-1 I don't see a lot of RP value coming from this, It'll just lead to BF400's scouring the city to break into any safe they get a look at. At Least getting held at gun point for your code requires a good amount of RP, you've got to case the area, wait for someone to put in the code, tail them ECT. plus removing an ability to keep something you've earned safe, doesn't contribute to making criminals more fun, just makes it feel more like dayz /rust, when it already feels like the losses you take on a criminal create greater setbacks than on legal civilian or LEO characters.

+1 Drive your ass home. If you're going to RP that when your offline your asleep, it makes 0 sense to sleep in a locker room. Hell, I'd take running to your car and logging off there, RPing that you were to tired to actually drive home so you slept in your car. Logging off in a faction locker room(Any of them) shows a lack effort towards RP that honestly takes the tiniest bit of effort to accomplish. (I've done it, my hands are not clean, But I make an honest attempt to drive my character to and from work every time I play.)

+1 I think the reason this hasn't been messed with is it's probably a desync nightmare. It's hard enough to know if your hat is still on your head, let alone if your weapon is hidden to just you, or everybody(It seems common to have your .50 on your hip/back, and on first logging in,it may not appear on you, possibly this type of de-sync could lead you to think it was hidden when it wasn't.) Concealed carry is a widely known, and common practice in the United States, Weather or not it is legally permissible in Eclipse is an IC factor that could create more RP IE: Concealed Carry License/Charges for concealing a weapon unlawfully. OOC'ly I Disagree with concealed carry But IC'ly I play a redneck I'm sure would be all about it. It's certainly realistic, especially in The United States, to conceal a high caliber pistol. The argument to be made is whether or not you could do it with a specialized holster. (Concealed Carry Holsters both exist, and are expensive.)

Doing away with /report 3 /report 4 and pausing RP.
Tucccci replied to Tucccci's topic in Rules Suggestions
Yes, the type of report your talking about is exactly the type that ties up multiple peoples time. Last night I had an admin situation take up at least 15 people, for nearly 30 minutes. Why should anyone besides you and an admin have their time taken away for an admin situation? I have no doubt people would take some L's over this, but ultimately be fine if they file a report. Do I think other people should have to give up their time roleplaying so you can work out an admin issue? No, and I don't expect other people to do that for me either. This is gonna sound crazy, but think about other peoples time. This would be a huge change, and change the dynamic of roleplay for the better I believe, especially for the sake of immersion. I mean this is the kind of thing you could throw What if's at, and it would be easy to find plenty of times you'd like to pause roleplay to save yourself some personal progression/loss of progression, but this suggestion is ultimately to benefit those who just want to Roleplay, instead of being apart of other peoples OOC drama. -
All too often RP situations completely deteriorate, either when both party's break into /b to argue/discuss the rule break at hand, or when an admin intervenes. When an admin intervenes, the reported party will often be given a firm talking to in front of everyone, and the RP often reset and replayed out. 1. The public nature of /report 3 and /report 4 breeds OOC hostility right then and there ,helping no-one. 2. Situations the are re-role played out rarely feel immersive, as the time that has passed in the pause completely cleanses whatever excitement originally existed in the scenario. 3. One or often both parties leave the situation less fulfilled, and less immersed than if we just let it play out ICly and filed a report on the forums. 4. At least 3 people (reported party, reporting party, admin) Are removed play while they wait who knows how long for the situation to be resolved Many of the paused situations i've been a part of would likely not even constitute a forum report, but still managed to consume in game time. My suggestion to this would be to do away with in game rule break reports all together, allowing situations to play out, insisting on attempting to resolve the issue between parties before hand, and ultimately making a forum report if a rule break is suspected. I'd like to tac on the idea of a rule about not breaking character, and perhaps a scrips that limits the about of /b messages one can send in a given time frame. I don't want rulebreakers to get away with breaking rules, but I am also tired of being a part of paused situations that take away from gameplay time and overall roleplay value, when it would have been easier/more fun to just take the L and make a forum report.

Vehicles taken out from Mors should have 100% gas

1+ just makes sense -
Lets be honest, how many of us have purchased a newspaper? A pack of cigarettes'? Bought a doughnut instead of a hamburger just for RP value? If you've never bought something for RP value, I suggest you try it, it brings more to your gameplay than you'd think. To this end, I say we lean into this, Provide more to people who want to create RP. A clipboard object that simply put your character into a clipboard animation, a camera that does the same, etc. the idea that their needs to be some amount of scripted value to everything seem counter productive to an RP environment. Please suggest other silly/fun items that could bring RP value without necessarily being able to have a scripted use. TLDR:I want more objects/props to add depth/emersion to my roleplay experience. We should add more stuff (Items/objects that change your animation) solely for RP value, whether it brings scripted value or not.
-
+1 this server runs 24-7 if you play during the slower hours you pretty much only have scripted options to basically RP with yourself,so we should diversify those options.
-
I'm RPing that yall caught wind of Dale becoming a cop and gave up crime...JK insane to see y'all leaving, definitely as recognizable on this server as PD/SD any legal faction.

I'm not saying those aren't good representations of american criminal life,What I am saying is low level flag wavers get A LOT of police attention, So when i hear someone complain" waaaaahhhh i got pulled over for no reason" Welcome to gang life son. You got priors? hang out on the block all you want, but best believe 12 is gonna be checking in if they see you got warrants. It is actually hilarious that the massive amount of jail one can encounter STILL is not enough to make criminals think up even a quarter baked semi operational plan to accomplish a crime. they then EXTREMELY predictably get arrested, and then fumble around with an alibi like a toddler with a buzzsaw. then, feeling defeated by the INTENSE lack of foresight or planning, they come to the forums,or complain in /b about how "we should have shorter jail times! that way we could commit our half-baked boondoggles more often!" IRL plenty of bangers see prison time as a mark of honor. Maybe criminal factions could reward prison time somehow? The idea that you would climb the ranks of a street gang without doing serious time seems unlikely to me,not sure how things are these days but OG's used to be able to run things from inside prison. And most of all,I don't think a street gang is a smart criminal enterprise, and therefor criminals within it are just not smart criminals. That's just my opinion based on the fact that i don't like being in jail. So i understand if you feel like the thug life is worth the jail time,i'm sure plenty of people do.
-
So,as far as driving with a warrant,or riding dirty(guns drugs etc) And you get pulled over, your shit is already as good as locked up IRL. the massive amount of fleeing over 10 minute warrants,Or often no warrants at all,is pretty much NRP to me,If you got a bag of weed/an illegal gun/ some other contraband, and you flee from the police, you are a crazy motherfucker, they gonna find you. Most people who flee IRL are drunk/unstable,it's an insanely poor choice and they punish you real hard for it. I may agree that a good criminal isn't always smart. But i'll always argue that a smart criminal is a good one. And if you want to RP as a guy who mouths off in the cruiser on the way to DOC i totally get that, hell, I DO THAT. Also, crips, blood, hells angels etc that's great role play,i'm not saying don't wear your gang colors. But ask a 5 point crip how often he's been locked up,or how often the cops swing by to question him. Being a street level banger get promise you 2 things IRL jail time and bullet holes. The idea that some people want to RP as Suge Knight, but don't know that they should follow the speed limit around cops when they have a warrant, and then ask for a nerf to PD is silly to me. If you don't want to end up in jail/dead just be a legal citizen, make some illegal connections, start a gun collection. Also i'd like to distinguish between avoiding the cops, and running from the cops. Avoiding is taking the long way around LSPD,paying your tickets at SD because of less police traffic, following traffic rules to not draw attention ect. Running from the cops is a desperate thing someone does before they spend a long time in jail. The big take away im going for here is that criminals should step up their game before they ask for OOC nerfs.

Yall sound like you've never been criminals IRL some let me tell you a lil something. Smart criminals don't turn reckless driving into felony evasion. Smart criminals don't recruit and sell guns in the broad daylight of an open area. smart criminals exercise their right to remain silent. Smart criminals don't hangout in the exact same spot everyday doing the exact same illegal shit. Smart criminals AVOID THE POLICE AT ALL COSTS. Smart criminal do not look like criminals. If I thought that the majority of criminals are doing solid RP watching for cops, learning the patrol routes they take,I'd give this a big +1 But from some who is not proud of the criminal I once was(IRL),You are not using your tools. Watching some of the criminals fail to generate an alibi or even a semi believable lie (when these are supposed to be gang lords and what not) Is like watching a police officer not using his handcuffs or not know how to use the radio. As far as faction size,You never win a gunfight against the cops IRL you can buy yourself time to escape, but the idea that you could just kill and kill and kill until no more cops are left to respond,is insanity.(i acknowledge it happens in game but IRL every department in the state would respond) Personally,Balance is a strange thing to take into account here as this is not a cop and robbers server, its a ROLEPLAY server. If the cops are naturally overpowered with commands normal plays don't have,This is considered acceptable because of course an on duty cop would have handcuffs while the average person would not. at the end of the day,its not about providing a balanced cops vs. criminals simulator, its about providing an immersive experience. would the criminals coming out on top more often be a more immersive/realistic experience? I'd argue not with the level of roleplay i've seen.Nor the amount of times i've seen criminals come out on top IRL. being a criminal IRL IS HARD, and if you are RPing as one you should take that in stride. You know your chances of out running the LAPD helicopter IRL? I bet you've gotten away more often in game they anyone ever has IRL. California has a 3 strikes law at your 3rd felony you get life in prison. We'd all be lying if we said that cop killers not spending life in jail is realistic. IMO organized crime is fine, yall dont want to be organized criminals though, you want to be large mobs of solid colored gangbangers, violent enough to be considered domestic terrorists. It makes perfect sense to me that yall get hemmed up constantly based on the piss poor ability of most criminals to simply lay low. Be good,Or be good at it. -1
-
IRL good criminals don't get caught. Be good or be good at it. The risk of jail time adds realistic pressure to illegal activity's in game. Many officers are EXTREMELY lenient, in the face of the OOC effect the sentence will have on the player. To me the balance would lie in making the criminal activity's rewards higher, but that seems like a topic for a different post. By and large i think something should be done, more scripted activity's in jail perhaps (lifting weights, playing basketball ect). or even convert any earned stamps at the end of ones sentence to cash.(as a way to earn SOME type of forward progress in jail, give a reason for other to try and take stamps from one another. ) -1 I Understand the problem but disagree with the fix. OOCly,Getting put in jail/Prison is the most consequential experiences on the server. Personally I feel like character death should be as consequential,it would make fear RP better.

Nothing revolutionary here, just the BLS /CPR class re-skined into and ability that brings your car back to 150 hp or so. just enough to get you to an actual mechanic, much like /cpr only buys the person time for an EMS to come RP the rest. Could taught by a senior mechanic . Could enforce that any command used in the repair of your car (/repair, /fix, ect) must role played out ( /me takes out emergency repair kit from trunk. /me slides a jack under the vehicle raising it to change the tire, ect.) or face the same type of punishment as those abusing the /cpr command.

-1 stay out of my RV. seriously though,a safe is one of the only places in the game you can rest easy knowing your stuff is safe.
-
+1 give it the post op treatment, scripted jobs for in between player orders,Makes RPing as a truck driver worth it again.
-
I Regret this post and the way i made it,i'm going to,and should have handled it IC, and with more maturity,I was simply salty my vigilantism went unrewarded, and i am sorry to have offended.
-
I apologize for the salty post,I do. But the outcome made no sense to me,neither I or the other party got in any trouble,I'd honestly feel little bit of RP satisfaction if the cops came and arrested me because those guys turned the tables on me with good RP,but that's not what happend, one officer let me leave the scene before i should have, give me no room to RP my side of it.and i don't fully intend to be insulting when i ask if your playing dumb cops,if you were all role playing as some version of "officer wiggums" from the Simpsons, then those guy fast talking there way out of it make 100% RP sense to me.If you guys are portraying the entirely corrupt and incompetent US justice system, also 100% believable and But as someone who plays a pretty strictly non gang non criminal, seeing how easily someone could just /me out of a serious crime, its makes perfect sense why the majority of the people on this server play as robbers.

Yesterday i had 2 people break into my home, long story short,i locked them into my rv and drove them to the police station, when i got there, the police seemed happy with me and let me off free to go even though i had an illegal firearm. when i got on the next day, almost 10 minutes into my session,im robbed by the exact same person. he explains to me that somehow he talked his way out of going to jail, even though i personally delivered them to PD. 5 cops and 1 detective are all role playing as law enforcement stupid enough to believe these people were framed or something. so maybe someone rp's as a smart cop? or maybe the department is just grosslt incompentent? and thats the rp they are going for? maybe the leader of the faction need to be replaced since hes done since a poor job training his LEO's
