jendookie Posted September 3, 2019 Report Share Posted September 3, 2019 (edited) Since people play on different pings and the server is kind of inconsistent it leads to the desync causing a horrible experience for everyone, not to mention this being brought up in literally every report made. If the hit registration was client sided on the other hand then the person wouldn't be just sponging bullets but instead actually getting hurt, which is also rewarding for the person who is actually good at hitting their shots rather than having to luckily miss and kill them. +1 Edited September 3, 2019 by jendookie 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vacant Posted September 3, 2019 Report Share Posted September 3, 2019 Im in the middle, many other games had client sided things which ended up abused, it would fix desync but could also cause more desync if someone has a higher ping and hits you around a corner as an example. How do you catch? Do you ban everyone playing from Australia? West US? Some people will naturally have high ping, and some people will inflate it artificially. You can see it as a disadvantage on the way you're looking at it, but on the other hand when people are lagging it doesnt help when the hit reg is server sided, but if its client sided you'd damage them eventhough they're lagging so it depends how you look at it i guess.
