    6. Ruleplaying

    • Purposefully using, manipulating or interpreting rules or rulings falsely or outside of its intention, in an unrealistic or unintended way that does not constitute quality or realistic RP standards.

    • Examples of ruleplaying for clarification (not an exhaustive list):
      - In a criminal chase, driving at slow speeds knowing that your pursuers are unable to attack you because they can't deliver demands.
      - Walking into a hostile situation with your hands up, knowing your backup is hiding, in order to bait deathmatching rights.
      - Taunting e.g. an enemy at a public place (e.g. fishing pier) knowing that they can't retaliate at said public location, effectively showing no fear for your safety.

Each situation will be reviewed and dealt with as case by case basis by staff, the examples above is not precise and there could be realistic context to someone's actions.

    Changed under Non-Roleplay:

    • Non-off road vehicles may not drive up mountains or steep hills. LSEMS & Mechanics and PD are exempt.

PD now has access to off-road police scouts.

Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

At this point in time, it's not in our interest to remove the LSES teamspeak. The LSES teamspeak is moderated by all of the staff team (LSES member or not, they can request the ability to connect), and there's been several punishments handed for metagaming in the past.

As the previous poster pointed out, we cannot moderate discords we aren't a part of, and there's nothing stopping members from LSES factions to resort to sitting in group calls / private discords and freely speak there with no chance of repercussion unless it's reported to us by someone from the inside. The LSES teamspeak will always be something that we require LSES faction members to be in when they are on duty, because as mentioned, it's a moderated environment. There is a pending development request by PD/SD around radios to help them move their TAC channels In-Game, however, the community has been very outspoken about any focus going into legal faction development the past few months, but I am sure that once all current projects are completed, that NBDY/Osvaldon will work on the pending legal faction development requests.

Now I'll let you address what NBDY inquired as you make it seem like Teamspeak is some uncontrolled metagaming ring.

  3. Hello, we are at this moment not interested in a prison cap.

The average criminal that evades sits nowhere close to 5+ hours in prison. The criminal that commits several murders do. (Example: Two days ago a gang (or two gangs(?) staged an ambush that killed 5+ officers. Three or something involved in the ambush were caught alive, and they were given around 700 minutes [- VIP jail/prison time reduction].) This is reasonable given the action. If they want to stage ambushes frequently, they risk getting these sentences more frequently as well.

The quote by Alexalex is still relevant.

Please make sure to go through old suggestions before posting a new one!

(EDIT: About community service, any additional RP that DOC wants to provide prisoners should be documented by its faction leader and forwarded to legal factions. This way it can be applied onto a faction scripting requests document. Community Service would be dope!)

  4. Hello, I will go ahead and archive this. I previously posted on this thread a while back explaining why this will not be implemented. We do not find it realistic to make officers a target for robberies, which will happen - and while a rule can be created to try and tackle this, it will create unnecessary time drain for staff members who have to investigate the validity of such an event when they would (should) be extremely rare. But we know how much everyone loves their guns on the server, and a cop with access to heavy weapons = free and easy access to heavy weapons.

It's not common, in fact, I can't cite any sources of officers being targeted for robberies in real life - cops being murdered and ambushed happens obviously, but once that happens, the perpetrator(s) usually leave the area.

    thank you for the suggestion!

  5. I will go ahead and archive this.

With the new turf system we saw a lot of new chop shops getting added, and they're all active - meaning that camping one single location isn't really an issue anymore.

  6. Hello, it has been some time since this suggestion were created. I believe that fast-forwarding over a year later, there's really no need to overthink things - staff have not had many issues with players ramming with expensive vehicles that we need to go into overthinking and list down each vehicles. Common sense has been applied in majority of the ramming situations, and in others, we've educated the players.

Should we feel that we need to make a longer list we will do that.

    Thank you for your suggestion,

    - Osborn.

  7. Hello, thank you for this discussion.

The original creator complained about police having an extremely fast response with cars and helicopters when he deliberately took a car from a bait car operation. I emphasize on the word 'operation', it was a setup from the police and thus they had all these units ready to respond within, as he proclaims, 10 seconds.

Expect this type of response when you steal a car from a bait car operation - which is not an impromptu operation but rather one that is planned beforehand.

I do not see this discussion going anywhere, thanks to everyone who has contributed to it!

  8. Hello, I will keep this short as there's more detailed and lengthy responses in older suggestions around this topic. We are not looking at capping prison times at this moment, instead we are looking to improve the prison itself. Please focus your suggestions on this thread around how to improve the prison with adjustments / new features, (non action related suggestions please).

  9. This is a roleplay mode in a video game, we strive for as much realism in areas where we can. Form B was implemented to let some felons own a gun license after a period, and Form C was implemented later for those players who committed serious felonies a long time ago as a compromise to the fact that it's a video game. At the end of the day, you make your character and decide its story, at least you have an option if you do not want to make a legal character.

Any other suggestions should be brought up through IC channels (PD/City Hall).

  10. Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

We will not be removing or reducing the role of our Faction Management Team. This is a branch of the staff team which we have had since the beginning of official factions, it serves a purpose of guiding and supervising factions that wishes to pursue official status because official status is not a privilege that we want to grant lightly. Now, as a non-official faction, you make the decision whether you want to pursue for official or not, there are groups that have opted out of this and not had any involvement by faction management or its handlers.

The Faction Management Team is reactive, not proactive. All the mass shootouts you have each week because of alleged RP reasons (alleged because I am not familiar with them) is done without approval, given that they meet the requirements of our server rules. The Faction Management Team only reacts to events if they do not fit the RP standards that we want our official factions to have (if you have handlers, you are pursuing official status), and/or if events do not meet our server rules, and/or if events do not meet the lore of your faction (the lore is something that we've wanted Faction Management to review more strictly as of recently).

When it comes to wars or mass shootouts in general, the reason why we sometimes involve ourselves in them is because it's frequent, it's massive and it's sometimes disruptive (aside from the points raised above this paragraph). This is not a free roam DM server, we don't want players to spawn out of the hospital and head straight back into the gunfight the same day (figuratively speaking) for the same reason or a very light reason, you might think it's entirely IC, however, compared to the consequences that is currently available IC does not always meet the actions that happens, which is something that could be amended in the future should the desire for it exist (e.g. life prison sentences, IC assets removal etc.).

I hope that answers your concerns. Keep in mind that we do not force groups to have faction management involvement, if you want to pursue official you choose to have faction management supervising and guiding you.

  11. Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

The incidents that took place in a time span of 2-3 hours with certain staff members attacking players as animals should never have happened. We have internal guidelines and regulations that we expect staff to follow, an event like this would need to be pre-approved by a member of Senior Staff but it never was. As a result of that, you had for example one of the most skittish animals in the animal kingdom going on a attack spree in the city, traveling together with a cougar who would normally prey on its travel companion.

We do not deem this as acceptable RP according to our standards and the standards that we want the community to follow, thus we did not want to allow the event to be pushed through Weazel News on an In Character level. It's a voided situation.

While it's unfortunate that there was a lot of time spent on editing the footage, we have standards that we want to uphold.

  12. Hello,

There is going to be a system implemented to discourage players from wanting to return to active scenes after being released from MD. It's still just something on paper and something that hasn't been developed yet, however, what we know right now is that it'll work like a regeneration system, you won't be spawning with 100% health, and you will also be walking slowly. NBDY tried to develop something in the past with wheel chairs (on his stream) but wasn't able to do it efficiently, thus it was never continued.

Right now, players that return to active shootouts after being released from MD will be spoken to and potentially punished for promoting poor role-play, this was also a topic of our recent staff meeting and something which we've agreed that we won't condone for a while. Though, active scene =/= active shootout.

  13. Hello, with the recent turf update, body armor also saw a change, which I believe should cover your suggestion of illegal body armor.

However, when it comes to legal body armor, we currently have no intention of adding them to gun stores at this moment. The sole reason is because we are still finding ways to tackle the problem of weapons that is being purchased by alternative characters from gun stores, only to be transferred to an illegal character, whether it's through the help of a friend or yourself. Unfortunately, due to the scale of it, it takes time for us to review each individual case to the point where it could've been weeks (or months in some cases) where it's discovered, but then the damage is already done.

We also cannot implement legal armor and make it non trade-able, because then it cannot be robbed off another player.

  14. Hello.

We will not be forcing players to record their game-play this way for reasons pointed out in this thread, although, there are certain scenarios where we do require some form of evidence (e.g. refund requests, player reports). Both PD/SD have a policy surrounding evidence and body cameras, for your particular case, I'd contact the relevant faction's Internal Affairs system to inquire about your case and see how you could solve it.

  15. Hello.

While we appreciate your suggestion, we do not have any intentions of removing the current official system or purging all the current gangs from it, as we do not believe this would be in favor of our vision for the community. Instead, we are working to improve the official system to allow more players to partake in the gang scene of Eclipse Roleplay. We recently introduced one new official faction (Lost MC) which is being established by server staff, until it's ready to be ran by a player - and If this system works out in the end, we will most likely expand on this idea.

  16. Hello, thank you for your suggestion.

You will need to make a new suggestion with more clear detail on what you're actually suggesting - The usage of undercover vehicles as pointed out it more of an In Character issue rather than Out of Character, we allow them to be used (hence the script command /siren was added in 2017).

If you are suggesting a new item to be imported, or for /siren to be improved to make it more obvious that it's a siren, it should be pointed out in the original topic. But keep in mind that there are game restrictions that the script cannot fix when it comes to adding sirens to vehicles.

    Just to clear it up,

There is no way to attach an object to a vehicle other than /siren which is a command restricted to Law Enforcement factions (restrictions apply such as rank and division).

  17. Hello, physical gloves is already something that the development team wants to add, but which will take some time. With our current clothing system, it's not really possible to implement gloves, as gloves on GTA 5 is tied to your torso. At the moment, you automatically get a torso which fits the clothing you purchase - adding a third step (for gloves) will require a revamp of the entire clothing system, which is why it will take some time as our development team already has plans for other development projects.

But, we will see gloves in the future.
