  1. Demands alone hold very little weight. A visible threat should also be present, shouting demands from a bush from far away isn’t enough
  2. There’s nowhere you could reasonably fit a body in it, there’s 2 huge wheels on the back of it that would crush someone
  3. As is tradition with these types of threads, this has devolved past the point of the original topic and has become a mud slinging contest. I will be closing and archiving this thread. To paraphrase SirQubed: if we cannot share our perspectives respectfully and remain on topic, then these discussions will not continue.
  4. I can't speak for PD because I'm not in PD, but SD does try to manage the amount of units at a scene or in a chase, unless it's a huge scene like a mass shootout
  5. I am indifferent to this, I don’t care if we remove them or not, but I think glitches should still be eligible for refunds.
  6. This is the intention. If you have the means to retaliate or flee, you can try, but your safety should ultimately be prioritized first, along with taking into account if you're outnumbered or not if you intend to fight back. A firearm is a firearm no matter who wields it, a police officer could disregard their IC protocols and just shoot you, they would be risking IC disciplinary for it, but they could. The intention of the change isn't meant to be a free pass to not value your wellbeing, but to allow more dynamic roleplay to occur, because paraphrasing what you said, the old system was a "whoever put the other under fearRP first wins", and allowed for very powergaming-esque situations.

  8. Court cases could be done in a week or 2 max, I don’t know the full extent to what goes on admittedly, but it doesn’t and shouldn’t take 10 months to gather an arrest report, statements and other relevant paperwork, and schedule a time and date to prove someone’s guilt or innocence, if stuff isn’t provided in a timely manner then keep it inadmissible for the case
  9. just to touch pagers, 90% of the time in my experience, if you're lucky you'll get maybe one or 2 that actually log in to assist, if even that, and not every officer has access to actually use the pager
  10. +1 Would be a cool feature, could just reuse the trace script that detectives have
  11. If actually implemented, this could be added script wise to disable looting injured and dead cops, and disallow robbing cops for their duty weapons rule wise or just make it so it wont show up when looting/frisking them
  12. Since this is a topic for balance, here’s some of my ideas: make the maximum number of people doing illegal activity together at once 5, legal activities are fine; but in turn, limit the maximum number of police response to 8 Make gun decay be dynamic, AKA if there’s a lot of guns in one property, then decay will happen, but if there’s only a few .50s and one or 2 heavies, then it won’t decay Remove HSW entirely from vehicles, this is why the sparrow is deployed, it’s impossible to keep up with a car when all you need to do is hold W to evade
  13. If you’re shooting someone just off of demands that’s another issue in of and itself
  14. Over my time on the server, I’ve run into quite a lot of situations where players have provided false or misleading information by bending the rule about roleplaying footage. Right now, the rule says: If there are no out of character videos or screenshots to support the roleplay of what a player would see as they review footage, it can be roleplayed in /do but all parties involved must agree to the description given. If no agreement can be met, the footage should be considered corrupted in character. The problem is that in practice, this doesn’t always happen the way it’s written. I’ve seen plenty of situations, especially in court cases, where the “agreement” is basically between the person showing the footage and whoever they want it to benefit, instead of including everyone involved. That ends up making things one sided and not very fair. A few examples I’ve personally seen were players claiming security cameras at a store or gas station caught someone’s full face and license plate, when no actual recording exists, police saying bank or store CCTV shows very specific details about a suspect’s actions or clothes, even though there’s no in game footage, people using “made up” footage in JB cases to back up their claims, which leaves the other side with no way to fairly challenge it, corruption cases where players argue that footage clears or convicts someone, when in reality it’s just being described in /do. Stuff like this really opens the door for powergaming and cherry picking what’s “on camera” depending on who it benefits. My suggestion is to remove this completely. If you’re roleplaying a camera, there should be an actual OOC video clip recorded by a player, or footage from scripted store or bank cameras, screenshots would fine too. If there isn’t real in game footage or images, then it shouldn’t be roleplayed at all. If you don’t have the evidence, that’s just part of the roleplay.
  15. I think it’s important to remember that everyone has their own reasons for filing a forum report. What one person might see as petty or unnecessary, another might view as completely justified. That’s why it’s ultimately the responsibility of the staff handling these reports to determine whether a report is valid or not. For example, Jimbob could look at some reports made by John, and think that they are petty, while John may see the same report as fully justified and necessary because he believes he was the victim of a rulebreak, and wants to try and get his items back. The subjectivity is unavoidable. Any player is entitled to submit a report and have it investigated if they believe they were subject to a rule break, as you’ve done five times in the last four months according to your own data.
  16. Ive always agreed that your items should be automatically stored and retrieved for you when you get released from DOC, maybe a solution to this could be to move the location of the scripted legal items locker, and let anyone access their own legal belongings locker by themselves, and DOC or PD/SD would still have to store the legal items they take from somebody during an arrest in there. I don’t think I’m alone when I say it can be frustrating waiting for somebody to retrieve your items for you at early or late hours when there’s hardly anybody working, I’ve personally waited upwards to an hour sometimes before just giving up and trying to next day.
  17. I agree with @Bala
  18. My man @alexalex303 said it best on a different topic of the many “nerf pd” threads.
  19. The max prison time if you can afford the fines is 3 hours, the only times you’ll get more is whenever you can’t afford the fines. The prison times now are a lot better than they used to be. In the past there was no cap at all on how long you could be in there for. Your time also goes down an hour every 12 hours you’re offline.
  20. I understand where this suggestion is coming from, and I do agree with some points, but i believe OOC chat still has a use, sometimes you need to communicate something to several players at once, I’m not talking about random off topic from RP conversations. I do think that OOC chat usage should be enforced a bit more stricter, at least in public spaces.
