age of 18 most people are mature enough to distinct the difference between video game and reality, it is not players duty to check on every encounter with strangers that they are at full mental health, it is just impossible to track! c) as the situations include people, living and unpredictable beings, it is not always possible to rectify who is in fault and who is "offended", thus I don't see how it can be enforced clearly, without any biases and so on. + enforcing these rules will cause a lot of "troll reports" which will waste even more of the valuable administration time, effectively slowing down forums work to even worse lengths of response time... P. S. Speaking about game not community as whole, because it is whole different story what can be seen in game and forums, for example. Just my honest opinion on the matter.
  14. Yeah I know the drill, I got Playlist of my own with AHK script from somewhere on this forum, but I made it for car speaker instead of boom box, but the point still stands that it is sort of inconvenience because if you want to play something that is not on your Playlist, you still have to add it manually, and consider that 10min is cap.
  15. Simply suggesting that /vol x y regulates not absolute volume, but rather in dBm, meaning if you set for example 50dBm then no volume is greater or lover than 50dBM. It certainly should be possible script wise, and the benefit of that would be that if, for example, you set 35dBm volume level, then player whose mic input reaches 30dBm gets normalised(boosted) till 35dBm, and for someone whose mic input is say 55dBm gets lowered (quieted down) till said 35dBm mark. Scale could go from 0 to 100dBm as it is now but with percents. Then there would be no earrape and no situations where you cannot hear someone.
  16. Great idea, my only worry is that it might generate enormous wealth to already wealthy players. If this is balanced, then you got my 100% support!
  17. Agree that it is not OK, however, how can you tell if other party is a minor? It is absurd to judge that by the voice/tone alone, and if you ask ooc if person is 18+, there is also no proof that he/she is not lying. I have not encountered in any of these so called ERP sessions because I personally find them not necessary for IC, however I don't think it is really possible to filter who is 18+ and who is not. After all, best way could be just a big warning that only 18+ can join server, and put user agreement Form where they have to sign that they agree to server rules, where in case they lie about their IRL age they can not make such things a s lawsuits IRL. It would be impossible and risky to ask for IRL ID or passport to be reviewed once joining, but that could eliminate risks of minors joining the server. Gta 5 itself has a rating of 17+ (equivalent of R rating for movies) so there should not be any minors in server to begin with. And if there in fact wouldn't be any minor, things like gross rp also would not need constant ooc permissions, it would feel more natural than it might be meow. + speaking of my experience with minors here, every one of the encounters ended up as forum complaint in my favor, because often minors have hard time on controlling their urges in server, thus they often ignore server rules and abuse them.
  18. While this is helpful, doesn't help if listening not mainstream songs
  19. Happens to all of us at some point. And nobody said anything to you regarding that? OK no need to limitless lengths, 1h cap would work wonders for some mashups or longer songs. Playlists in yt would also be so cool (if scriptly possible, of course) as I for example don't use Spotify at all. Ik that hoturls are disabled for security reasons so I won't even mention that.
  20. +1 but for removing 10min cap. Annoying to always alt tab to look for song URL, and it takes too much time to make URL list for AHK script, +lot of times you want to listen to smth new.
  21. Yeah I didn't even think about it being restricted to gangs only with certain tier level, but that sounds more than reasonable and approachable! Small things like these would defifinitley blow some fresh air into the system!
  22. Hello! This time im suggesting simple implementation of a graffiti system - people can buy spray cans at 24/7 general stores and write something on many places on walls ( up to 64x character or something like that ), and it stay until either someone tags over it, or cleans it off ( new freelance job possibly) This would greatly benefit gangs, drug sellers etc, as people will be able to "tag" their territories, drug dealers can leave their contact info etc etc. It could be a simple GUI with handful of fonts and sizes that could be picket once graffiti tagging is started, player needs to play minigame for couple fo times while tag is being made, then if police sees such, they can detain person for vandalising property, or begin affiliated with gangs.
  23. -1 this is strongly smelling as bias against criminal power. Only way I see this gets implemented, if it applies to cops. Why Noone speaks out about how unrealistic it is to get around 10 cop cars for a routine traffic stop, if car driver shows slightest appearance of a criminal. Hell no. Let crims live, it is outstanding how they manage to survive with all the script and rule biases against them.
  24. Can agree to your arguments, but one thing comes in mind, especially with daily bonus - once some players see it, they /q because they know they reached their target to get bonus and gets out. I agree that some colors can be used as it makes text stand out, but not with current font and inability to change font size. Same for weazel (ik it's ic, but...), all of the poopofonia with random colors distracts to the point where you stop looking at text at all because it's all so colory, like some kinder gardeners personal diary.
  25. Great idea, reminds me of samp times where players grinded to get higher job levels and live better because of higher skill level perks. Definitely big +1 to this idea!
