babx Posted October 4, 2022 Report Posted October 4, 2022 (edited) Hello, I've been thinking about this idea for so long but I am still looking into it how to make it as realistic as possible. There are multiple benefits for this to be implemented. It will make carrying cash more realistic (currently, you can carry millions in your "pockets" which is not as realistic as it could be) When handing over cash, there is only "/ame" visible and there is no "interaction" between players. Just basic use of "/me'". If cash is being handled over in the bag for example, no one would know what is in the bag. Considering everyone is being taxed, and criminals don't like taxes - cash could be stored inside the safe and have more opportunities to evade taxes When robbing people - if they die before they do /pay after the RP is done, the cash is lost forever (this way, cash would still be in the pockets and you could rummage through the pockets to still get it) If you are seen doing criminal activity where you get cash from, again, it goes to your inventory and it can be for example handed over to someone if you are going to evade from cops or robbers. How would this be implemented? Considering there is 50 vol in the inventory, and 100 vol in the bag - it is hard to figure out the weight of the cash. IRL, you can store millions in the bag but not in the pockets. The most realistic way would be to make different bills from $1, $2, $5, $10, $100 and $1000 bills. All weighing 0.1 vol. This way, you could carry $500,000 in your pockets and $1,000,000 in the bag which is still unrealistic considering the "pockets". However, if you can carry 10 logs in your pockets, it would make sense. The other way is just set that each $1,000 you have weights 0.1/1 vol. (Max $500,000/$50,000 in your pockets) You have <$1,000 - 0.1 vol/1 vol You have = $1,000 - 0.1 vol/1 vol You have > $1,000 - 0.2 vol/2 vol i.e. You have $25,435 - 2.6 vol/26 vol EDIT: Current state of inventory management with "Split" option might make this hard to handle. Please, implement "Split" option for custom values. Edited October 4, 2022 by babx 3 1 Quote
MrGamer1823 Posted October 4, 2022 Report Posted October 4, 2022 +1 this sounds like a good idea Quote
ChuckM Posted October 17, 2022 Report Posted October 17, 2022 Physical objects are subjected to item duping. Unfortunately that out weighs all the pros. Quote
Kenny Davis Posted October 26, 2022 Report Posted October 26, 2022 Very well written suggestion! +1 Quote

I mean, that means that drugs can be duplicated as well, chop parts, any item that can now be sold at pawnshop... Guns are different story if they have serial and it can be easily tracked with simple query on database... But for existing items that produce money by selling them, I see no problem with money being an item as well. 1 Quote
DoTo Posted October 28, 2022 Report Posted October 28, 2022 I think this is a very fun idea, although I'd love to see other changes that make cash more useful and viable to use go along with it. Quote
Homast Posted October 28, 2022 Report Posted October 28, 2022 I vote for the 1000 dollar method. I would love to see this added, as it not only adds to the realism aspect, but it also provides players with another way to tax evade without subjecting themselves to paying 35% tax without owning a business. Additionally, It would be more rewarding if you raid somebodys house and you find their cash all under their bed :). Very +1 2 Quote
