  1. I'd rather keep it as it is. While convenient for certain forum-based tasks that you don't necessarily need to be in-game for, forcing people to actually be in-game to use it prevents weird edge cases of metagaming.

  2. I specifically investigated replacing this weapon a little while ago and the problem was that there aren't any weapons to replace it. There weren't any good options for a weapon capable of being fired from a vehicle. If you have suggestions for a weapon that LSPD should use in this role that isn't "take it it away entirely" I would be pleased to take your suggestion under advisement.

gonna be real though if youre stupid enough to stand at LSC and just leave your speaker out its bound to get stolen. if you reduce price tho this less likely to happen.

How dare people listen to some music and roleplay with each other? I MUST ROB THEM!!!!!!

  4. The problem isn't the public labs, it's the "hands up or die" bozos. If people move away from that mentality and it's no longer tolerated, things will be better. Everyone seems to complain about being robbed or shot at... but the proposed solution isn't to work on getting rid of the robbing/shooting mentality, it's to go back to sitting alone playing inventory management.

There's more than 1 table at these labs... it's entirely possible to share the toys.

  5. I see this as an unintended consequence of the "hurry the fuck up" mentality people have, and officers' rush to get people in jail because they get screamed at if they try to do their due diligence. These mistakes will get made when people are rushing to get things done as quickly as possible, so charges getting added later is all but inevitable. I highly doubt this has been abused intentionally just to make people sit in prison for longer, but if you have direct evidence of that please submit it to PD leadership so it can be looked at.

Having said that, the VIP perk not reducing time from charges placed in this way is obviously an oversight and should get fixed. Having additional charges go over the limit I think is acceptable, because it dissuades people from just killing as many people as possible in prison because "I can't get any more than 5 hours, might as well go on a spree."

  6. I will always advocate for "what you see is what you get."

If others can see the gun, I think it's reasonable they should be able to take action based on that information. They have no idea if you've done whatever RP to hide something that's clearly visible, and it grinds IC interactions to a halt once you start an argument in OOC chat saying it actually isn't visible, people demanding proof, etc. And even if people accept your RP that it isn't visible, suddenly we're in a really awkward situation where the IC interaction has to be voided by non-moderators. It's just really awkward and unfun experience in my mind.

If the developers provide a way to let people hide guns, fine. But it used to be that some guns were actually hidden, which made those guns have a use case: the 50 is powerful but visible, but others were invisible. Each weapon had its pros and cons. I think that was a good gameplay feature, if unintended. But right now I think trying to use /mes and /dos that others can't see until an argument starts OOC isn't the way to go. Use a bag. Major bag alert.

Yeah but if you sell the guns and you RP that it is scratched off... Your license gonna be safe right?

There's no script support for this. Let's say you illegally sell the gun, if the buyer ends up dead and the police find the weapon on their corpse, there's nobody there to tell the police this kind of RP has been done so they'll be able to track the serial number.
