FearRP, Ruleplaying, NonRP, and Law enforcement.
astrx replied to Demonmit1's topic in Rules Suggestions
No, LFM does not "allow LEO to break rules", ridiculous way of taking that to be honest. Although I do really like your idea of a pager, used by a command, to alert off-duty online officers. I personally do not like the pager system either, and that is coming from a player who has EXTENSIVE experience with LEO and Criminal roleplay. I think it's a silly thing but unfortunately it's a thing, so we have to deal with it. -
What I am getting from this whole thread is "we don't get enough money". The updates are not the issue, all of you are, change your mindset, not everything is about money and assets.
-
This is a horrible take. You're essentially saying, "this sounds silly, let's take away roleplay from a roleplay server so I can get away with crimes better". -1, roleplaying camera's is a very much normal thing that has been happening for years, furthermore, ATM's would realistically have cameras. as a lot of them do in real life.

Reduce All criminal charges sentence length by at least HALF.

Although I agree a SMALL decrease across the board could benefit the server, I have to agree and echo what @Spizor has stated. The mindset of the criminal community here is what the issue is, always wanting to do things but then complain when you get charged for it. If your mindset is, fucking let's do crimes then when we get caught let's shoot the cops whilst we are heavily outnumbered ( this is just a singular example, the same goes for other situations too). I have to ask if you can truly gauge what roleplay is actually about. Following this, after doing all of your crimes and getting the time because of your decisions, making a thread about it and complaining is truly remarkable. My criminal doesn't get arrested very aften because I choose not to make silly decisions to lessen any mistakes I could make. If you want to shoot cops and you get caught lacking, then that's on you, you have to deal with the time you have been given. I personally do not like going to DOC, not because it's an "AFK Simulator" which is a terrible thing to call it by the way, mostly because I don't want to do the time, so I don't do the crimes that would give me such time. If I do the crimes then I am extremely cautious which a lot of players are not. DOC doesn't have to be a place where you "have to sit AFK and wait for the jtime to run out", it can also be fun, the girlies showcased this. Whilst I was SADOC Guard a couple of years back, we had a lot of fun with the players inside of there, always letting people do things and also joining in on activities, now I cannot comment on what they do now as I am unsure, but I am sure that if you offer roleplay, people will join in. Additionally, as @alexalex303 has also stated, the charges max cap has already been reduced, twice. I am unsure of how much further you want that to go. Say we do get another decrease, I can guarantee that another thread like this will pop up in the future, wanting another decrease. TLDR; Stop making decisions you cannot stand the consequences, have fun, make roleplay and don't just sit AFK, then magically and all of you troubles will go away. -
I think one of the main issues is that there are no singular keybinds left, that is why I would imagine that the U menu was created. If there was a seatbelt, which I very much support as a suggestion, it would likely have to go in there or be a command.

I personally love this idea as well, as being in the same factions, consisting of Illegal Street Racing. I buy cars as I love the look of them but when it comes to evading or racing, it's a pointless choice to choose them, these can be; ZR350, RT3000, Kanjo SJ, etc. Instead I choose the Jugular, Issi Sport, Shinobi, etc, as these cars are the quickest and give an actual chance rather than just losing over and over and over, there is only a certain extent where "skill" can take you and even if you're the best of drivers, the first set of vehicles just don't cut it. I too would love to see a performance update for the vehicles or some form of update to driving to where you can truly drive any car you want without having to worry about being at a major disadvantage. I understand this can be construed as "not wanting to lose", let's be honest nobody wants to lose, and the lower performing vehicle basically guarantee that.

I love what @AtlasOLimbohas suggested regarding businesses, I would like to go into more detail with it. Personally I would love a completely new system for food related businesses, this is honestly such a necessary thing to have added as there are plenty of players with already existing food related businesses or players that would love to make but it's difficult without the support to have a unique business. Yes I understand that you can roleplay and give a related item; i.e a sushi restaurant that roleplays making different dishes but then just hands over a fish. This is great for roleplay but a little underwhelming for both parties involved in said roleplay. I suggest that the system consists of; A interface similar to the existing Burgershot and civilian crafting menus where it can be business specific. You can create a unique menu of your own business items, such as a pizza place of course having a range of pizzas to sell. Allow the items being created to have a name and also include an image to truly make these items unique (with AI, it's really easy nowadays to create a good looking image for the food item). When making food items as stated in the first bullet point, possibly allow each item to have the option of giving some form of buff or de-buff, similar to the drug effects. This could be that coffee gives temporary speed boost, as it contains caffeine or having a highly fatty food such as a burger dehydrates you and makes you slower as it would make you feel shitty, etc. Should be a possibility I understand that this would have to be highly regulated as it is easily abusable. The invoice system that @AtlasOLimbo also made is a great addition for businesses, this allows the business to actually be paid and then makes a hierarchy of management/staff necessary instead of it being an "if you want to". Paying through an invoice would give the players a order number card, where they can pick up their order when ready at a Countertop (next bullet point) this would also allow payments be paid directly to the treasury of the business. A countertop system would be nice too, instead of personally having to "hand over" everything to players separately, this would allow business staff to place the order items into a "Countertop" where it's locked through the order system, similar to what Burgershot has (as mentioned in the previous bullet point). Having a unique system to allow businesses to have their own identity with their own food and different effects would allow players to have a great experience and maybe make them want to work there too. I truly think this would make a massive difference for the server in general and will give players a more engaging experience and have a lot of fun whilst doing it. Thank you for reading my TED Talk x.

I will echo what Lewis has said. Comments regarding the "current state of LEO" or anything similar will not be accepted here. This a thread to suggest actual additions to the server and quality of life updates, please don't schizo post. If anything like this is posted it will be removed and warnings will be given.

@DontSniffSugar you have severe problems. -
-1, although I respect some players do want to roleplay, the majority of the time with this would be players abusing it to get out of situations they don’t want to be in. This is just a case of a small group ruining it for everyone.

I will have to HEAVILY disagree with this reply. I do believe that this could improve roleplay and bring more interaction between players. This could make a union or even a clean up event where players band together to clean the city. There are many avenues that something like this could take. In the future when replying to suggestions, give your criticism, do not outright call a suggestion trash, all players are able to make their suggestions and other players can reply to them with praise or concern, try being a little bit better worded next time.

Could also implement dumpster diving too which would have a loot table that could be recycled. (If this has been said already im sorry, there is a lot of text)

I do love this idea it’s very well thought out and I would love to see it. However, I share the same opinion with Quiet, a ‘customised’ plate no matter the depth just sounds unnecessary. +1 nonetheless.

To have a faction, there faction needs to have some form of lore based around it, so you're being asked what this means to you. I cannot give any tips nor answers as this is for you to answer in your own words to see how you answer it. A "PvP/Clapper" faction are what players state faction are that focus on playing PvP and playing into lab culture (rolling labs, robbing people and generally holding labs all day). This term is distasteful and no faction should be referred to as this. Any and all factions play their own part in the community and should be respected for what they do. There is no answer to give for the final three questions as neither of the terms apply in their own respect. As said previously, all faction provide their own contributions to the community in their own way. There are factions that focus on roleplay and lore and then some enjoy to PvP. Everything is personal preference and you should do what you want to do on the server, but focussing solely on PvP is not a good mentality to have, as this is a roleplay server after all. Hope this helps.

Detective roleplay has a lot of avenues of RP that a player can experience and being a player that has had a Detective character, it is extremely fun and interesting. It most definitely is not what you are describing. This is a discussion that didn't need to be made, I'm unsure if it was supposed to be some sort of joke or not, but it's rather passive aggressive and calls out other players' roleplay, as such I will be closing this discussion.

COMPLETELY delete public lab tables and chop shops.
astrx replied to Demonmit1's topic in Criminal Suggestions
I honestly kinda fuck with this idea. One main issue I have is with some of the pre-built lab locations such as Cove. This is a really nice area that people used to go chill at and have a good time with friends, now there is just a big ugly structure there and disallows people from using it as a place to be able to go to. Allow players to place tables and plant weed where ever. The only downside I see to this is, it's somewhat constitutes as "private labs", where players can find an extremely far away location and just cook with a small chance of being found and getting more drugs and money without interaction. Other than that, this idea is great. -
Please stay on topic, I understand wanting to vent frustrations and such but keep this topic to replying about the OP's suggestion.

I am going to be against this suggestion personally. This sounds fun on paper but in practicality, this could easily be used against it's intended purpose for people to add people 'they don't like' to and then see if they're online to go and do what they want. For example, two gangs are beefing and they add each other to said panel and then when seeing that they are online they can abuse that to go at each other, whether shooting or other ways, which would also be used to see if they are offline to do other things without repercussion. I like the theory but it would turn out in a bad way, in my opinion. As Kopi said above in this thread, should someone be important to you, then you would realistically know the person, how to contact them and where they usually would be.
