SaltyPoiosn Posted March 21, 2025 Report Posted March 21, 2025 This post almost intertwines with a current suggestion to a certain extent regarding the way blunts work on this server, though I do think drug effects are cool, I think the system is flawed. Blunts healing you makes little to no sense from a realistic stand point. I think having the ability to bandge and medkit makes much more sense I would like to see bandages heal you to a max of 75 health, taking around 5 seconds per bandage, then medkits taking 10-15 seconds but healing you to 100. The current meta in fights is taking blunts which is literally the easiest thing in the world, there is no risk and there's no skill involved in pressing smoke then typing /toss. There's no con to smoking blunts. If you are shot mid fightm you should have to retreat and take some time to heal yourself. A blunt acts a passive heal as if you are playing overwatach. Its unrealistic. Painkillers should increase your wellness as the addition of these new items would make them useless. This would also balance out PD vs Crims as PD only have the option of painkillers if they are hit. With this we will all be on the same level playing field. It will also create some new ways to push, I'll give you an exmaple. If i hit someone 5 times I know they are one hit right? However they have likely smoked a blunt leading to them sitting on their head peak or right peak so even if i push because I know i have them hurt, they will still most likely kill me based on the fact they have that peak. This ends up with fights being very similar and its basically a case of who has bigger balls or more patience. With this addition it would change this, If i hurt someone who is holding a peak. I know they have to spend some time to heal using these new items. Making the fights and standoffs more fluid and realistic. Quote

Frankly i am against any item which can offer you significant healing in the middle of a gunfight. be it a blunt or a medkit or a bandage or whatever. feel like we are getting too close to Fortnite style PVP mechanics. The sentence "I shot him like 7 times but then he hid behind that wall and popped a medkit." is not something i wanna hear. The painkillers we have right now work because the healing happens very slowly over a period of time they are not effective in a fight unless its a total standoff. 1 Quote

The painkillers we have right now work because the healing happens very slowly over a period of time they are not effective in a fight unless its a total standoff. +1 If we had bleeding mechanics (gunshot/stab makes you continually drain HP), maybe bandages/sutures could exist for people who have a BLS certificate and kit, but it shouldn't restore health, just maybe stop the loss of it. Then it would still require you to properly RP taking out a the bandages and performing the actions. But yeah popping meds and instantly healing would be/is a whack concept for a semi-realistic RP server LOL Quote
