  1. Hello, we have previously addressed several suggestions about prison cap and prison times. Individual jail times were already lowered, we have no intentions currently of lowering them again. (Feel free to scan the archive).

If you are a Police Officer, you could try to argue your point In Character with your department, have it work up the Chain of Command so that it can eventually and potentially be forwarded to City Hall as a proposal.

  2. Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

This change was to bring balance to RVs and other vehicles. We reviewed several ways in staff to try and solve the issue of RVs being "abused" for unlimited storage without any real repercussion and decided that this was the most feasible way to solve it. We did not want them to get impounded (by adding parking meters at e.g. the mines) because that could be abused by players, and RVs don't despawn from the server for a reason, and we also did not want staff to despawn them like they do with cars in NCZs sometimes, because that would also get abused.

If our developers feel that something needs to change later down the road, they will revisit this topic.

  3. Hello, if you spot someone abusing the privilege of being able to access a sniper of any kind you should report it to PD or SD leadership, as they are strict on the misuse of these firearms (especially when the usage is unrealistic).  You are also free to report players for Non-RP if you feel that their actions promotes poor roleplay, then it can be reviewed by a member of staff.

We do not feel that it's necessary to remove the marksman rifle over a single or few incidents, as the actions of one or two officers/deputies don't speak for the entire faction.

    Thank you for your suggestion,

    - Osborn.

Changed under 6. Advertising and Public Chat

    • OLD: Players may use offensive language in IC chat for roleplay but not excessively.

    • NEW: Players may use offensive language in IC chat for roleplay but not excessively, and must stop if asked by another player OOCly.

    • CLARIFICATION: While we respect the fact that we're a roleplay server and we expect community members to create their fictional characters and RP around them, we also want our community to be welcoming for everyone. It's important that you understand that it should make RP sense for your character to behave in a way it does, whether that's being racist, homophobic etc - At some point, it becomes someone pushing their OOC ideology onto their IC character, thinking it's acceptable.

This minor change does not pertain to the usage of offensive language OOCly. We will not tolerate e.g. racial slurs OOCly, whether it's to a friend or someone else, it does not have any place on our platform. This change only strengthens the ability for players to be more comfortable playing on our server, and feel more welcoming.

  5. Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

We are not going to be rolling back the update. Our developers & founders will improve the system as time goes, but essentially, this new UI is here to remain. We hope that by now, that you've gotten used to it!

  6. Hello, this sure was an old suggestion revived.

I believe I've said this in previous suggestions, so I'll keep it short. We're not interested in introducing a cap again, instead, we've purposely kept jail/prison times for individual crimes low to let players decide themselves what they want to do and how they want the outcome to look like.

"our driver *redacted* decided to evade cause he didn't want to get reckless operation, we got chased by PD and got caught," was in a recent Internal Affairs Report. This is just an example to show that something that could've turned into a few minutes sentence, ended up being hours, because of somebody's actions. And this is a common occurrence despite us not having a cap.

So introducing a cap will not do us any good, we want there to be consequences for your IC actions. If you feel that there's a lack of RP or scripted features in prison to make your stay more enjoyable, please focus on suggesting scripted features and/or rules to make your stay more enjoyable.

  7. Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

We have no interest in allowing jail/prison time to be done offline, as that ruins the purpose of jail/prison. Arguing that it's a game is a bit old age at this point, we're fully aware that this is a game. Point being, this is a RP game mode within GTA 5, and RP game modes can be different in terms of what immersion it seeks in different areas.

Our jail/prison times overall for individual crimes are not that high, and we've kept it this way to let players decide themselves how they want the outcome of their actions to look like - to enforce somewhat realistic consequences to your actions (although chances are that, if you murder someone IRL, depending on where you live, you won't see daylight for a very long time).

Instead of suggesting to be able to do jail/(prison times offline, try to focus suggesting things that would make your stay in prison more enjoyable (things that don't involve much action RP, please), e.g. prison jobs whatnot. If it gets enough attention, it will most likely be reviewed quicker to see if it fits our vision of how we want our environment to be like.

Changed under 15. Player Theft, Prison Breakout, and Kidnapping

    • OLD: Robberies are to be conducted in a realistic manner and require the robber to have a reasonable in character motive. High risk, but little reward robberies are deemed unrealistic and should not be performed. Robberies should be performed in secluded areas where there is a low chance to be seen by witnesses. Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded but potential witnesses should be taken into account.

    • NEW: Robberies are to be conducted in a realistic manner and require the robber to have a reasonable in character motive. High risk, but little reward robberies are deemed unrealistic and should not be performed. Robberies should be performed in secluded areas where there is a low chance to be seen by witnesses. Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded but potential witnesses should be taken into account. Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded but potential witnesses should be taken into account.

    • CLARIFICATION: Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded for player robberies to take place, e.g. Gas Stations on route 68, woods outside of Paleto Bay etc. Does not apply to job areas, and other factors should be taken into account with potential witnesses, reward vs risk factor, and motivation.

    Clarification around Player Robberies

    • If there is a strong personal reason against the victim the risk/reward & location factor can be eased.  Strong personal reason being e.g. someone has done something to wrong you severely and you want to retaliate. This does not mean that you should not take location into account, we want to see robberies be as realistic as possible, but we also understand that e.g. gang rivalry should allow you to be more reckless, but not to a point where you hold someone up in the middle of the road by Legion Square with 10 cars.

Further clarification might be made at a later date.

Changed under 11. No Crime Zones.

    • OLD: • All government offices, law enforcement offices, hospitals, banks, and the blocks around them.

    • NEW: • All government offices, law enforcement offices, hospitals, LS & Paleto Main Bank, and the blocks around them.

    • CLARIFICATION: Fleeca Banks are not considered No Crime Zones.

    • CLARIFICATION: Re-wording. Sharing accounts is not allowed.

"unless absolutely required for some period. " I guess you must've missed this.

The player is more than welcome to post a punishment appeal following the process we have put in place and we will determine whether he in fact violated the rule (if he disagrees with that part), or whether the punishment in question wasn't necessary, as we always do.

    Edit:

With that being said, I will go ahead and lock this topic as it has now been two weeks since the rule was implemented and the staff team will continue to review the rule and the response to it for the next few weeks during our staff meetings.

  11. +1

The reason why my bar never happened is because I tried removing a counter that was placed wrong, then I ended up removing something irrelevant that took ages to place, and then I spammed /removefurniture as I ran around in rage. I sold the property and never looked back.

(Might re-open tomorrow but clearly this is turning into an attack on a faction. This new system has not been put to practice yet and is still open for changes if we see that changes are necessary)

Mostly a good thing, but like others said -  who is to constitute what a populated area is? Rules really shouldn't be ambiguous imo. Like Aldari saying that it's meant to be vague isn't really an acceptable answer for a player who could receive a permanent ban for robbing someone in a place that the player may think isn't populated, but an admin disagrees with them. it's definitely important to use your own judgement during RP as he/she/they said, however, we've seen in the past that players using their own judgement led to mishaps (think before NCZ's were marked on the map for instance; or when the fear RP rule changed; or when the VDM rule was changed; or when the KoS rule was changed. all of those rules have been further clarified after dozens of rule breaks took place which led to players being punished).

Something that should be added to that rule is that the time of day could effect it, for instance, if a player robs you walking down the road in the middle of the day thats non-rp. but if a player robs you when you're walking down the road at 3AM, then that wouldn't be considered non-rp.

Definitely a needed rule, just wish it was worded better/wasn't so ambiguous, even though that was the intent of the rule.

    Hey man.

We're definitely aware that this will need some time to adapt and understand, staff will definitely not issue permanent bans around this particular change unless absolutely required for some period. We are here to educate, and we don't always issue punishments - nowadays, we try to teach our staff to handle situations case by case basis. It's very possible for wordings to be changed and clarifications to be made later down the road, but as Aldari said, it was our intention to keep this vague to allow for player imagination, rather than creating another set of rules that players will ruleplay around.

We understand that this is how robberies have previously been done on Eclipse since its birth. But we believe that our official, unofficial factions, and active community members will adapt to this and be guided in the right direction, so that they later can be ambassadors for newer players who might need guidance and direction.

    @FatherOsbornFurther to my post above,

    unknown.png

Why was my stash emptied as per a normal house fire?

It's not a normal house fire though.

People responding to an explosion 911 can RP finding traces of a drug lab. It's not like every trace of it disappears, a drug lab exploding IRL won't just be waved off as a normal fire. If you store drugs in the same house/property that you cook them in, you risk losing them. It creates probable cause to search the property once it's been determined that the cause of the explosion was a drug lab.

I'll ask NBDY if he can leave some objects behind to make the immersion more realistic, when it blows up.
