Your Car/Bike Always gets Yeeted when your game crash? Here's a Solution!

Hello everyone, I would like to make a game changing suggestion that will be very helpful to everyone. (It will require some game development though!)

So we all encounter game crashes while playing on the server, and we've all been in that situation where your game crashes while driving your car/bike and you quickly hop on ECRP discord - #crash_reports and you post " your name, location, your car, (DO NOT TAKE!) ", you restart the game and you spawn back in, and "SHOCKER", your car has been yeeted and at that moment, it's probably getting chopped. Some people are new to the server and they're not aware of #crash_reports, but some people ignore it and they don't even check the discord before yeeting a car.

This happened to me multiple times, I was driving a Neon, which is 1 Mill car, then my game crashes and I do the procedure above, but no luck. You have to pay a good amount of money to Mors, which in my case 17500$, and you have to wait 4 hours IRL. Some people gets lucky and they do /report and an admin quickly responds, but sometimes, an admin wouldn't be available for numerous reasons.

This whole thing and how it happens is extremely unrealistic and nonRP, because realistically, if you "didn't crash" there would be no way that someone got into your car and drove off while you're "driving it".

With that being said, I would to suggest a fix for this issue :

1- If the car/bike was unlocked, no one can access it for 15 minutes after the owner/player who has keys to it had crashed, (a timer would show up when someone tries to get inside of it, showing how much time left to be allowed to drive it), excluding moderators and admins.

2- If the car was locked, it can't be picklocked for 15 minutes after the owner/player who has keys to it had crashed. ( a timer would show up when someone tries to picklock it, showing how much time left to be allowed to pick it), again, excluding moderators and admins.

3- After the player spawns back in, there would be a 30 seconds mark, after the 30 seconds have passed, the car/bike would be accessible for everyone.

(This 30 seconds would give time to the player to have their game fully loaded up.)

4- In case of the car/bike has been stolen and the guy is on his way to the chopshop and his game crashed, the car/bike won't show up for the owner when using /showvehicles for 15 minutes, also, it won't be accessible to anyone for that time frame. This will allow him to finish his RP.

If anyone would like to suggest some changes to this, feel free to do so!

Cheers!

I see this being abused as a way to counteract somebody stealing you vehicle under normal circumstances.

Maybe if there was a check that the person was in the drivers seat of the vehicle before making it inaccessible. If we could do that then I would be fine with it.

I have been in this situation a lot of times and every time, my car gets yeeted and find it getting chopped....

I know admins have the ability to check who was the last driver of the vehicle, if this can be used by the system, it would be good to make a 10-15 min timer. No one would be able to access it in this duration except: (locked or unlocked | if the driver has keys)

  • Cops (a lot of people combat log in pursuits which might affect the RP + not to be abused)
  • Anyone who has keys (so they would be able to move the car or secure the car)

If it is unlocked and the driver has no keys (stolen) no one should be able to access it except:

  • Cops (a lot of people combat log in pursuits which might affect the RP + not to be abused)

(if it can be made that it does not show up on the /showvehicles that would be great as RPly the guy should be driving it)

ADMINS, have the right to remove the cool down as, if the guy is being chased by the owner and he combat logs, the owner/player who has keys can do a report (/report) to be able to retrieve the car.

This is a big request, maybe impossible as it might need a lot of coding and hard work from the development team to make it happen. I just wanted to give my idea about it, and maybe what is stated above can help.

+1 I'd like seeing a script supported system to prevent vehicle thefts resulting from crashes , or at least automatically have an admin marker that says player has crashed then gets deleted upon return to prevent abuse of the whole unable to steal thing

I like the idea of a message as you enter the vehicle, but it shouldn't stop the player, due to potential abuse. "The last driver of this vehicle was last online '##' minutes ago." A similar message is sent when you enter a government vehicle, telling you who the cruiser belongs to, or if it doesn't.

Seasoned players check #crash_logs and they also often realize a player has crashed if the car is literally in the middle of the road.

Or fix the whole thing by making a new lock pick system add a hotwire part to it and if you really want make a chop list that chopshop want specific cars and get's rotated ever 6 hours or once a day that would reduce the amount of unrealistic chopping because people treat as like a easy money grind which that's not the purpose
