  1. 100% Support this change, and I'm not even a crim. How about using your hunch and investigating further, looking for footage, searching for DNA, or following the perp. Please elaborate on how this can restrict you from doing proper investigative RP, as if anything, it seems to encourage it. Or is your idea of proper investigative RP the same as that of the reported officer: "oh I saw this guy in the same car and same clothes, boom let me charge him with 30k worth of shit he did on a hunch that it's him"? There are lots of good cops, no doubt. They provide consistent good RP, allow for responses, and are generally fair and provide a fun atmosphere for everyone (win or lose). Unfortunately there are also many players in this faction who wield their relatively high power to play2win, and I feel that this rule will mostly work well to curb their power and/or keep them in check.
  2. Any money players put it past that initial 1.5k doesn't go to the person who all-ined with 1.5k though....that's what split pots are for? Players: A: A Diam, A Clubs, all-ins with 1.5k preflop B: K Diam, K Clubs: raises/bets up to 40k with player E E: Q Diam, Q Clubs: raises/bets up to 40k with player B Cards are 2 2 2 3 3, so A > B > E The resulting payout would be: A: 4.5k (1.5k + the 1.5k from both B and E that matched his bet) B: 77k Like, this doesn't affect anything? Are you claiming that these players are hoping to abuse the 'split pot' bug? I play a lot of poker and still haven't seen exactly how/when it happens, but would this be a way to trigger it, so player A gets a much larger payout than his deserved 4.5k, assuming he wins?
  3. 1) Cash required do play doesn't set the stakes, the amount of the blind does. Increasing the blinds will increase the stakes, and at 500/1k it would be solidly 'middle stakes' (especially with the way that bets work, where you are only allowed to bet multiplicatively more than previous bets). 2) Set a higher minimum people will just bring {new minimum} and all in with that over and over again. These people are literally giving away their money, if you are playing poker for profit why would you do anything but welcome this behavior? This is literally not a problem, let people play how they want. Real issues with poker table: - Bugged results (split pots) - Fixed, multiplicative, bet sizes - Cards showing/not showing correctly at end of hand - Miniscule blind which does not encourage playing. Non-Issues: - People playing poker, by the rules, in a manner that doesn't suit you. (Especially when their strategy is exceptionally sub-optimal)
  4. maybe not higher minimum, but introduce small blinds (especially to big table) and make the blinds 500/1k (or more) People all-in with 1.5k over and over again isn't really an issue, if they want to throw their money away then that's their prerogative.
  5. +1 New texts up top, with notification
  6. - Would like for there to be a more linear and clearly defined path to 'official' status (seems a bit arbitrary currently) Would also like for their to be other, perhaps custom, rewards for official factions, as laptop access seems tailor made for gangs. What about non violent player run factions (cults, clans, racing groups, etc....they would get little value from laptop access)
  7. - Body Camera item to the game - UI Clearly shows if a bodycam is equipped, and wether or not it is recording (perhaps a small dot near the globes on bottom right, grey = no bodycam, red = not recording, green = recording) Addition of commands /destroyCamera (same usage as /takebattery) /bcam (toggles camera on and off) /chargeCam Uses batteries (same as cellphone) Pros: Removes the (really dumb) reliance on /me turns on bodycam /do its recording /time printscreen and makes footage easy to see if it is admissible ICly Cons: None that I can see
  8. Should just add /plow for phone low (which would also work in this case) /p = speak on phone /plow = quietly on phone regular text chat no longer goes to phone Also, replace all instaces of 'low' with just 'l' as optional shortcuts: /l /rl /pl

    PD RP

This has happened to me, but from SD (it is my understanding the bolded also applies to SD). Went to impound, officer arrested me due to having charges. I raised a complete stink as they were not true. Officer gets in contact with the SD officer who placed the charges, the SD officer said that they placed them at their superiors request, but they personally had nothing to do with the situation. After some discussion (and 1-2 hrs OOC time, AND my pocket money + mask) the charge was dropped and I was released. After the situation, I spoke with the arresting officer regarding an IA report, and his stance was that it would likely be a waste of my time and no repercussions would befell the officers (neither the charging officer nor their superior who supposedly ordered the charges). I had my entire play session recorded, and had zero negative interaction with PD. I spend most of my days playing poker or checking out houses/cars, not doing typical crim stuff. Difficult problem, especially when playing on a free server, and I've had pretty good interactions with many PD/SD (generally positive). Not sure what the solution could or would be.

    PD RP

Most people see IA as a black hole where nothing gets done, with a severe bias towards PD.
  12. I never fish, but it's pretty apparent that it's much more fun to check out peoples cars, and relax without having to worry about someone stealing your car.
  13. Not ordered in any particular way, some of the thoughts may be a bit disheveled but perhaps some of these ideas/thoughts may resonate. Crim/PD related: 1) Death RP / mywounds - Remove death rp as something you RP yourself that is not being scriptly supported. Update /mywounds to have more accurate (or even randomly generated wounds if the server is unable to decipher them). When downed, the speed / time until your death without /stabilize is determined by /mywounds (with some RNG thrown in). Players are no longer able to ask for permission to deathRP. Additional damage taken while downed would potentially accelerate the rate of death. Examples : /mywounds - 3 gunshot wounds to the head, time until death would be 20 seconds, with say 50% rng (so could be 10-30 seconds) /mywounds - broken rib, time until death 10 minutes, with 50% rng so 5-15 minutes total. etc. etc. Pro: This would remove the whole dilemma of people going into shootouts and then trying to deathrp out of the consequences so to speak. 2) Gangs/Crims must have a way to easily obtain DM rights on other criminals - - Let shooters shoot. Turfs, active rivalries giving auto DM rights, doesn't matter, low level, gang on gang violence should not be as heavily discouraged OOCly as it is, and it should be encouraged if anything. PD should also shy away from getting involved in gang on gang violence. 3) PD - Enough has been said about this topic, and it is very apparent that the majority of the server elite favour PD. It *should* be an OOC issue when officers do not respond to impound requests for hours (OOC hours) at a time. PD SHOULD be afraid to roll up to the middle of a known gang hideout in a single cruiser. PD response times to vinewood should be much quicker than response times to grove street (this can even be done scriptly, with some rng of course). PD should lose something when 'yoloing' into bank robberies. Economy related: 1) There must be some economic benefits granted to lower/middle income players. - The salary nerf 1.5 / 1k / 500 to 1k / 500 / 0 was a change that hurt lower or middle income players much more heavily than older players, and it hurt the very oldest of players the least (where a large portion of the additional salary comes from their very significant XP). - Mining / RV nerf : The biggest cash cow for non-affiliated players has been nerfed to the ground. I suggest a rework of the salary system, and perhaps have the values be 1.5k/1k/0 in order to give lower net worth players some much needed handicap. 2) Scripted Businesses should be exposed to natural competition. They should be able to lose money and fail if mismanaged, and be exposed to normal economic forces of competition. As it currently stands scripted businesses are money printing presses. - Allow much more businesses to be open (all the gas stations, etc., allow players to buy vehicle lots and open a dealership, etc. etc. Just many more businesses) - Allow for owners to make actual business decisions beyond just 'oh i dont have this in stock let me buy it'. For example dealerships can have relationships with OEMs (Dewbauchee, etc.) where they pay x/month to be the only dealership that can import that OEM's vehicles. Or allow stores to make a deal with the lockpick manufacturer to purchase at least 10,000 lockpicks, and this would not allow other stores to order lockpicks for N time while the supplier restocks. OOC punishment related: 1) Remove permabans, standardize punishments, institute temp bans in place of perma bans. - Removes the drawn out, and staff consuming appeals process. Once a ban is issued, first time is 2 weeks, second time 3 months, all bans afterwards are 6 months, and they are automatically appealed by the system. Players who have thousands of hours played and just a few warnings/punishments should not be in fear of perma banishment. - Expire old punishments/warnings after 12-18 months. Completely remove the record from the players account, warnings/punishments from years ago should not impact current punishment, especially if the player migrates to a different facet of RP (start a crim for example)
  14. Are some of the vehicles currently (or previously) on the credit shop not classed "Top Tier"? If they made this change I would almost certainly stop playing the server, however not sure if that's a good reason....
  15. While there were recent nerfs to income (especially for lower / middle class), something should be done about the 'scripted businesses', and how they are essentially money printers. Why can't I (or anyone else) purchase a lot, apply to the gov and start my own little dealership or high end lot? Why must stores be in such limited quantity, there should be many and not all of them should be blindly profitable. (It should be possible to lose money while owning a scripted business, just to competition (and not due to completely stupid decisions)
  16. -1 Salaried jobs SHOULD make less money than 'grinding' jobs, and just going to LSC you can many times see 10 mechanics hanging out not doing any work. Weazel reporter issue is due to their IC hiring practices / management, and nothing to do with 'low' salaries
  17. Scamming is important as it keeps the server fun/exciting. (and this is from the perspective of someone who has lost about 800k to scams) Just some counterpoints regarding this topic: - if scamming is not allowed in NCZ, neither should tax evasion - tax evasion performed by gov employees without corruption perms should be considered OOC rulebreak
  18. Date and time (provide timezone): Any Character name: Jacob Leoni Issue/bug you are reporting: If you die to fire /mywoulds shows you were shot in the butt Expected behavior: /mywounds would show either nothing or something relevant Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: start campfire, down yourself due to the damage from it, type /mywounds Vehicle license plate number*: N/A
  19. Running people over on sidewalk (or killing someone by crashing them while driving on the wrong side of the road) should be treated as VDM by admins and punished accordingly, 0 leeway for 'accidents' or 'sorry bros' as it happens far too often. (yes, desync happens and this should be excused, but there are hundreds of cars a day barrelling down the wrong side of the highway or sidewalks without desync)
  20. No responses, poorly thought, required manual edit [active] tag, no seperate by real estate or vehicles, the new advertisements section seems like a strict qol decrease from it's previous iteration
  21. Where is it? Corruption is ICly enforeced only afaik, mostly through their black-hole of an IA portal on the IC gov website
  22. +1 to separating IA from PD +1 to making PD feel some sort of economic pressure from lost resources (either on individual level or as a whole)
  23. And if the PD shoots first? /b make an IA report (that goes nowhere)
  24. I mean, crims also can't shoot unless they get DM rights...
