What you're describing is SWAT executing a warrant on someone, what exactly is the wrongdoing in that? If someone amasses a huge number of speeding tickets they fail to pay, they'll have warrants out for their arrest. These are organized operations that require planning and proper communications and that's where SWAT comes in. You want to extract someone without having them put up a fight, you roll up in numbers. Happens IRL all the time. Cops aren't exempt from breaking ANY server rules and if you believe this has happened, report it. You say you see these reports and nothing happens, but where are they? Cops get punished all the time, just like any other player does. Your claim isn't viable, you've got no proof for any of it. Do you honestly believe that in a city rampant with gangs and gun violence, a police department would ever run out of ammo or weapons or body armor? In a city where everyone has access to heavy weapons just by strolling down the sidewalk and being asked ten times if they want to buy a gun, the police department is supposed to be barely able to respond to these threats? Of course, guns are "free" for cops, but they aren't taking them home. The weapons are issued and returned after the shift. No government on earth would allow their police force to be outgunned by thugs, ever. You're making it sound like cops just get heavy weapons and run loose, that's absolutely not true. You have not the slither of an idea what it takes to be certified for heavy weapons, how many hours of training each and everyone has to go through, written tests and evaluation sessions before they're even allowed anything other than a handgun and taser. To get to a point where you have access to heavy weapons takes a cop longer than most of the factions half-life on this server. To come here and make the assumptions and accusations is just plain disrespectful. People in the PD wait for months and go through copious amounts of training to be let into SWAT and continue to train every week to uphold that status. While you log on and buy an AK a minute later, the cop you're complaining about has sunk hundreds of hours into arrest reports, impound reports, field training sessions, and evaluations before even coming close to a heavy weapon. And when they do finally have it, they're bound by yet more regulations and protocols that surround the use of it. You have no idea what any of the things you complain about actually take to be certified for, yet you just assume it's too easy and cops run around with heavy weapons for the fun of it.

How are you being trolled and or abused? The top quote is what you said and it is nothing but entitlement. You believe that it is not fair that the server, ran by Europeans, populated mostly by Europeans, is hosted in Europe because you happen to live outside of Europe and your ping is bad. That is entitled. You further go on to point out that those Europeans have plenty of servers to choose from in their native language and that therefore, it would be fair to move the server to the US, just so potential future players from AUS/NZ can enjoy a better ping. I honestly fail to see how I am supposed to be the troll here, I was convinced it was you.
-
This is the most entitled stuff I've ever read on here lmao. "Those pesky Europeans have other servers to play on, I demand that this server switches to a location which better suits where I am from, despite it being hosted in Europe since forever and the main player base being European!" You got a really good laugh out of me though, so thanks for that.

Police Corruption Against Server Rules + Other Suggestions
flow replied to Lance_Luther's topic in Archive
It is against PD internal regulations and does have serious consequences already. A further limitation of this would not make any difference. There is no rule dictating the possible role-play style a criminal can pursue and there shouldn't be any enforced on cops either. OOC is OOC and IC is IC. Assuming the actual Chief of Police said this to you, the example you give here has nothing to do with corruption at all. If anything, it is standard practice IRL. A person can be detained without a warrant for up to 48 hours, for example, as per the Supreme Court ruling County of Riverside v. McLaughlin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/County_of_Riverside_v._McLaughlin. The fact that apparently, SWAT personnel laughed about it, isn't corruption either. Maybe bad taste and unprofessionalism at best. Your weapons aren't ever taken away for no reason. I bet you have been charged and jailed every time when your weapons have been taken which in itself was reason enough. I am confident that nobody in the PD is shooting you with weapons seized from you, as everyone has department-issued weapons. Weapons seized from criminals are dropped off in the evidence room/armory. You can see for yourself when you walk into the PD, straight past the front desk and through the door on the left. Peek through the window and check up on the disposal of seized weapons and drugs. You wouldn't believe the volume of calls we actually get of people reporting drug labs. We drive there after receiving such a call, which is probable cause enough to enter the premises. And upon spotting drug manufacturing equipment and chemicals out in the open, it is more than legitimate to destroy them. That is not an issue the PD created, but rather the decision to make people have to produce drugs in specific areas instead of private homes. Don't blame the PD. -
You make some valid points. Horsepower is quite cheap to come by these days. A Supercar should outrun a cruiser no questions asked, that's just what they do. But I don't agree on the point you're making entirely. While it's easy for HP rich cars to get off the spot, most are limited on their top speed IRL. Your regular middle to high class vehicle is targeted at the average Joe with a bit of spare cash and not somebody who will ever use the car to its full ability. So most middle and high class vehicles are limited to a top speed of 250km/h and some sports and supercars top out at around 300km/h give or take some. Police Interceptors are based on standard models but are tweaked rather differently and do have higher top speeds and power distribution than regular models. But still. A supercar on the server must be able to outrun a standard cruiser, that goes without saying really. And most do. I've been in a lot of chases with supercars where I have lost sight of them on a straight. They do pull away from us. And not only from me, from all of us. We catch up to people because they fuck up most of the time. They take a turn too fast or too slow and we don't and the gap closes. When people start cornering inside the city is when most of them do a fuck up, drift, spin out. They're so eager to get away from us that they risk it all. Good drivers, like yourself, know what to do and know not to rush things. And you have lost the cops more times than you've been caught. In fact, I've made it a challenge back then to get you and Badger. It was very very fun. So let's talk about realism. What is happening on this server isn't very realistic at all. We come up against super cars on most occasions we're in a chase. We're talking of a city full of 400k+ cars. It's like the criminal alternative to Monaco. That isn't realistic. People with such expensive cars don't go around robbing stores for $100. They don't speed past the police shouting "hey little piggies". Why does everyone demand such high levels of realism from the LSPD when you're not willing to make sacrifices? Ditch your super and expensive cars and roleplay to your character's ability. If you want to be a criminal doing petty crimes, go rob a store and hold people up at gunpoint for their change in vehicles that support that lifestyle. Get a Washington or w/e. We can't find a common ground here because there's too much on each side that prevents that. You're always going to see an unfair advantage and so are we. There's a lot of points we'd need to discuss and find agreement on before we can start changing things.

You start to attack people in PD and expect not be called out on it? I am sorry but you clearly must have been aware of what you have said, right? Another accusation of how the PD allegedly "fucks" people. And again. Another accusation. You call us out for acting on an officer who MGed. You call our FTP failing and the CMD Members apparently have no idea what they are doing. You are very very toxic towards us in all of your posts. Am I wrong to counter your arguments? Nobody has attacked you in such a manner, only your motivation for making this suggestion as it is quite obvious. You were asked to keep off our OOC channels in order to crack down on potential MGing and you were upset about that and went straight to make this suggestion. That above is a statement in your original post, now your issue is suddenly the TAC channels. You seem to twist your arguments and points in whatever direction currently fits and that is something that just isn't fair. You have attacked people all throughout this post, so be prepared to be met with counter arguments and hostility. We are enforcing the IC usage of TAC and people are constantly called out and corrected when they use the TAC channels in such a manner that it is unfair to anyone around them. Don't make yourself stand out to be the victim here.
-
I would love for you to show me any insult I have allegedly thrown at you. Because I fail to see any kind of insult. I have simply countered your accusations with actual proof of the PD working against MG. You yourself were asked to NOT be in PD channels to keep the risk of MG down before even making this suggestion. I have shown evidence of people getting punished for MG and you went ahead and called the person in question here "somebody who wanted to help the PD" and accused us of getting rid of him. We punished him for metagaming, what more can we do? You are clearly not satisfied with any evidence I provide but yet fail to show me and the community any evidence of your claims. It is my right and duty as a community member to reply to suggestions and discuss the nature of them.
-
Again, nothing to support your original suggestion. Just attacks. You have been asked not to hang around in PD channels for the very reason of keeping the risks of MG to a minimum and you got upset about it and ran to the forums to fabricate a suggestion full of hate and attacks.
-
So let me get this straight. You are going to use one incident in which somebody who WAS punished for his wrongdoings has called you a rat to justify not reporting any of the blatant rule breaking you state to have witnessed? That is again rather strange. And as expected, you continue to attack the PD and its members for no reason other than your personal dislike for them. You call us incapable of running the department. That is quite easily proven wrong as the PD is, in fact, running very well. Our FTP program is not failing in the slightest. Anyone who makes it through has demonstrated to be passionate about what we do. Your claim that there are almost never cops on is another lie altogether. People are getting arrested, so clearly there are cops? About 95% of your reply is again occupied by pure hatred and attacks towards the PD rather than the original point of your suggestion. There is no evidence that supports your claims. You are just trying to call everyone out because you have a problem with the PD in general. That is not happening. Come back with actual proof, not accusations, and we shall discuss it. And when you do come back, please leave the attacks aside because nobody here has attacked you. That just isn't a good display of character.
-
This is just part of your personal vendetta against the PD and for some reason, you seem to target Katherine in particular, as can be seen by that wonderful Weazel News article you recently wrote which consisted of nothing but hate for the PD and the Chief. I'm going to assume you're trying to pick a bone here. Your own inactivity and inability to do what you're supposed to do is what lead up to you resigning from the PD, keep that in mind. To your suggestion: MG is something that we as the PD do not tolerate in any shape or form, which is quite evident when you consider that we have recently demoted an officer to the lowest rank we have because he was found to be metagaming. Anyone within the PD found to be metagaming is subject to harsh punishments. You know that very well. The PD Teamspeak is the only faction TS or Discord for that matter, that can be monitored by any admin. Any admin can at any time join any channel to see what's going on in there. Another fact you know very well. The PD has multiple admins, moderators and support staff on their roster. Again, you know that. The OOC channels are being monitored by any SGT+ for the very reason that we crack down on MG and the unfair use of Teamspeak. We are waiting for harmdone to introduce a system where we can rely on IG radio entirely but that is still ways off as the radio system just isn't stable. Another fact you are aware of. If metagaming is happening and as you state you have witnessed multiple times, why have you not reported any of it? That seems rather strange. Going by your logic, it is only fair to also close the ECRP discord and the forums because they could potentially be used to metagame and have been used for that reason as detailed in multiple player reports. Now should we shut down discord and the forums because there were some isolated cases of metagaming? I will go back to my original point. This suggestion's sole purpose is to attack the PD as you were not pleased with your departure from the faction. That is quite evident by your recent actions. This will only lead to one thing and that is what other factions on this server do, private discord servers where people talk on voice and they are impossible to moderate. Clearly a no for this suggestion.

That is a good point however, if your drivers license is suspended you can't drive a motorcycle or truck. You're pretty much banned from motorised vehicles during that time.

Character, Server, Criminal, New Player, Economy, Eco-System improvements

I love these suggestions. -
I'm not sure how hard it would be to script a mileage system. I guess the tools are there and the mileage for cars could be stored in a database, similar to how player stats are stored. So when a car is new from the dealership, it has 0 kilometers and 100% health. As you drive it around, it gathers kilometers thus degrading the car's value. 10k Kilometers - 95% 15k Kilometers - 90% 20k Kilometers - 85% etc. I believe it'd be best to start the degredation from 10k onwoard as that's a quite big number and it will take time to actually collect. Yes, 20k kilometers isn't anything for a car IRL but the distances traveled just aren't possible to simulate in a game world in a realistic timeframe. Vehicle Engine Repair: - If a car is at 40% health or less, the owner can chose to have a new engine fitted. That however will be very expensive. Somewhere between the 100k and 150k mark. The vehicle's kilometers would then reset to 0. The health however, won't go back up to 100% but rather be 80% max. You have to keep in mind that everything else on the vehicle is in pretty bad shape after so many miles. The breaks aren't good anymore, the transmission and any other moving part of the vehicle are in a pretty bad condition. Thus locking the max health to 80% after a new engine was installed makes sense. The cycle of degredation would then start again.
-
Mileage. Wear and tear. They shouldn't be too hard to script. Distance traveled would decrease max HP up until it can't be fixed anymore. Had this on other servers and worked reall great. 25k Kilometers - 95% max health 30k Kilometers - 90% max health Car destroyed <10 times - Remove no max health. Car destroyed 10-20 times - Remove 5% max health. Car destroyed 20-30 times - Remove 8% max health. etc. you get the point. Once below 30% new engine could be installed, but it's 100k+ $. Give cars condition and the prices will adjust. Total your car every day That would give actual value to vehicles and their condition.
-
But that's how car business works. Supply and demand. There's tons of cars people don't need anymore but the demand for them isn't all so great. Thus having to make the price appealing. Cars selling under value aren't really crashing the market. They are the only money sink we have right now, the only reliable one at least. If anybody would get exactly what they paid for the car plus upgrades, now that would be bad for the economy. This isn't a bad thing. This helps get money off the server. You are not eligible to make a profit selling a car or break even. I don't see anything wrong with this whatsoever. You are mentioning that it destroys the economy but I fail to see but one example of that.

Our recruitment works flawless. In fact, it works to such a great extent that it makes sure people who call us racist and lazy during their job interview do not get in. There is nothing wrong with PD recruitment. Thank you.
-
Okay, so what's the issue with making it more risky to go around and commit felony crimes? Murder, GTA, etc etc. Is this not a good opportunity to stop the nonsense of openly going around committing crimes in broad daylight on a busy street, but instead take it to the hidden areas, be secretive about it, like a criminal would? Criminals are afraid of cops. Don't watch some movie and base your character off that shit. This isn't Mexico. People avoid the police, they don't actively seek them. So really, what you need to do is role play a proper criminal.
-
Who pays for the supercars? Surely that money needs to come from somewhere? And You can buy an AR for what, 20k? An item you lose probably twice daily on a bad day, but the fines are too much?
-
I don't see how you all don't have money when you drive Zentornos and shoot people up with ARs. Do you see how it's hard for me to believe?
-
You'll say remove because you don't want to lose. We can have this argument all day Mike. It's RP. We simulate a real life environment where actions do have consequences, financial ones. You'd be skinned if you didn't pay your tickets. They freeze all of your accounts and take your assets. So really, what you're doing is campaigning against more RP and realism.
-
Absolutely not. Actions need to have consequences. You all want to drive supercars, pay your fines.
-
Yeah that is a good idea. To be completely honest, I'm not 100% sold on aliases either. But it's better than nothing. I would have prefered a system where you have to /introduce yourself to someone for the name to be visible. But whatever, we have to use what we're handed.
-
Right, I understand. If they can block names in vehicles, sure. We use the license plate to pull people over btw.
-
I don't see the metagaming happening with the aliases. For them to know your name now, you must have told them or they must have been close enough to hear it. The very definition of MG is Metagaming is the act of mixing in-character and out-of-character information. Out-of-character information is not known by your in-game character. For example, your character cannot see player nametags, therefore while roleplaying you must pretend that you do not know the names of the strangers around you. If someone did get to know your name IC, he's not using OOC information.
-
I don't know where your hate and made up accusations come from but I feel sorry for you. I wouldn't call my opinions baseless as I've dealt with Zaki on multiple occasions. I've had both good and bad interactions with him and I'm sure he did as well. So we have rped before and these are just opinions. I'm sure Zaki doesn't take it as bad as you do and doesn't assume it's a blatant attack on him as we've had good rp as well that we both enjoyed. I'm not sure Zaki needs you to defend him either.
