Stop having a 18 month gun revoke across the board.... It's enabling CRIME.

My name is Eva Hampton.

 

I was arrested for having a SNS pistol instead of a pistol which I purchased at the gun store, with a valid license. It was an accident, and a cop came to arrest me for it almost instantly and that's fine. I explained it was an accident, and the cop proceeded to say that the gun was a unlicensed.... Fast forward I have a misdemeanor related to a gun and now can't get a gun for 18 REAL MONTHS. I think that is promoting illegal activity and I'm not sure if it's set up this way to stimulate the economy by having people buy other people's guns, etc but I think to mark people for this is absurd.  

 

Suggestion:  You judge on a case to case basis. The officer gets to decide the time or some system with levels that the police can pick from with an appeal process.

I'm currently halfway through my 18 month wait for Form C for a felony I committed when I was fairly new to the server, and is still my only felony on record. Its a good amount of time to build a story arc around for your character, but 12 months might be more appropriate. Again, its an IC issue.

If you have only been charged with the unlicensed firearm, the re-apply period is not 18 but 3 OOC months. 18 OOC months is only for the very serious, character-defining felonies.

Personally though, I think it's important there are genuine long lasting consequences and a dividing line between law abiding citizen and criminal. 

Is it even possible to buy an firearm you aren't allowed to from the gun store?

It is. To be honest that might be the best fix to avoid this issue, just limiting the script to the ones you are licensed to, somehow, though that might be hard since it's just a "comment" on the license.

Other than that, it's really an IC issue and should be dealt accordingly.
