  1. I think if a deadline can't be given, or a roadmap of what is being focussed on can't be given, any transparency is better than none.

Even if it's just "Hey guys the server keeps crashing because of an update that went wrong. we're working on it, be patient with us" in the announcement channel.

Or "X and Y is why we haven't had an update for so long, we're working on Z and then we're ready to publish an update"

ANYTHING but silence is better than what we have right now.

I’ve named my pet so it is working for me. Have you definitely tried putting the ID in after the command (e.g. /petname 0 NAME)?

The command doesn't use an ID. You get the pet out, then go "/namepet NAMEHERE".

Then if you log off, log back in, your pet will be "Nameless" once again

  3. Reduce the price of everything, make the point of playing about having fun and interacting with people instead of CONSTANTLY worrying about having money.

Bring back old labs, even if it's less realistic, we're trying to make a fun game to play, not an IRL simulator.

Make drugs sold in labs worth more money, or DRASTICALLY reduce the time to make drugs in labs

I don't see any conflict. Silky specifically said to not twist his words to justify clapping pings. Clapping meaning combat/shooting/pvp. If you think you're about to fight someone, and you ping, that's a ping for clapping not "for the RP of being ready".

Okay very epic! I'm curious if reactive pings are allowed? Like if a faction decides "Fuck it lets hit a bank, Chumach is open" is a faction then allowed to ping, or should it exclusively be used for pre-planned RP?

  5. I have always been under the impression that pinging RP Opps for anything combat related or reactive is against the rules, pretty sure I've even been told this in Faction Services Meetings. Seems though from the responses above my impression is incorrect, and factions can indeed ping RP Opps for the threat of a fight?

Edit: Seems we've got a conflict in what staff are saying. @MrSilky is saying aslong as it's not excessive, then have at it, yet @alexalex303 is saying what I was under the impression of that anything combat related or reactive is off the table and should be exclusively used for events/meetings

Pierr is dead because people are clearly more focused on farming money rather than communicating or interacting,

Here's the main issue really, if the server wasn't so heavily biased towards those who have millions in their banks, I think more people would spend their time socialising instead of farming money. Decrease pricing on things such as guns for crims, and maybe they'll spend less time finding the best money making method and more time socialising.

    RIP the 8K Shotgun 😢

  7. Henlo Eclipse Roleplay Enjoyers!

I'd like to make a suggestion on the current building mechanic, and possibly a rework to improve the Quality of Life.

My suggestion is to rework the building mechanic to allow you to essentially go into a "Creative Mode", allowing you to build and spawn furniture freely to build out exactly how you would like your building to look. The system would add up the amount that all of the furniture would cost as you spawn the furniture until you're done. You would then get a message "Your build will cost a total of $123,456, do you want to submit or cancel". Hitting cancel will despawn all of the furniture and the creative mode will be over. Hitting Submit will put all of the furniture you just placed into a sort of "Ghost Mode" and will give you a checklist/blueprint item listing all the furniture you need to go and buy to finish up the build.

You will then need to go to the furniture store, buy each furniture item that you used in the "Creative Mode" and return it to your property. Once dropping it in the property it will add that item to the build, slowly adding each furniture piece to the build until it has been completed.

The best exmaple I can give for this would be the building mechanic in The Forest. In The Forest you place down your build wherever you like it, and then go get the resources, adding each log you get to the "ghost" build until it has been completed.

As you can see in the above image, this build is not complete yet, the player needs to go collect more logs to add to the transparent parts of the build until it has been completed. My suggestion would be something similar to this. You would be able to build your dream build to exactly your liking, once you're happy with the planned build, you would submit the build, and the transparent objects would be visible to you. The script would give you a 'Blueprint' item which when used gives you a checklist of all furniture you have remaining to buy.

This addition would improve Quality of Life of those who spend countless hours doing trial and error with building, and prevent people buying too many furniture items wasting their money and time.

I hope I got my idea across properly, and I'd love to hear other people's opinions on this idea, especially those who do a lot of building!

  8. It's been 5/6 months since this conversation was had.

When this was originally posted, @Aldarine and I have a pretty good conversation about why nothing had changed with the current Alt RP Request system.

The general idea that I got leaving that conversation was; We cannot request a change to the Senior Staff without some sort of result to show them about why something needs to change. And so, we both agreed that the best way to see any change would be for everyone to follow the current procedue with Alt RP, and let it run its course, that way this change could be shown to Senior Staff once again, but this time with dozens of Alt RP Opportunities wasting away in a Discord Channel or a Google Doc that hasn't been viewed for months.

The general reasoning given for why Alt RP is taking so long right now isn't even the approval of the requests, that actually came along really fast in my personal experience, but what's taking so long is the actual execution of Alt RP. The main reasoning is "Give other factions a chance".

Fair enough, other factions also deserve to enjoy Alt RP, but unless I have been looking in the wrong place, I haven't seen any faction get to do some Alt RP recently.

6 Months later, this procedure hasn't changed, and we now have evidence to show that it doesn't work. Factions are waiting months for Alt RP to be executed. I hope now Faction Services have enough evidence to present to Senior Staff that the current procedure is a failure, and needs the attention that was originally suggested to give it 6 months ago.

All my suggestions I made on this thread 6 months ago I still stand by, but I'm sure more people will have opinions on that now we've had to experience the failed procedure for 6 or more months.

I'd love to hear more transparency and honesty from staff around their opinions about the current procedure, what they would like to change (if anything) and what they're open for suggestions for. What I'd hate to hear is excuses about why X Alt RP has taken so long, or why Y still hasn't been approved. Just straight honest transparent answers from staff who know more than us would be actually really nice to see.

I actually agree with this. Perhaps re-introducing the ability to pay fines with law enforcement officers. The only issue this bought was players running up to officers and using /payfine without any roleplay but this could easily be monitored by staff.

To counteract the abuse of this returning also, just make /payfine 0 require the LEO to respond to it, similar to /duoanim.

Or another suggestion, just add a timer to the command to prevent people spamming /payfine 0 as they drive past a cruiser/cop.
