I joined eclipse back in 2019 when I was 15 playing on and off the server from that time to now. I’ve tried Medic RP, Weazel, crim. Only thing i haven’t done would be LEO/DOC. Now yes factions have their own set of standards that limit someone’s age whether they get accepted in or not but maturity is also a big factor. I used be to be a medic on one of my alts but due to my age and not being mature enough i struggled with the RP, making radio calls etc… So i left the faction.

For this example I’ll use Bobbias, now i don’t know if DOC has an age requirement/maturity requirement but say it does. I can confidently say that Bobbias RPs extremely well when i interact with him in DOC. Now clearly if you’ve met the kid he’s is young but regardless imo he is very mature and can handle more in depth RP as such. Yall comin on here to try and get an age requirement for the server is not only extremely weird but lowkey creepy as the only real way to accomplish this with actual proof would be for the new player to show some sort of Government issued ID from whatever country your from. We all come on here to play some GTA roleyplay so leave it at that. If you want to go for an 18+ server then leave and find one simple as.

How exactly would this be enforced? ID checks? Making people show their face? Banning anyone with a squeaky voice? That either gets creepy or just doesn’t work. The only semi reliable method I’ve seen is that “send $0.99 to prove you own a bank account” thing and even many people won't wanna do that + minors can have bank accounts and debit cards.

If you go this route, then players will be turned away because who wants to submit their ID or submit a selfie to play gta rp? And what’s the actual point? Eclipse isn’t even a super graphic server compared to GTA 5 Story or online which its likely most people on this server have played both before playing online. If the concern is around gross RP, that’s a separate issue entirely, plus nobody is gonna bring it to you, you have to go out of your way to find it.

also, like others have mentioned in this thread, if someone's not mature enough to RP properly, they usually weed themselves out, and positions like police, medic, other government roles have age requirements. and again players who arent mature enough in these ranks weed themselves out because they cant handle all the protocols, RP standards, radio requirements etc.

This is the de-facto standard. Payments of £0.00/$0.00 to be made via a credit or debit card. It's absolutely not fool proof, but would work to eliminate the problem at the door.

This is not something that I can foresee being implemented into this server. As it has been stated multiple times by others, there are instances where younger individuals are very mature, provide good quality roleplay, and worth being able to play here. People who don't belong on the server get sorted by their ability to follow the server rules. People in factions get appropriately sorted by their ability to follow their factions rules.

I personally would not want people submitting photos of themselves (easily spoofed), identification forms (passport, state/drivers license, etc), nor using their bank account to provide verification (this would all ultimately fall under 3-4 people allowed to do this for good reasons) of age. This is a severe breach of trust to warrant this.

I’m keeping it a buck, I wouldn’t be comfortable looking at several people’s real face, ID, or banking information just for them to be able to play on the server.

I assume every single one of you voting for the age requirement didn’t play GTA or any other M rated (or PEGI 18) game until you turned 17 or 18 right?

-1 It's not admins job to police someone's age, furthermore, I don't believe they should have the right to access your confidential information or even get to know your real name. It's Rockstars responsibility to enforce age requirements as they're legally obliged to.

Seems like vendeta campaign coming from OP regarding the report that was made by under aged person, which makes the whole situation even weirder.
