Hey Einhart! Hope you're having a good day Have you ever considered that some people don't like to report others? Just because it wasn't "reported" and there isn't documentation of the occurrence, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Reporting someone for using an in-game mechanic doesn't really seem fair, does it? But if you feel that the in-game mechanic is potentially being abused and could use some editing, a suggestion is the perfect place to find yourself on the forum! Some players in our community don't desire for others to receive punishments, or simply can't be bothered with the time and effort that go into a report, so isn't a nice alternative for a report, a forum suggestion based on things you've observed? I don't think we should be promoting report culture in every situation, sometimes it's just not necessary! Just because something wasn't reported doesn't mean it didn't happen. We shouldn't attack people on the principle of "your example holds no value because 'was it reported?'."

+1 I feel like this would be pretty simple to implement. IDs provide a means of metagaming literally constantly and whether it's intentional or subconscious it's something that's happening way more often than it should.

+1 ! Fantastic idea, would love to see this implemented.

Increase Required Escalation for Raids or Remove them Completely
idgafashlee replied to quixotic's topic in Archive
Oh baby, I don't think you're seeing the bigger picture here. In my initial post, I said I believe raids shouldn't be removed entirely. As someone with nearly equal hours on my criminal and legal character, I can understand the depth that goes into a raid. Crims being annoying and "pissing you off" is both none of my concern and not at all the topic at hand. A game mechanic, that allows law enforcement to simply bolt cut into someone's house and is upsetting MANY people (so don't come at me sideways saying something shouldn't be removed just because it bothers "me"), a game mechanic that is not available for criminals to use, should probably be reworked to find a happier medium. The TLDR here truly is that we're a roleplay community, we're supposed to be creating enjoyable (or at least hopefully kind and positive???) scenarios for the people we're interacting with (and if you use the argument that getting arrested isn't enjoyable or dealing with criminals isn't enjoyable I will kick, scream, and cry out of frustration because you're just not getting the point obviously). If an ALLOWED game mechanic is producing a negative outcome for someone EVERY TIME, don't you think it should be looked into? Or are we all just cool with the mentality "You might be upset for a couple of weeks but oh well, you'll come back"? -
Increase Required Escalation for Raids or Remove them Completely

So people are unhappy and demotivated for days or even WEEKS, but it's simply not a big deal because they didn't fully "quit", which justifies keeping a game mechanic that bothers people? -
Increase Required Escalation for Raids or Remove them Completely
idgafashlee replied to quixotic's topic in Archive
Should raids go away entirely? Maybe not. Should raids be reworked with defined rules so there's a conducive system that is as fair as possible to all parties involved? Absolutely. The boundaries of raiding need to be re-evaluated by staff and clearly defined for everyone involved. Offline raiding is a joke, this is an RP server, not Rust. -
Police weapon roleplay suggested change.
idgafashlee replied to Teenyinnit's topic in Rules Suggestions
+1! I think this is a great suggestion as it promotes roleplay (and that's what we are all here to do right?)!! I think many have fallen victim of being tased for "no reason" or more-so tased without warning and unsuspecting of the fact it's about to happen. I think something as simple as giving some type of warning (you gave excellent examples) should be simple enough and promote roleplay; as the criminal then has to make their next choice wisely as opposed to immediately being incapacitated without warning. I believe that some LEO's do give this type of warning, but it would nice to see this as a standard within the factions, and this is a suggestion that PD/SD could implement easily. -
+1 More times than not these comments are unnecessary and provide nothing to any roleplay happening in the moment. If someone truly believes the comments they are making (whether they be homophobic, transphobic, sexist, racist, etc.) fits their character and "makes sense" for the scenario, they should have no issue asking everyone for consent.

I want to preface this by saying that I genuinely do enjoy DOC (usually), it’s made bounds and leaps in my time on eclipse and it’s come a very long way in promoting enjoyable roleplay for those with multiple hour sentences. With that being said I’ve been noticing something that both I and others find extremely frustrating (and I’m uncertain if there’s any IC rules and regulations around it). Lockdowns are becoming increasingly more popular recently, these lockdowns are sometimes entirely necessary, and RPly well regulated, but with them occurring more frequently, poor RP promotion is evident within these scenarios. I’m going to touch on two points that I believe have room for major improvement, full DOC lockdowns and individual lock-ups. Full DOC lockdowns: These majorly occur when some type of breach is suspected (example: A radio is missing and an inmate is suspected of having it, a prison riot has occurred, etc.), these lockdowns are necessary to search individuals, secure items that should not be in the cellblock, or perform routine cell maintenance. These lockdowns should not last longer than the time it takes to get everyone in cells and perform required tasks (whether that be searching inmates, etc.). I know getting a large crowd to disperse can sometimes be a task depending on the ratio of on duty guards to inmates, but these lockdowns can usually happen within 10-30 minutes. These are (typically) well executed and an enjoyable RP opportunity, but as of late, it seems like an easy way to throw everyone in cells and more or less leave them there. I’ve witnessed guards both leave everyone in cells for an extended period of time after completing whatever necessary tasks they’ve needed to do, AND leave specific individuals in cells after the lockdown (letting out others but just leaving select inmates) because they don’t feel like dealing with certain people and it’s clearly easier to just leave them in their cell. Individual lockups: This is mostly where my personal frustrations lie within the RP standard of DOC. I whole-heartedly agree there are various situations that warrant locking a specific person into an individual cell or solitary, but it feels extremely ridiculous to leave someone in their cell for the entirety of their multiple hour DOC sentence. People are often talked to about going AFK for extended periods of time within DOC because it doesn’t promote RP, but yet guards will throw individual inmates in cells, with no specified amount of time in mind, and proceed to leave them there as they beg to be put out of their misery of boredom. I have both seen and experienced situations where inmates are put into cells for a lock-up as they've done something a guard has deemed wrong, and then the guard will proceed to clock off shift and log out knowing fully well someone's been locked in a cell unwillingly and will remain there until god knows who clocks in next. Although the hope and goal of locking up an individual is to give them some time to calm down, find clarity, and potentially even reform from their recent wrong-doings; purposefully leaving inmates in cells for unreasonable lengths of time truly only fuels a bigger fire of anger and resentfulness in these situations. I OOCly comprehend the reason why lockdowns are necessary, but despite asking, I don't believe I've ever had anyone explain to me ICly why lockdowns occur (other than, "you've done something bad, I'm locking you in here until I feel like letting you out"). To my understanding there’s a lockdown timer, I’m uncertain if it does not work or is simply unutilized, but I think utilization of this tool would be extremely beneficial. With that being said, any kind of regulations regarding lockdown times would also be both appreciated by criminals, and helpful in maintaining practices and procedures for guards. My suggestion! - Something like being locked down for a prison riot results in a 15 minute lockdown, murder of an inmate while in DOC = 20 minute lockdown, murder of a govt employee while in DOC = 25 minute lockdown, just being a general menace to society and total headache = 10 minute lockdown. Obviously the times for specified reasons are merely examples, but just leaving someone for hours on end is kind of ridiculous. Again, I love DOC, I truly enjoy all of the guards and the roleplay that has recently been promoted. Some of my absolute favorite RP scenarios have occurred in DOC, so it’s extremely disheartening to be tossed in a cell for well over an hour (or the entirety of a sentence) where little to no RP can occur. Similar arguments can be made for those who get locked outside (I’ve even seen instances where people get locked in the dog kennel outside and left out there alone for over 30 minutes), in regards to the lack of promotion of roleplay occurring in these situations. Other ideas pertaining to DOC lockdowns are very much welcome!

It was really the same as any other day in the life of a criminal, so Kira's to-do list was very brief. to do: 1. hang out with my favorite underground homies 2. make the lives of any and all LEO's a living hell 3. look cute as hell doing it The day started off simple, really. The plan was to rob a store, maybe even two. Make some quick cash, do a little evading if necessary, give literally everyone in her vicinity an attitude, the usual things. So that exactly what Kira did! The Underground, and a few others grabbed their bikes and rallied at the HQ to get things started, but what's the point of even hanging out with the homies if you're not going to invite everyone's favorite dog of Los Santos (Wolfgang, obviously... keep up) to come along with! So the shenanigans began, multiple stores were successfully robbed, everyone was able to evade the police more than once, and then the worst news possible came over the radio. "Arrroooo" was a call of distress from Wolfgang as the police successfully cornered him, and were approaching Wolfgang rapidly to make their arrest. And just like that, the game plan for the day had tentatively changed. The updated game plan was as follows. to do: 1. save Wolfgang 2. make the lives of any and all LEO's a living hell 3. look cute as hell doing it To sum it up, the game plan didn't go exactly as planned. Underground showed up to DOC, prepared to stop Wolfgang's transport into DOC, and get him back home safely. Unfortunately they under-estimated the lengths people would go to assure Underground didn't get their way, and that Wolfgang would get booked in DOC. Helicopter's deploying officers on to roofs, DOC guards set up for their arrival, when it was all said and done, Wolfgang was certainly not rescued, but the night wasn't over. Not even able to get back to the city from DOC, the plot thickened for the crew. When Melody made the call-out over radio that the police were chasing her and she couldn't shake them, it was game on. Underground set up at garbage, ready to help Mel escape the grasps of PD, and the game plan changed once again. to do: 1. help Melody 2. make the lives of any and all LEO's a living hell 3. look cute as hell doing it If you've caught on to any part of this story by now, you've understood that things don't always go exactly as planned, so here's the gist of it. PD and SD have helicopters. UG does not have helicopters! PD and SD have long-ranged weapons, like marksman rifles and such. UG usually has .50 pistols! PD and SD have the ability to fly helicopters at heights pistols do not reach and shoot said long-ranged weapons at the unfortunate souls below. UG smiles and nods as MD puts them on stretchers and transports them to Pillbox! And despite what some would look at as a loss, the fun was far from over for this rambunctious group. 7 underground members were patched up at Pillbox and transported to DOC, with a more high profile transport than the president himself could ever afford if he ever came to Los Santos, and the plan had to adjust a little, but chaos and havoc could certainly still ensue in the depths of DOC. to do: 1. not get "360 no-scoped" by Kourtney and her sniper rifle 2. make the lives of any and all LEO's a living hell 3. look cute as hell doing it Reunited with their good friend Wolfgang, the craziness of Underground continued at DOC. Yelling, many arguments, and a couple thrown punches later, Kira scored herself a brand new pink cast on her left foot (bullets hurt, and can do some real damage to a size 5 foot, but Old man Frank at DOC with the help of MD were truly the stars of the show that night!). Coming off a wicked high from pain killers and anesthesia post foot surgery, Kira was happy to finally get some rest for the night in her home away from home, but little did she know even more Underground would be joining the DOC madness the next morning. Kira was pleased with the arrival of 5 more Underground members the next day. Why they were here? Who cares. The craziness was about to begin again, and pink cast or not, Kira would hobble to that craziness if necessary. Kira and her pink cast would hobble anywhere to be with her family.

"We have one rule and one rule only, you need a cool camping hat." Max and Kira were always desperately looking for their next source of fun, and on an average day driving around to find cars to chop they found just that. Their next big idea. Four wheels, three doors, much nicer than those RV's you see people cooking meth out of in Sandy, a camper. They wanted one, no, needed one. A little less than a week later, it was theirs. So the fun could officially began, and of course they were going to bring all of their friends from Underground. "Everyone make sure you have your buddy, and get in the camper!" And just like that they were off, well kind of. In normal hooligan UG style someone got so excited about the camping trip they fell off a roof and the first stop of the trip was Pillbox MD, but everyone got patched up, packed up, and they left the city. Now the camper was beautiful, full of personality and long last memories, but more than anything the camper was slow... "Are we there yet?" "This thing maxes out at 100, no we're not there yet!" "Are we still not there yet? I think I might be sick back here in this thing!" They did make it to their destination, eventually. It may have been a very long and bumpy ride, but they made. Those who were easily car sick (Sorry James), and those with small bladders who don't plan ahead before a road trip (Thanks Will) were amongst some of the first out as the entire underground crew climbed out of the back of the camper. It was clear skies, warm weather, and immediate shenanigan's. "How about a game of truth or dare?" We all should have known how badly that would end, shame on us. Known for being nothing less than chaotic in the city, they were equally if not more chaotic up north. The anarchist group, who made their names known by targeting the government, kidnapping government employees, killing PD officers, totaling cruisers, and hiding felons with active charges were learning to thrive in the wilderness, but the chaos certainly wasn't left in the city. The thrill-seeking bunch found themselves cliff diving into lakes, jumping over (or drunkenly walking through) the campfire, and attempting to steal Max and Kira's camper at every chance. "Josh, if you get in the drivers seat of my camper one more time, I will actually kill you." "I'll give you $20" "Tadd and Ronin, don't encourage him!" "Well.. nobody died. We can chalk this up as a win." There were fights, there were laughs, there were a few hospital trips, and there was a whole lot of threats (mostly made by me). It was an adventure, it was something new and different, it was UG moving out of the city for a few days to reek havoc up north in Paleto. What it was above all that was team bonding, and a way for the group to come back together stronger as ever after the holidays. There's always more to come with UG, this trip sparked new ideas for the crazy crew. They thought of the different things they could do in and out of the city, laughed about the ways they could continue to make PD's life a living hell. It was a new year, and the group was thriving like never before. "Are we home yet?" "I will turn this camper around, and leave you all on Mount Chiliad."

To say the least, Syndicate didn’t work out well for Tadd and Kira. A short lived gang with lots of hope and drive, but little chemistry crumbled quickly after Tadd and Kira were threatened for trying to save one of their own. They didn’t let their new “lone ranger” status get them down though, in fact they began reigning hell all over the city. Within a matter of weeks the two of them had racked up more police arrests and pursuits than the average gang with 20+ members would. They found joy in avoiding gang politics and messing with law enforcement officers at every given opportunity. Their names became well known quickly by government officials and criminals alike. Between numerous evasions, an ungodly amount of store robberies, and a handful kidnapping of government official charges, Tadd and Kira were wanted criminals and in and out of jail constantly. The two ran through the city carefree, making friends (and a few enemies) everywhere they went, creating absolute chaos, constantly making the law enforcement officers day a living hell, and even securing their own cell at DOC. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ High stress situations show cracks in our law enforcement system, and if there was anything Tadd and Kira were good at doing, it was creating the biggest headache of a situation possible. Stacked charges, unlawful arrests, and wrongful detainments were something PD seemed to specialize in. The two could admit when they were wrong, and would plead guilty to the charges they knew they were guilty of, but quickly saw additional charges getting added and subsequent years stacked to their sentences. These charges didn’t always make sense, and it seemed they were getting placed for no reason other than the two were getting under law enforcement's skin. The stacked charges and overall attitude of everyone involved got old quickly, corruption was everywhere, and something had to change for these two. That’s when they met JB, and The Underground opened a world of possibilities they never realized was possible. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Approached by numerous gangs after leaving the Syndicate, they avoided new groups and focused on pissing off the government, that is until The Underground approached them. A group of anarchists, focused on freedom and resisting government authority, it was a match made in heaven. They joined and adapted immediately, already knowing Chad Rapkov and a number of the other members. They felt they had found their new home. It wasn’t long before they reigning terror on the city with a new group, and recruiting their old friends to join the movement. Joined by Kira’s new fiancé, ex Lost MC president Max Dawson, the trio felt unstoppable, but with Max’s departure from the lost there was a lot more to worry about than just evading cops. The city was about to get a lot more complicated for the three, but they had a plan, a new found home in the underground, and enough wit and motivation to take on the whole city. For the people, by the people; The Underground was their family now. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
