I kind of began thinking of this after reading ArcAngel's Civilian Super Post, if you haven't read it already I recommend you do, it is a good read. My idea is related to some of the ideas they wrote up, but I did not want to clutter up their thread with something only semi-related. This would be something that would benefit the entire server, rather than just civ or crim rp, but would I think help promote basic civ rp over all.

 

Health & Fitness System

 

So what would they be? They would be an invisible stat for your character, with the ability to check it (for a certain price) either free through an EMT/AMU doctor(100% certainty), through Henry(85% certainty) at 1,500, or the black market doctors(65% certainty) at 500. The varying certainty rates would be to promote roleplay between civs and the EMS faction, while also enabling you to not have to wait or rely on getting an AMU appointment.

The health stat would be the all over health of your character, different from the currently incorporated HP system on the server, it would determine how healthy your character is over all, such as:

-How quickly they recover from injuries.

-How likely they are to get sick.(Incorporating ArcAngel's sickness idea and expanding upon it only slightly)

-How quickly they recover from sickness.

The ways your character could keep their health up would be very simple and outlined below with the fitness system which would directly impact the health system:

 

Fitness

Eating better(first off choosing to have them eat a submarine or sandwich, and drinking water over a burger, donut, fries, chocolate, and soda until we get more recipes which would benefit this).

Getting injured less often would boost the fitness as well(this would be an invisible counter/timer that would slowly tick down over time from your characters last injury).

Exercising, this I will expand upon below even further:

 

Exercise

We already have exercising equipment in the server, and I think we could put these things to actual real use. It would take some scripting along with making sure the animations on them run correctly, but even little things such as having your character walk(over driving I know yes boo me as you must) would help boost the fitness and cardio stat.

Cardio stat? What is that? I hear you asking, well it's incorporated into the exercising portion. You have your cardio, strength and power stats correlating to their real life counterparts, these would impact your characters in huge ways that I think the server would like:

Cardio stat would improve your characters stamina(sorry, no more infinite stamina) enabling them to run for longer as well as improving your characters speed stat so that they run and swim faster (small speed boost so that you're not sonic the hedgehog).

Strength stat would make your characters blows do more damage(a small boost so it's not a 1-ohko) as well as reduce the amount of damage you take from melee blows(no one is superman or the hulk, you're not tanking bullets no matter how strong you are).

Power stat would increase the chances of you getting small speed boosts when running, and fast swimming.

These stats could also be implemented on a minute few of the crim related objects such as: smashing an ATM would take less blows with a higher power/strength stat(I do not play a criminal character often so feel free to add on to any other activities you think the stats would help for crims).

These would be visible stats in contrast to the invisible health & fitness stats. They would require (semi-regular) minigames so that you are active and present and not just afk farming the stat to boost your character to 100% across all three stats. These stats would also go down at a reduced but regular rate and over-doing the stats would not cause an over-flow, 100% is the maximum with no hidden boost, you could stay at the gym as long as you want but the stat will (slowly) begin to tick down over time, it won't be allowed to fall beneath 100% for a certain amount of time(subject to dev discretion), and the 100% boost for the stat will remain until it dips below a certain percentage so you don't feel like you constantly NEED to be on top of it to make sure your crim/leo is in tip-top shape.

Now, exercise doesn't automatically mean you are the healthiest person to ever health. You could have 100% all 3 stats, but your character could still be unhealthy, and not all the time will the boosts to the exercise stats come from the machines.

 

Illicit Gains

Steroids would be reworked on the server, sold in a small amount from EMT/AMU to characters looking to get a small but beneficial starting boosts to their stats, the ones sold from EMT/AMU would have a minimal impact on your characters health and fitness. However, the black market doctors also have their own stashes, bigger boosts but bigger drawbacks, you could take it for larger boosts to your characters exercise stats, but it would have a bigger impact on your characters health and fitness, would the gains outweigh the cons? That would be up to you to decide. Your character *needs* a strength boost before a big fight? Visit a black market doctor and dose up, they might win the fight, but they'll lose in other ways with their health.

 

Health

Your health stat gets low enough, it could begin impacting your exercise stats, after all, can you run fast while coughing your lungs out? Can you power-lift if you're on the edge of having a heart attack?

Yes, you heard me, heart attacks would be something very real and very possible for your character if their health stat drops low enough, these would be impacted by:

Regular drug use.

Unhealthy eating.

Unhealthy lifestyles.

A low health stat would cause your exercise stats to grow at a slower rate, and drop at a faster one. It would cause you to get sick a lot more often, recover slower from injuries, run out of stamina faster, punch weaker, cause your character to slow down when running or fast swimming.

 

I don't expect many people to like this, but I think it'd be largely beneficial to the server, it'd impact crim and leo rp for sure, if your characters had to suddenly start hitting the gym so that they aren't being tackled and punched out as often. Let me know your thoughts, and your suggestions as to how this could be improved upon!

the current meta is to use an exploit, download a modded single player file save that has all the stats maxed out, so your character in game can have unlimited sprint, jump from higher places without ragdolling, etc. having a scriptly supported health and fitness system will fix this exploit SO MANY people use. would be great.

the only -1 i have is for swimming. dont need a boost for nonRP swimming that people already exploit every day.

Giving me some GTA: San Andreas vibes with this one!

Some ideas for the exercise to expand upon it:

Have a fatigue stat that when exhausted you can’t exercise until it at least partially recovers (Say 25%)

Have this Fatigue stat tick down slower the better your cardio and strength stat is for their respective activities.

Have your food and water stat tick down faster when exercising.

Have different levels of gym equipment I.E. Low Level (Exercise Bike/Free weights), Mid Level (Treadmill/BenchPress), and High Level (Stair Climber/Squat Rack).

The low levels are low gain, but low fatigue loss while the high equipment high gain but high fatigue.

This is where the system comes together:

Have an exponential gain/loss system; where as your stats go up for Cardio/Strength, you are incentivized to go to higher equipment just as it will incentivize you to start on low equipment if you aren’t in shape. Where being low-stats and going to high drains your fatigue so quickly that you really don’t have returns for the stats you would gain. On the flip side, if you are high stated, you’ll want to go to the higher level equipment, as you’ll have to spend hours on low level equipment to see any meaningful progress, despite the slow drain off your stamina. Would need a creative formula for this one.

Lastly, populate DOC/a public gym with low level equipment to improve the DOC RP by giving something else to do, and civs who aren’t locked up. Have it where people can open up a gym and buy the equipment as part of a gym membership business, or have it where people can buy the equipment at home to exercise (I’m not sure the server economy is in a place where a gym could thrive like that but it is wishful thinking.)

calling this an exploit is kind of misleading as the 100% save file is recommended to everyone just to make sure all the areas of the map are accessible

Dosent mean people are not making it happen due to wanting to metagame the advantages on this server.

Aniways, +1. takes me back to sitting in a gym and maxing out my CJ in GTASA.

Wow this health and fitness system looks like a great addition that’ll make gameplay even more immersive and rewarding!

An exploit is wild, i played eclipse for a year + with a semi finished gta v story mode and could not access multiple scripts in the server that were meant to be available readily like for example the mine was not open to me that whole time my stats of my character did not move an inch like the ones you mentioned, running, sprinting, jumping etc so if you don't have the 100% completion offline save file it doesn't change in ecrp you can run for hours your stats don't improve, if it was an exploit the devs would not have fixed the stats in enhanced, the swimming part in the OP's post would maybe bring a change to the NRP rule of swimming if done right this could be major, imagine everyone's stats get reset and ways to improve stats in different fields are added, if you can swim that long without fatigue and or drowning (could be a feature) then GGs if the officer or enemy gang member did not make the effort to get into the same shape and cant keep up or swim as far, same with running, with a slight chance of spraining an ankle based on, as the OP said health and how you have taken care of yourself so on this i +1 so much potential
