Don't require GPS item in inventory (if phone is on)

Have the GPS functionality tied to whether your phone is on or off.

GPS in car inventory if you want to keep your phone off.

Pros: free item slot, realism

what goofballs are still running around irl with a damn Garmin or Tomtom in there pockets all the time, rather than Google or apple maps on your phone? Should just delete GPS items entirely and make it a function of you characters phone.

Remove the gps completely as an item. 

You dont even need it in your phone. What's the downside of it? Literally 0.

let it be an option, i still want to sometimes have my phone out, yet be able to read the map, 
also it would be cool to have the option, to secure your gps and car radio in your car btw, and let it only be able to be taken out by a that circle UI thing, for at least 10 seconds

Yeah I don't mean remove the items, just not make them something you HAVE to have in your pocket. Map item still exists if you want to view the map whilst phone is off, again much like irl.

Agreed, speaker and GPS removal from car should be a small action timer

+1, BUT.
Make it an app you can toggle on and off. and make it drain power faster then if you have the map off.

not a lot, but enough that you feel it. Gives the phone charges more uses. I haven't had to use mine in months.

Not sure I completely agree with the phone needing to be on for the GPS system in a vehicle to work. My phone can be off irl and my nav system still works in my irl car.

This just makes sense in all honesty, add separate individual slots for GPS and Car Speaker in the same ui as the glovebox, still keeping the 10 vol and 6 slots within the glovebox itself.

I don't know if you're responding to someone else or my initial suggestion, but I did say use a GPS in glovebox for it if you want phone off.
So keep the GPS and Map items, but make it so you dont HAVE to have it in your inventory to see it if your phone is on. But the item can still remain
