Smoke1 Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 (edited) So my thought is come up with a way to allow players to pay for stamps? or to pay to bail their friends out of prison with money! Like in the real world you can bail your friend out. I think some people that get caught up in situations that dont go in their favor and end up getting 1-3 hours in DOC with nobody around to assist them like FM, being stuck there is terrible an Ruins meaningful role play. I think the maximum time in DOC should be an hour but that's a whole other discussion, If you don't have VIP the 1-3 hours is brutal especially if the spawn rates aren't there for garbage and laundry due to them just being farmed. We are on such a positive note of change and a great direction for the server, I think this should be considered for the new prison system being developed. Anyone who has spent over an hour in DOC can tell you it kills all Ruins meaningful rewarding role play Edited January 12 by Smoke1 2 1 Quote
RustyOsprey2 Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 (edited) People will complain and say that "Prison used to be so much worse, you used to spend 12 hours bla bla bla". But in reality, 1 hour is fine imo. The issue with that, however, is the fact that pleading guilty and the new completely fair royal VIP for only 50 euros a month reduces your prison times by what, over 40%?. So if the max time was an hour, it would end up being barely half an hour in reality. For people with these benefits, a 2-hour sentence already goes to about an hour, and a 3-hour sentence not even two. With the bail type system, that would be cool. But it shouldnt be added on top of a reduction in max DOC times. Edited January 12 by RustyOsprey2 1 Quote
AtlasOLimbo Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Please no. While I don't play anymore, as someone who dealt with groups with a seemingly infinite warchest, I'm really not fond of arresting the same people for multiple felony arrests in the same day. 1 Quote
DaddyShrood Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 With the upcoming prison update, and the changes which are being made to Parole within DOC, this idea would serve no purpose. If you wanna make prison time an hour then go ahead, but it then makes actions have 0 consequences and would essentially render the entire DOC faction null and void. Yes it can suck, and yes being on your own inside is pretty boring but I don't think the solution to it is to just remove the prison, or make it pointless. Why don't we instead look at what we could ADD to the prison to make it less boring and far more fun to be in. 1 Quote

Eliza Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 This wouldn’t work unless we completely rework DOC and JB to give trials before your sentencing, which will never happen, because in the real world bail exists as a payment to say you will go to the court day so you don’t have to wait it out in jail. Doesnt always have to be completely realistic like irl. Just allow people to pay a certain amount of money to have someone get out of prison, that simple. Quote

The only solution is to then make the cost of getting out astronomically high, therefore removing the ability for new players to enjoy the feature. 1 Quote
