The Seijin Yakuza Family

The Pact

After much contemplation and counsel from those who he trusted, Alberto decided that he was not going to leave the criminal world. With several disappointments exhaustively expressed by his associates, he decided that this time around they would not be aiming for anything less than the best. Alberto and the others would vigorously inspect potential members before any consideration of their admission into the family would begin. To have this kind of trust among the group required something more than a standard agreement, Alberto thought. Naturally, he made the preparations and asked them to meet him in the Dojo.

His family met him there and as requested, Frank was pouring everyone Sake Cups one by one. After Alberto said a few words, they quickly downed their drinks.

After they had taken their first drink as a new family together, Alberto knew that this would not suffice as a pact. He flicked his switchblade from his pocket and slammed two more cups down on the table, looking to Frank.

The others knew that the same would come for them, and Alberto moved down the line.

Gerald has a particular history with Alberto, the two worked together in their very early days of criminal life, but Alberto is significantly older than Gerald, creating somewhat of a paternal relationship. Jack was similar, but Alberto treats the two quite differently.

Alberto looked to Joo fang with admiration for much of his life, and the fact that he would be moving on in career with him like this inspired him greatly to the success they would be facing.

Icarus was always very well known across the city, but his recent close connection to Alberto made this reputation sour in ways. Alberto didn’t mind too much and was happy to bring Icarus closer into his circle.

Though the process was exhausting, Alberto maintained his composure. He was ecstatic, but did not let the others see that. He kept a stone face during the ceremony and moved on to wrap this part up.

Although Alberto had taken this process very seriously, these people were his closest friends in life, and to keep formalities intact would be ridiculous. The rest of the night was much less business oriented.

Protection

The Seijin Family planned on expanding their business horizons to many markets and environments, one of them being protection racketeering. Without having businesses and groups directly under them reliant on protection, Seijin couldn't possibly be taken seriously as an illicit business enterprise in Los Santos. As Alberto viewed this project as the utmost importance, he met with his Saiko-Komon Frank Haswell and detailed to him the plan to him. Effectively, the family would over time heavily incentivize growing businesses to rely on Seijin's protection as an integral part of their business. Business are not expected to be heavily cooperative at fist, but in time the family feels they will come around.

After a discussion with his Saiko-Komon and other advisors, it seemed apparent to the Oyabun that their best choice for the beginning of their protection racket was a business up in the suburbs known as Mirror Park Tuning. The Oyabun directly met with his Saiko-Komon and appointed CJ Mori as his personal assistant on this investigation to MPT. He drafted up an e-mail after the meeting and sent it out.

Frank checked his emails, read it over and began getting ready. He sent a text to Elias Holmes from MPT to schedule a meeting and made his way over to Mirror Park.

Frank left the tuning shop, feeling quite confident in the meeting he had just had. He was uncertain whether or not they took a liking to his plan, but Frank did not mind either way. He met with the Oyabun back at the business property, explaining the information he had gathered. As Alberto wrote behind his desk he nodded along, smiling. It was promising information from the business, and he believed that they would be successful in this endeavor, but there was a looming question about how resistant MPT might be to a little more protection.

The Forty-Five Second Knockout

Icarus knew Asbjorn from his time at Weazel and the two have always had an interesting relationship with each other, not quite hatred, but not quite friendly either. However, after Icarus tried one of Asbo’s beers at Bjorn’s Brewery one night. He knew that the Dojo needed to have Asbo brew something up for them.

So Icarus worked it out to purchase a keg of the beer to sell at their next event. After forty-five days of brewing, the beer was ready to be transported from Bjorn’s to the Dojo. As Icarus isn’t particularly strong, Asbo did most of the heavy-lifting of the keg and getting it into the Dojo.

Icarus also knew nothing about tapping a keg and getting it set up to the line, so Asbo offered to set it up for him and give him a taste of it.

After the keg was all set up, Icarus and Asbo each poured one out into a pint glass. Icarus had the technique right but the beer still ended up a bit foamy. On the other hand, Asbo poured a perfect pint, proving his experience with handling beer.

Icarus tapped the glass on the counter and cheered Asbo.

“Kanpai,” exclaimed Icarus as he took a small sip of the beer. Instantly, he knew this would be a high-seller at the event. The beer had a decadent sweet and malty taste upfront, but with a nice floral note hitting his tastebuds shortly after. This beer was a perfect metaphor for the fight club. A strong hit upfront, but with a friendly, almost congratulating, floral note after.

Asbo told Icarus the name of the beer after, "45-Second Knockout." Truly a perfect signature drink to add to Dojo’s bar.

After the tasting was over, Icarus paid Asbo for the lovely keg and the two went their separate ways.

The Transfer

Alberto tapped snooze on his alarm clock and remained in bed. He looked over and saw it was 7:00 AM. Alberto decided to sleep in for once in a while, until he got a phone call from Jack. He knew it must be urgent since it was so early. He rolled over, grabbed his phone, and answered with a groggy “Hello?”. He immediately knew something was wrong when he heard Jack’s tone. Jack frantically started asking if he knew where Gerald was. Alberto knew nothing and responded accordingly. Jack explained that he hadn’t heard from Gerald in a few days and went to his house to check on him. Upon arrival, he noticed that his closet was thinned out and most of Gerald’s everyday items were gone as well, with one thing still on his nightstand; his phone. Jack made his way to Gerald’s garage and all of his vehicles were still there, besides his Calico. Alberto was quickly woken up by worry and began to ask around to no avail. Nobody had seen or heard from Gerald for the past 4 days. After the panic settled, Alberto and Jack began to relax, knowing that Gerald could handle himself.

The thought of the worst still loomed in the back of their mind, until a week had passed, and during their weekly financial meeting, Gerald busted through the door of the Dojo Seijin office. They were surprised to see him back, and began to scold him for leaving without telling them anything, and without a way for them to communicate with him. Gerald sat down and began to tell them where he disappeared to for the past week. He had traveled out of state to dodge the snow and think about things. He explained that being in charge of so much at such a young age was very demanding on his mental health and he needed a break. Gerald woke up one morning and decided to disconnect. He packed his bags with the essentials, got in his Calico, and drove until he felt like stopping.

Once everything settled down, he gave a proposition. He wanted someone to take his Masamune role in the family. The job that he once loved became a burden on him. The family was on board and wanted whatever would make Gerald feel better. Gerald threw out the name of a member of Seijin that was a well respected, trusted, and most importantly, proven member; Christian Mori, or as they called him, CJ. CJ was a determined, hard worker that got rid of most of the stock in only a few days. His numbers rivaled Alberto’s prime selling days. After a brief discussion, they decided it was a good fit. The next day, Gerald and Jack called CJ to the office. CJ looked around nervously, but Gerald tried to make the room as comfortable as he could. He sat CJ down, and began to type on the computer. CJ heard the printer start, and saw Gerald walk over to it, and grab the paper. Gerald walked back to the desk, grabbed a pen, and began to sign the paper. He handed it to CJ, with the pen, and asked him to read it. The paper was the Seijin paperwork for the creation of the Masamune position, and at the bottom was a new signature line with a red X next to it. Gerald explained what was going on, and CJ’s eyes lit up. After discussing it, CJ bowed slightly, grabbed the pen, and signed the paper. The Masamune position was officially passed on to CJ, and with that comes the start of a new story of Christian Mori’s life.
