Some improvements for crim faction dear god

This is a rant from a long time of playing eclipse so just allow the random topics as i feel like they are relevant.

I've played Eclipse for a year or so now and i see more and more how much more bias there are for official factions and the advantages they get over others. Now i think not any gang should be able to import weapons and mass buy black market items, but i think with the new system in place the smaller non official gangs should be able to hold the territories and gain access to maybe some lower tier weaponry , items or heavies at a more expensive price than what established gangs may get, just to level the playing field a little more between new young gangs and old gangs and large combinations of gangs like council, i feel with more opportunity for anyone to take it will help freshen up the city and people can do more.

Also i think there is no consideration for other crim factions like street racers, and with the new crim mechanic i think players should be able to do some actions like engine swaps on cars, it'll allow for some funny moments with cars like warreners with an Rapid GT engine. Of course this may come at a decent price, maybe 25% of the stock car value to do that. This will encourage others to have a bit more fun and expand on their rp, maybe making sleeper builds, also being able to remove a number plate from a car would be nice too so that someone can mask their car from cameras and police if they are operating outside the law. And thats just one or two ideas for one group, there are a few groups that have no support but could be looked into to give people more branches and depth to go into for fun. Another group which ive always thought to be a fun idea is a terror cell that can operate against PD to try and cause anarchy in the server making the government and PD to work hard on turning the player base against the terror cell / cell's and to try and stop any or all terrorists / anarchists that they to sabotage the city.

Also getting rid of public robberies would be a nice improvement and would allow the crim faction to breathe a bit more, at the end of the day i do not want to be caught in a robbery and i want to weigh up my chances with the reward i may get with the danger of a police, gang or bystander seeing or intervening, also, i dont think the rules should dictate that by saying "In real life that area would be populated", because this isn't real life, its a game and while i know RP tries to make it a bit more real it should still be fun and hold onto aspects of being a game. In a general sense, please allow for criminals to operate more freely in their activities and dont determine in the rules how they should do things, as it starts to ruin rp. And to add to this string of rule changes i'd like i think report baiting should be a warn-able offence, as im fed up of robbing someone and facing in ooc "Reported, see you on forums" just to try and scare me to give their stuff back, its pathetic and something needs to be done about it.

Finally this is a controversial opinion but i believe admins while most are not, some are bias towards their factions. And i'd like to see admins being unable to be any faction to avoid any temptation to protect their faction (This should apply across both characters), this point is more just a personal nag that i have but i think having a non bias admin team is what the server should aim for.

crim rp is dieing and the route its on there wont be any criminals because they dont want to be reported or banned, unable to do anything interesting. instead they will prefer police / civilian jobs to avoid troubles.

please add below shit your tired of xox

Defiantly agree with every point. I think the high risk/low reward, shouldn't be up to the server rules, it should be up to the player at that moment of time, to think and make decisions, do i want to take this risk or not?

I think with the eclipse economy is just a cheat to give more money to the biggest factions so they stay on the top of the list. I feel like admins/server favour more towards the people who donate most, or are in fact administrator in a faction. This system will only cause stress to criminal RP, leaving only official gangs and their few allies around. I loved the idea of people being creative, starting up their own gangs, as that's how most of my funnest times and friendships I had on eclipse. In my opinion, with this system of economy, "council" will only just gain an extreme amount of profit, leaving them with no wars between any gang. As bored as both anti council and council are, a lot will leave the server due the same cycle.

When you get rid of one small gang, most of them leave with them as after the smaller gangs go, they have nothing left but 2 options. To fight an extreme large amount of people and die, Or stay in an NCZ 24/7.

Lastly, the server caps large gangs up to 40 members is extremely ineffective. It in facts creates the situation much worse... For example, Aztecs having a sub gang after their cap. They are now based all over the map due to HQ. Furthermore having 2x Laptop access (if they come official, which they probably will) is just more money to feed the largest factions.

I feel like half the server is becoming just one whole big gang against all the people who try and be creative and rp, but not only do they get fucked by the amount of people they have to fight, but also the finance they have to go through during that time and if they don't fight they just get sucked into council.

Iv had friends on the server who either left the server as they couldn't do anything about it, or just ended up joining council and getting burnt out after a month since there is nothing to do when you have everything.

Give me your opinions on these politics.

Would love to contribute, but could you reduce your.. 'rant' as you stated to a defined list of suggestions. Or are there suggestions already out there you can notate we may contribute to and support in relation?

I do NOT want to go back to the days of standing in a clothing shop with a gun out, watching every person who comes in, hoping I don’t get robbed. I don’t want to go back to getting robbed while refueling in the middle of the city. I don’t want to go back to getting robbed in extremely public places, like the pier,  is now. -1

Staff members are already not allowed to take reports from their own faction members. Not allowing them to be in any faction would be ridiculous. Noone would want to be staff, they're players as well.

The public robberies rule is very useful because it incetivizes civilian RP and communication between individuals while it reduces Non-RP behaviour. I don't see why it should ever be removed (maybe modified, yeah). I don't want to go back to getting robbed at the parking lot.

All staff members will try to protect their own faction. 99% of the staff members are also members of factions with a lot of members (not necessarily official, for now) and I don't see why they should not be allowed to roleplay like everyone else. Now you didn't give enough details about when they are biased but there's internal rules about reports and such, so you better focus on RP-ing while they focus on moderating.

I feel like with anything in crim RP it is so easy to slip up and get banned. There are some obvious shit that people should get banned for like combat logging, but it is so easy to like accidentally mistake someone's identity and DM them.

Only admin+ can take reports against their own faction, and it takes A LOT of work to get there. If you believe there is potential bias, you can request for a different staff member to review the case (as some people have done in the past).

Crim rp just puts you in more situations that allow rule breaks, but it does not mean that you can't play clean. Plenty of long time criminals have very clean records. Just like anyone else, you always want to make sure you follow the rules. It is better to lose a situation, than to try to win it by breaking the rules.
