Personally I'm generally fine with stuff like this as pixels are pixels however I know on one of my characters I have an item I wear that was a gift from an IRL friend who is deceased now so I think if I had an accidental silly and lost it because of that would be gut wrenching. The idea is solid but the foundation of it being for loot gain for a couple bucks just feels to endorse PvP not roleplay. On that basis this is a -1. Reworded it could be better. Side note when was player made jewelry added into eclipse?

The REAL reason ECRP is in it's current state. (Opinion Piece)
Dred replied to Marksy's topic in Forum Suggestions
Ill beg to differ.. MAYBE ITS CHANGED and god i hope it has and I'm wrong because i quit crim over the dog and GND crap. As a legal and crim and I've reported this to LFM. I've been given and seen "/me takes the dog out" /"do would anything illegal be sniffed?" On my crim when she was 7 months clean but had a magical GND file being investigated because they just exist forever. I've also seen on my legal on code 1s. I'm glad you state SDs working on making them stricter and that's hopefully a great step in the direction because the current one doesn't work. In my personal experience I had the handler say "/do would any drugs guns bombs gunpowder or substances be noticed?" when i questioned it in /b of how its possible i was met with "stop b and rp" Literally every single possible thing. In one line. K9s are free power gaming and I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment. -
Only require checkups for flight school if the char has a condition

In respect and understanding monotony of doing things on repeat being frustrating. This is still very much role-playing happening and this feels massively like an IC issue to be ran from LSEMS command/ high command/AMU as well as SAAA leadership. I understand it's annoying truly I do. But this does feel like an issue perhaps LSEMS and SAAA can work on ICly. -
I absolutely 100% announce myself as a competitor to @Harveyyy as her biggest fan.

+1 to the private reports section for the harassment and most of this overall. As far as GrossRP in regards to ANYTHING of a sexual nature, I most certainly agree in that regard. There are other GrossRP's like some minor torture and the like a lot of us have been guilty of partaking in and I still feel with consent it's completely okay as long as limits are discussed. I had a very long ongoing RP with my legal character and @Carl Vespucciwhere he took A TON of time to reach out to me OOCly about what's okay and not okay and constantly check OOCly on comfort levels where my character was tortured and I feel in the regards of that. It can still be okay on that GrossRP realm with all parties understanding and As said and agreed by the playerbase and staff in general though that most of that nasty sexual natured GrossRP just has no home here. This was very well said Bala and well put forth.

Again, Without knowing how staff operates on an internal understanding. This post does not read as what you're asking at all. At the end of the day. Reports aren't just going to "stop" or honestly, from seeing numerous communities and this one too, lessen at all. People report broken rules. Staff view it as broken rules not asset loss. The reports in of themselves are to be labeled petty by the staff handling of which you and I are not. Groups and players are going to report other groups and players regardless of asset loss I promise you. Can you prove that people are reporting for asset loss? Is there a way you can show it with undeniable proof? Because even denied reports. You can see pretty well where they were coming from assuming rules may have been broken. You can have the assumption people report for loss of items only. And you know what? Is it actually petty if you spent weeks grinding as a solo crim or whatever for 85k worth of stuff just for some big group to steamroller you and break rules and take your stuff and nulifiy what you grinded for? I'm a big preacher of roleplay over assets. But again without the ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL information on how staff actually handles reports and refund requests all this reads as, to me, is "don't do bad activities and risk stuff even if you lose it to rule breakers you shouldn't have been there."
-
I'm not staff but if you're asking questions like that. You're nullifying half of your original topic and should see if that's a case staff is doing. Finding out more information on how they're handled and what happens in the entireity of a refund request seems it should be crucial to this post versus saying "hey make it harder to get a refund for items you lost" It still doesn't negate the fact that this entire thing, no offense, just makes no sense. It's on the grounds of "lol don't be a crim or don't do bad stuff. Sorry you lost to rule breakers and lost stuff you grinded for". If you have the questions like you asked me on how staff handles them. Seek out staff and actively get all the information of how punishment and refund requests tie together and maybe re write this post because it truly just feels like taking aim at people who unfairly lost should just suck it don't do bad activities in the server.

-1 I fail to understand the point of this. It feels unnecessarily driving a wedge between staff and players who expect to trust staff to enforce broken rules. Just because you're a criminal doing dangerous activities you deserve to lose on assets you would've kept if the roleplay situation was properly played out? That means if John Bob walks in. Guns down and outright death matches Billy Jim he gets to keep Billy's 100AP and AK and whatever else and just take a deathmatching punishment and Billy is just told "lol don't be a crim. Sorry you lost your stuff do less dangerous activities" why is he not allowed to get compensation for having server rules broken against him? The whole reports feel petty comment is just out of left field. You're absolutely allowed to feel a certain way reading over the reports. It's up to staff to decide the validity and appropriate course of action in terms of server rules. It's why they follow their Staff Master Policy.

I agree entirely. Rape and SA aren't "positive contributions of a roleplay environment" in any way shape or form whatsoever. If someone genuinely feels that performing massively perverted sexual assault rp is positive in any light then they are just sadly mistaken. I guarantee everyone here in this community knows someone who's experienced this kind of action in real life as a victim or a witness or as a loved one to a victim. Whether they know about that persons story or not is another matter but everyone here knows someone who's been through something like SA or Rape or SH. Like everyone said this is still a game, roleplay or not, we're here to have fun and escape reality at times. We're not here to be included into the nastiest demons in someone's twisted sense of "humor" or thoughts. This kind of "roleplay" needs to just be unallowed entirely.

Allow cutting the rope to an ATM while it's still being GPS tracked.
Dred replied to Dred's topic in Game Suggestions
Which is still okay. But you have to look in the realm of realistic opportunity and risk and reward like I stated previously. It makes absolutely zero sense on a realistic level that the rope can't be cut because it's got a GPS tracker in the machine. I'd say also if you cut it and it wasn't recovered would it not fall onto the fault of the responding department to recover stolen goods? I get that people could abuse that and it would become unfair to an extent but at the same time would you not consider it quid pro quo? A crim gave up their reward to secure themselves and their vehicle being impounded or destroyed. If they returned to the area and goods weren't recovered? Well at that point I see a few things with potential to be implemented to counter that abuse of a mechanic. 1. If you cut the rope you can't attach a new rope to it. You've essentially killed your opportunity and as they say in golf. "Play it where it lies" 2. Which is my personal favorite and I think one crims and legals would agree with the most. If you detach the rope the GPS never dies. And I can explain why. Say the GPS only deactivates because the machine takes damage enough to break the tracker. So if it stops moving it stops taking damage therefore the GPS stays alive. I'm fully aware as playing a legal and crim actively both that it's well known that sometimes the later hours in the server people abuse the low LEO count to do more daring things. However let's look into roles a slight bit to give opportunity for everyone. Would it be unfeasible if a detective or officer watched it until it was completely secured to ensure the goods were recovered? -
Hello everyone, I attempted my first ATM theft just for shits and giggles, new concepts gotta try them right? and I saw only one issue that is confusing to me in the realm of realism. As Claire and I learned certain cars just struggle to high hell and beyond dragging an ATM which is completely acceptable and understandable. Some cars probably are going to underperform in comparison to others. Like I wouldn't imagine people regularly taking like a Niobe like we did to steal an ATM versus like a kamacho or something offroad or stronger and better suited to steal a large machine as an ATM. However, where I draw issue up is once we learned we were not going to pull an evasion off and get the ATM because the car was struggling so much we decided to cut the rope and cut our losses however we got blocked by script saying "you can't detach while it's being tracked" which I struggle to find any semblance of how it makes sense that you can't cut a fiber rope because a GPS tracking device is active inside the stolen machine. I get wanting to promote roleplay and I understand the chase. They are generally a lot of fun. However, I feel there shouldn't be any script limitation to cutting a fiber rope when a GPS is attached to the machine and not the rope? We call into question a lot in ECRP risk vs reward. I feel taking the risk of stealing an ATM for a reward is present however after weighing that we severely hurt ourselves attempting this with an unsuitable vehicle we should've had the option to cut our losses versus being forced into the risk of waiting out a timer. I also feel like even if this were to be implemented the risk and reward factor is still there as investigators and detectives can easily run cameras or get fingerprints however they need to do detective work if the rope was cut pre-maturely due to weighing out the risks and rewards and ditching the ATM.

Huge +1 making things more immersed IC would be awesome vs just commands. Let's be real for crims out there how many ACTUALLY memorize phone numbers and can rattle it when making a friend in DOC. I know numerous players are guilty of running /stats to remember it on a whim. Massively agree on a bank overhaul app as well as faction and salary being included to the phone. I would also love to see texts overhauled in a phone update. If you've ever tried taking screenshots via scrolling your phones texts for RP reasons to show someone your texts then you know how awful it is with it constantly auto scrolling screwing that up. Just a big +1 overall to get a rework.

+1 massively on only allowing the UI to whoever purchased the contracts and A HUGE +1 TO ANOTHER NPC. Numerous times poeple just camp on the roofs or across the street and wait for someone to purchase a house robbery and snag them on the way out, It feels very meta that it happens.

So I don't intend my response to come across negatively or rudely so please do not assume it as such but merely as a mute irl who's been on ECRP for close to 2 years with an opinion who actively plays crim and legal. However I feel I should input on this. While I certainly can understand the wanting to have it easier to have an alt+x command to enter demands or shouting at someone to stop/get on your knees et cetera it just seems rather redundant and unnecessary. I've interacted with a lot of legals and crims and 90% of the community is receptive to someone who doesn't speak. Even PD I've been in altercations with took the time to type let me roleplay because it's a scene for everyone. I think what Astrx said is 100% perfectly reasonable with using AHK. I do use AHK for things like MEDEVAC radio callouts when you're having to type lines of rescue RP as well as pilot the helicopter from shit clapping chilliad. AHK is very very useful and not hard to set up at all and I see no reason, personally, to input it as an alt+x command when all of the alt+x commands are emoting and AHK exists and I doubt many people would have a problem with an AHK run line of "stop running or else". Ontop of that my secondary reason for being against alt+x for a physical voiced command is its completely completely cross character. Every player can do it. Let's say you're...a cop right? @Astrx and @Akio will be great examples heres. Every crim knows who they are and generally it's a mutual respect. Let's say they're around a bunch of crim characters chit chatting and hit the WRONG alt+x command and issue demands to an entire faction instead of facepalming. Now we've got a massive issue brewing because thise crims might think "oh hells its a setup they were baiting us we're about to be raided" Sure they can fix it in /b but the margin for accidentally turning something hostile very quickly becomes exponentially larger. Solid idea I just think it's not useful with other work around existing.

Date and time (provide timezone): 07/NOV/2023 4:12 AM UTC Character name: Ally Quinn Issue/bug you are reporting: Autlock locking cars after you list them. Expected behavior: Cars at High End/Low End/Paleto Markets should be unlocked to be able to be purchased. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: https://imgur.com/BvSVVUo https://imgur.com/F5Si4ez Basically if you have VIP Autlock enabled and a high enough timer you can actually have autolock trigger AFTER you list a car/vehicle forcing the vehicle to be locked after being listed. The way I did this is in the video. I basically pretyped /sellvehicle 4000 and then went and got on the bike right at the sell spot and ctrl+v and entered it before autlock enabled the lock of the bike and when going to the bike you can see when I press F to get on it, it's going to the nearest vehicle and the bike is now unable to be checked on mods or gotten on to /buyvehicle Vehicle license plate number*: TT0KVLEP is the plate of the bike I purchased cheaply just to re-crate this for the forum report.

Honestly from doing a lot of the CRU work ICLY for the past year. This feels massively targeted towards 1 player in particular and restricting someones opportunities to role play. The fact of the matter is mental illness is such a broad topic irl so if we're going to restrict someone being animal. We're going to need ooc consent for PTSD. now that we restricted PTSD it's time to restrict BPD and now that we're restricting BPD it's time to restrict simple depression. I'm going to break the ice and outright say that I do believe this is an attack against Wolfgang Bathshebas character which has a MULTI YEAR recorded IC history and when things get sketchy ICLY that the player of said character checks for OOC consent to keep players comfortable. This request feels massively and unnecessarily targeted and taking away from MD factions role-playing opportunities and from role-playing opportunities from the player base as a whole. -1
