krooks365
Just my opinion, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I suggest that XP should be account bound not character tied. XP is primarily used as a wall to keep inexperienced people from jobs until they have gained enough 'experience' to show an understanding of the city and of the server rules. I understand from the RP side that you need to like start over in terms of city knowledge when you have a new character. So perhaps even if you had like an aggregate total of XP that was account wide and you could see the breakdown but the aggregate total was used for the most part. The second part of this is I believe that jobs/RP roles in which you will have a high chance of being put in situations where you will have to interpret and follow rules to a T (robberies, killing people, arrests, etc) [yes I am talking about PD, SD, and Gangs] ought to have a higher XP threshold to get in. Right now the threshold is only at 5k for PD, 6k for SD, 7k for Wanted, 25k for Triads, 15k for Zetas. I think all should be at least double digits requirements. I could sit at the bank for three days at get 5k and not know the city nor the rules. I think this would lead overall to more competent and quality RP on both sides of the legal line.

Aldarine
Overall -1 XP thresholds for jobs are set internally by the people within those factions as they see fit so not really something to make a suggestion regarding. XP being character bound gives a general idea of how long you have been playing on that character and how much effort you've put in/development has been done. Some jobs use XP between characters when making a determination (SD uses cross character whereas PD does not from what I know). As with XP thresholds, there are internal reasons for these decisions. Xoza
As I understand most government jobs will accept the XP requirement to be reached by any character or a total between all characters. XP is OOC, so this requirement should be achievable from any character source or a combination of it. XP requirements are set by the faction leaders. Not sure how much that can be adjusted. +/-

Jasmine
Disagree that the only purpose of XP is a gate to gov jobs. Only a small percentage of the communiyy are gov workers. XP to me is an achievement system. It shows a players commitment and experience level in the community. It raises your welfare, and can indicate the level of RP to expect with a player and that characters reputation in the city. Starting another character should not give a welfare bump. Outside of that I dont have a problem with account wide xp. But then the welfare system needs to be detached from xp. Jasmine
As for gov factions raising the min XP, thats a NO for me for 2 reasons: 1) The faction owners should and do set their own requirements. And they best understand the needs of the faction. 2) XP is not a great indicator of RP standards. I for one had a ton of XP but was rather shit at RP for a long time because Eclipse was my first RP community. (You can go look at my videos as proof). And conversely, Ive met great RPrs with minimal XP. It is best left to the factions, and is a case-by-case decision. If their is poor RP in the gov factions, they should just be removed, or that faction should adjust their recruitment standards.
