  1. are you for real Richie? How did you find a way to turn this into a private lab thread again?
  2. would you want the entirety of historical experience to be wiped, or would you be open to having them count at a reduced percentage? Lets say 10k drugs cooked pre update could be the same experience as 5k or 2.5k drugs post-update.
  3. oh if that record exists then, yeah 100% I just assumed there wasn't and tried to come up with other systems of scaling.
  4. would 1 level per X days actively played on the server be fair? or 1 level per X experience? Think it's potentially a bit of a can of worms to figure out who's a crim (and a crim that cooked in the past) to figure out what a fair level of starting experience would be. I dont have any ideas as how to balance this, so i'm going to let that open for now, But there's numerous ways this could be done, just unsure what would be fair.. In a way the new system levels the playing field, and more seasoned players are better connected so that may be an advantage in and of itself over newer players.
  5. -1 convenience kills roleplay. If everyone was able to grab a CitiBee at all times, DCC would be dead within weeks. There would be abandoned citibees strewn across the state and noone would ever need to call a cab ever again.
  6. According to the title of this thread, the topic isn't private labs. If you want to talk about that, maybe you could make a separate thread.. It would greatly help to keep things on-topic.

    QOL Changes

I'll also add my newer contributions to my initial response to this thread, but I think the best way to improve overall interactions is adding onto the potential avenues and interactions people have on the server, I very much think we shouldn't try and "shift the meta" by introducing a single new thing, as that will most likely just result in that new thing being the new meta. Instead I think having a dozen little changes would overall create a way more diverse community, as different solutions will draw in different players. - Make mining the non-drug materials more worth it, where the player has a choice to make, do I go for material A and potentially turn it into a profitable drug, or material B and go for a straight payout. - Add more hunting locations. - Vandalism criminal activity, similar to house robberies, you buy a contract to vandalise a property. smash a window or set a property on fire. PD/SD can investigate, afterwards Fire Department can then show up to clean up the scene.

    QOL Changes

Remove low end/ high end. Give the car dealers (and dealerships) the opportunity to buy second hand cars from players and sell them on. Right now, the vehicle businesses are entirely devoid of roleplay. It's a building where you interact with a blue ring and browse through cars. if the owner was incentivised to buy and sell cars and maintain a stock (of upgraded second hand vehicles) I believe this could improve interactions. You could even go the route of having the occasions parked outside each dealership and having the capacity of the second-hand market split amongst the existing dealerships, thereby driving interactions towards the people that have invested their character development towards being a vehicle retailer.

    QOL Changes

Alright, Here's a few. they're probably not all equally popular, but here goes: 1. Increase the shipment power for ammo, double it. No ammo? no shootouts. (do not change anything on the legal ammo side. this would incentivise people to try and find people with a legal firearms license to interact with) 2. Increase the amount of public chop locations. City scrapyard would be a prime location that instantly comes to mind. 3. More RP rewards for faction tier progression. Right now the biggest change for a tier-up is getting access to more powerful PvP items. If you want to reward factions for their good RP, give them RP rewards instead of incentivising PvP through PvP rewards. (right now the first potentially RP related reward for a criminal faction is T4 iirc) 4. Fishing, add random stuff to the fishing loot pool so that it's not just possible to reel in fish, but boots, swimshorts or drugs. 5. Food buffs. have more variation in food items, maybe add a small buff in a similar way that drugs do. (potentially even have a leveling system with a cooking skill although this would require more heavy scriptwork) 6. Limited time cartel access. Make it so that Illegal factions get access to certain cartel drops based on the roleplay they have done. Impress cartel? Get different stuff you can order. Had a cool RP scenario? Receive limited time access to a cool Import item as a reward. Not only would it incentivise good roleplay, it would also incentivise gang relations as people always want to know what you have access to (at that moment) 7. Introduce a reloading press machine, perhaps this could tie in nicely with the mining freelance job where the materials mined could be turned into ammunition. Although said ammunition would most likely end up being used in gunfights. i do believe this could open up extra avenues of interaction. 8. Single table druglabs. Basically, a few more locations where it wouldn't make sense for massive groups to show up. 9. Remove Lysergic. (or add a material to the LSD recipe) NOW this will most likely be an unpopular one, but LSD is the bulk drug people are cooking non stop. People have found the meta. change the meta. 10. Remove low end/ high end. Give car dealers (and dealerships) the opportunity to buy second hand cars from players and sell them on. Right now, the vehicle businesses are entirely devoid of roleplay. It's a building where you interact with a blue ring and browse through cars. if the owner was incentivised to buy and sell cars and maintain a stock (of upgraded second hand vehicles) I believe this could improve interactions. (You could even go the route of having the occasions parked outside each dealership and having the capacity of the second-hand market split amongst the existing dealerships, thereby driving interactions towards the people that have invested their character development towards being a vehicle retailer.) 11. Make mining the non-drug materials more worth it, where the player has a choice to make, do I go for material A and potentially turn it into a profitable drug, or material B and go for a straight payout. 12. Add more hunting locations. 13. Vandalism criminal activity, similar to house robberies, you buy a contract to vandalise a property. smash a window or set a property on fire. 11. you DO realise this whole discussion is opened up to evaluate the current state of the rules and consequenses it has on gameplay right? All rules are made up.. Everything (we do here) is made up. I'm simply stating the fact that LEO groups can legally backupbreach, if crims do it, it goes to the forums. I'm simply stating the fact tht LEO groups can OOCly call people into the city if they want to do cerain Roleplay scenarios, if crims do it, it goes to the forums. Those are two pretty substantial exemptions to server rules. I'm happy to hear that FM is well regulating the use of pagers, as I can imagine that could easily go out of hand. And by substantial I mean that IF crim factions were to be allowed to utilize them the way that LEO's can, it would be a HUGE gamechanger. And I think everyone would agree with me there. I'm not advocating for that change, I don't want that change. I think they should remain a rulebreak, I'm simply saying that I think LEO factions should not be exempt of those rules. Now, back to my opinion on this matter: I'm truly baffled by the "cops are supposed to win" argument that keeps being floated around. Everyone seems to say they want fights and chases. But why is it then, that whenever there's an ongoing chase, there's 10+ cruisers and air1 that join in. Why is it that in ongoing gunfight other LEO factions get called for backup. I understand that on an individual level it makes IC sense to join in, as it's your character's job. I'm talking about the OOC consequenses: Its getting to a point where the LEO backup just shuts down potential outcomes of scenarios. Cops truly are supposed to win, your input as a criminal player is merely limited to deciding when they win. I've heard "it's not worth it" numerous times, when it comes to scenarios involving cops. and if the outcome of roleplay scenarios is predestined with an L for one party. guess what? that party will stop engaging with said scenarios. And therefore it's unhealthy for the community overall. "Cops are supposed to win" is an unhealthy mindset. I'm pretty sure we can all agree we don't want to reach a point where the extent of roleplay for criminal players is choosing when and with what charges they go to DOC. Secondly i'm observing that it's kind of becoming a "SHROEDINGERS argument" where the backup doesn't matter because if backup show up they all die, and therefore it's not a problem. But simultaneously they should also have access to that backup because "LEO's are supposed to win those scenarios." Its kind of funny how often these types of forum threads pop up now. And I think there's an underlying conversation to be had. Instead of discussing the symptoms. I would love it if FM/LFM would send out a questionaire and mediate this conversation. In my opinion, these threads have become too frequent to ignore, or brush aside as if it's "Just another cop vs. crim thread"
  12. You say that ... but: LEO factions regularly OOC pager people into the server if they want an RP scenario. Dont have the people online to confront a large armed group or conduct a raid? Maybe don't do that RP... build a case and wait for a time where you have the numbers. Just as crims aren't allowed to call people in, then LEO's shouldn't either. To me that's a blatant double standard where a portion of the community would get punished if they do it, when the LEO players do it regularly, and it's deemed fine.
  13. I don't know where or how OP came up with the numbers provided, but... I'm confused. I also may be missing the entire point of this discussion.. but: Wouldn't an unbanning wave expose the community to a lot of players that have previously proven not to meet the RP standards for the server? When people talk of unbanning waves, my mind automatically goes to the potential harm this group of players can do. It's not like you get banned without a reason. The server has an appeals system and I assume there is a reason why appeals get denied (or approved). I just don't see how exposing the community to people that were previously banned for NHTRP, (Mass) DM, cheating or DSO would be a positive contribution to the overall health of the community. I think a major unbanning wave could result in the current community be flooded with poor behaviour and potentially result in them leaving because of it. I wrote this response with the overall health of the community in mind, and personally I do not see a mass unbanning wave as a net positive to the health of the ECRP roleplay community.
  14. Hi Gang, Pretty simple! I'd like to add some random stuff to the fishing minigame. With a very small dropchance you can Fish up a boot, Fish up some swimshorts, Fish up cocaine dropped in the sea by cartel. I think it could be a nice little way for people to have Roleplay opportunities. When people fish up drugs they get the chance to report it to Law Enforcement, or choose to otherwise distribute it. I think this addition could open up some fun interactions, let me know what you guys think
  15. I dont think there was a single person advocating for these rulechanges because of situations they simply didn't like. It was asked for because these situations went to far, and when situations went too far the people that were forced into those situations were blamed for not doing XYZ when they reported said situations. Every time a situation was reported, things were swept under the rug and pretended it was a one-off situation.. The community finally organised, became vocal and it was no longer feasable to keep pretending these weren't a systemic problem of the way these situations were dealt with. Dont you think it's an objectively good thing that people can now report situations they felt they were forced into non-consentual Gross-RP? (Just as people can report cheaters or other types of rulebreakers.) I personally think it's pathetic that people go on RP servers to wallhack/aimbot to get a PvP advantage... but do i think it's bad that there's rules in place to deal with people that engage in these cheats? No, ofcourse not. Do I think this server would have a healthy community if these rules weren't in place? Also no. Its a shame the rule needed to be put in place and that without it, people lack the common decency not to force women into GRP... but I guess people just need firm boundaries...
  16. Massive W for the community. Healthy community = Healthy roleplay Shame it took so much ground work for this rule to be implemented. Fake concerns over fake accusations ended up protecting real predators for too long Like I said MASSIVE W.
  17. the Cinquemila is really bad for this. Unless you park it in perfect condition it will just become a crumpled mess as soon as you take it out. It majorly affects steering and handling of the car. it's really bad.
  18. Hello, this request is pretty simple: As part of our faction's lore (the Empire) we would like to be able to roleplay giving people our business cards. We feel that this would open many (small) ways to enhance roleplay scenarios. We know the script already supports this, and it's been implemented in a variety of different ways: DDC have their medallions. Mechanics and gov branches have badges. Empire, a criminal business enterprise, would love to show people their business cards. I envision that the business card would show Firstname Lastname and Rank within the organisation. Maybe by opening up this system in different ways to different factions could open some great avenues to give flavour to different (illegal) factions.
  19. I'd love this. There's a car park a lot of my roleplay sessions start/end in and there's quite a bit of trash in there aswell. That trash bothers me quite a bit and if there would be a way to get rid of it I would 100% be an advocate for it. Having the option of encountering a dumpster diver and tipping them to "go check out that area" could be a positive little interaction for both parties.
