  1. I am not aware of anyone that it does not happen to.
  2. @TimmaayyYes, as far as I recall, the last time I used the helicam locking script, the issue still existed.
  3. As usual I can’t speak for PD, but you should not find LEOs disregarding hostages just because they are crims. If they are affiliates of the bank robber, or if we believe we can determine they are a fake hostage, that is a different story.
  4. The current situation is very frustrating because many criminal roleplayers expect us to just roll over and accept that John Gangman, with an active GND file with the gang robbing the bank, is actually a hostage. When we don't accept this and choose to act as if they have no hostage, it's a big surprise and /b happens quickly. I don't know why crims are not able to grab just anyone from the street and take them hostage for a bank. I understand that not everyone wants this to happen to them, but it's real roleplay at the end of the day, more real than the borderline NRP fake hostages going on right now. I can tell you, LEOs would much rather deal with a real hostage than the fake hostages that are happening now.
  5. If it is possible through the script, this would likely be the best option. I struggle to see how it would be possible to enforce this through server rules.
  6. I encourage you to join the Sheriff's Department or Police Department faction. https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewforum.php?f=958
  7. I'm sure this will quickly devolve into chaos, but if I believe there is some benefit to publishing this proposal publicly, and may whatever support or scrutiny come with it. The faction-tier system for criminal factions is a good idea. In theory, it should hold criminal factions to roleplay standards by providing them with incentives to bring good roleplay to the server. Unfortunately, it does not do enough. Along with incentives, there should also be introduced restrictions on low-tier criminal factions, as well as criminals not affiliated with a criminal organization. Three years ago, if a deputy found a Pistol .50 on a traffic stop it would be cause for celebration, getting a gun off of the street. If we were to find a criminal in possession of a shotgun or an AK, this would be a commendable find for the deputy. These days, it is commendable if you survive the onslaught of dozens of these weapons, including MGs that are proliferated across the criminal community. For far too long, increasing access to heavier weapons has been given to criminals in the server with no expectations of responsible roleplay with the weapons. Any criminal in any gang can reasonably get their hands on these weapons if they have the money to import them from a higher-tier gang, and generally, fights even in the criminal world quickly devolve into who has heavier firepower. This hyper-fixation on PVP and assets has leaked into every part of the community, corrupting not just criminal vs. criminal and LEO vs. criminal fights, but all armed conflicts across the server. This may seem like a rant from an out-of-touch LEO who just wants to see criminals nerfed, but let me paint a picture; You are a high roleplay tier criminal faction occupying a commanding presence across a part of Los Santos. You are able to import heavy weaponry and, due to your faction's standards, lore, and roleplay, you are able to wield this weaponry when needed. A new low-tier poor RP street gang pops up and wants to start pressing you. This is a ridiculous attempt, as they are not even able to use body armour and assault rifles. You fight them off with minimal effort and send them back to the Stone Age. Your good RP is further rewarded, and these poor-RP criminals go back to scamming new players with $10k Pistol .50s. The criminal roleplay life is good. Let me paint a picture of what currently happens; You are a high roleplay tier criminal faction occupying a meager presence in power across some of Los Santos. You have few members, but the members you do have hold themselves to a high standard. You have worked up your assets the best you can, but you are still having trouble pressing your power due to your low member count resulting from your high roleplay standard. A new street gang pops up: The "Punk Street Gooners", and they come into possession of an MG, some rifles, and some body armor. You are minding your own business at your faction HQ, doing some roleplay, when a zerg rush of these criminals comes in and starts pressing you. One of your faction members exits their house with body armor and an assault rifle, telling them to piss off. They start escalating more by talking shit, until a car full of their gang members pull up with body armor and assault rifles, one of them holding an MG, and proceed to hold you all hostage, shave your head, and raid your house. Your high-tier gang that has been around for the past 2 years is now broke, while the Punk Street Gooners go kill 15 PD when they are pulled over for a traffic infraction. This is not a server any of us wants to play in. I will admit, I have been frustrated recently with heavily-armed criminals seeking out cops to kill for no incentive. This is what motivated me to create this thread. That being said, it does not have to be a nerf to crims. It will greatly decrease the power of the poorest roleplayers in the community, while uplifting those who want to support good criminal roleplay by giving them a significant armed advantage.
  8. I agree with Marksy that the problem with the server right now is entirely in the PVP mentality. A way to fix this is to lock weapons behind faction tiers. Not the import of the weapon, but the usage of weapons themselves. Why should non gang-affiliated criminals, or criminals affiliated in a low-tier gang have access to heavy weaponry if they have not demonstrated the roleplay standards to use these weapons? SD and PD are held to unimaginable standards compared to criminals currently. A simple mistake by a deputy or officer results in a multi-day suspension, while a crim can take out his MG and Niobi, kill 5 cops, and then they: 1)Die, get their MG brought back to them by another crim who survived 2)Get arrested, sit in jail for 3 hours 3)Get away Where is the roleplay in this?? Why should people who are just looking to kill cops and not do actual roleplay be trusted with these weapons? Don't even get me started on the vehicles being sold in the server for the pure reason of making money for the server owners. If the usage of heavy weapons is restricted to faction tier, I believe we will see significant improvements to criminal roleplay in the server.
  9. Not sure why we need to catch strays. Whether you agree with Harvey's comments or not, he has at least presented what he believes are issues, not just rumors about how people are complaining more about PD! For the record, I do not, nor does the faction command in general, endorse any comments made by Harvey here. Regardless, we have made this forum https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewforum.php?f=2108 so you can direct those criminals to submit their concerns there and avoid any complaining.
  10. ight you getting pulled out next time
  11. it does not snow in los santos!!! it is a Mediterranean-type climate!
  12. Date and time (provide timezone): June 12th, 2024 at 12:22 AM UTC Character name: Wiley Reno Issue/bug you are reporting: The helicopter camera radar does not seem to be working as intended. I noticed there was a reported bug fix in #development, but the issues persist. Not only does the sometimes radar read "0 km/h" when a vehicle is moving, but it also now provides an accurate speed reading to the 14th decimal place when the speed radar is working as intended. Expected behavior: The helicam speed radar should always display the vehicle's spread rounded to the nearest integer. It seems that the attempted bugfix of the previous issue has resulted in this issue and not fixed the original problem. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: The issue can be replicated by simply locking on to a vehicle in the helicam. I imagine that the 0 km/h reading is likely an issue of render range, so going to a high altitude should replicate that issue.
  13. Little on the nose, don't ya think?

    a WORLD?
  15. I mean it's not a universally inappropriate clothing choice. There are plenty of real gangs that "run colors", but they are far from the type of gang that many gangs attempt to portray themselves as.
  16. Nobody in organized crime, even Italian-American organized crime, dresses like this. If you want to roleplay a crime family from 70 years ago, that's fine but there's plenty of clothing to roleplay a modern crime family, people just opt for gang colors due to poor standards.
  17. this u? Allow me to reiterate; We only remove or deny TRULY hateful players from the faction.
  18. To be honest, I think your comments are coming from a place of extreme anti-woke sentiment instead of actual validity. You should know as well as anyone as a former member of the faction that we have plenty of people just like you who don't mind gay people and are tolerant of them, but are slightly off put by the excess of pride or the "forceful" nature of some pride demonstrations. Many of our faction members from Eastern Europe, from Eastern Asia, from Africa all share this sentiment, and it would be ridiculous if we were to wage war on members who simply aren't as used to western, progressive sentiments like this. You should know that the only players being targeted are those who are truly hateful, not just random members of the faction or applicants who have expressed slight discomfort with the progressive nature of our expression. You're really expressing a non-problem here. People who hold views like you are not being walked around being called homophobes, people who hold these views actively in our faction are not being suppressed, you're just wrong. Your sentiments are coming more from a reactionary view of our policy rather than any actual "discrimination" or labeling of people with your viewpoint. If you can give me a point where someone from our faction called one of the many people with your viewpoints homophobic for your views, I'd be happy to hear it, but you're really just making something bigger out of a non-issue.
  19. For clarity, I was not referring to your comment. I am aware of plenty of "John from Texas" in our faction, and they are generally quite accommodating and tolerant, I can assure you that our faction only denies and removes truly intolerant individuals.
  20. I find the constant comments about "Freedom of Speech" to be quite misguided. No one will argue that anyone can say almost anything within reason about their opinions on the LGBT movement, but the second someone faces consequences for their speech, freedom of speech is being violated? Would you, for example, take issue with someone being laid off from their job due to making their colleagues uncomfortable with their speech? Freedom of speech is universal, if you think that your rights are being infringed upon because of removal or denial from a faction, you have a very warped view of what freedom of speech means. As the person in charge of SD's recruitment, I have, with the support of my command, a responsibility to maintain the faction as a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all members. I have no interest in people with certain warped viewpoints of gay rights joining the faction and feeling uncomfortable with our progressive attitude on the situation, and furthermore would not want to see these individuals making our faction members uncomfortable. Individuals and players in this community are free to hold whichever viewpoints they feel proper, and furthermore express those viewpoints with those speech, I think this is undeniable. What is also undeniable, though, is that as an independent faction, we have the right (and responsibility in my view) to restrict our private faction to only those we see fit. Just as you would see a consequence for not meeting other fitness requirements such as being OOCly toxic on forums or discord, an accepting and tolerant view is also a requirement for admission to our faction.
  21. I like the fit bro!
  22. Hey, I sent you a message. It’s been a few days, please look at it ASAP. It’s here on the forums.
