  1. Date and time (provide timezone): 26/Jan/2024 Character name: N/A Issue/bug you are reporting: Following the latest update to trailer sync, it is no longer possible to teleport trailers once they have been detached as they are frozen. If attempting to teleport the trailer to another dimension, the trailer correctly appears in the new dimension but still in the same original position as it was in dimension 0. If a trailer ends up bugged or stuck somewhere, the only solution is to delete it because of this, resulting in time and money lost for the truck driver. Expected behavior: Trailers should be able to be teleported normally via /getveh or /getlocalveh Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Steps to replicate: Get a truck, get a trailer. Attach the trailer to the truck. Detach the trailer. Attempt to teleport the trailer.

    Poem

Awesome poem man, thank you! @ComradeCorbyn, @Bala, @Osborn what do you guys think?
  3. Date and time (provide timezone): Since the update this morning, 20/Jan/2024 Character name: Irrelevant Issue/bug you are reporting: Vehicles are lightly translucent and not solid. Lights shine through. Expected behavior: Vehicles are solid and not translucent. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Vehicle license plate number*: All vehicles are affected.
  4. People do talk about that. Using the NVE vegetation dlcpack that does this is not allowed. But that's off topic here, really.
  5. +1, I've always been a gunshot mod advocate. They do not increase the range of audible gunshots and never have, that's pretty much determined by streaming distance and not really able to be increased by much if anything, certainly not by just replacing a few sound files. They do increase the volume in most cases, making them easier to hear, sure. The same "advantage" can be achieved by upping your game volume.
  6. wow, this is an epic guide! finally I know how to fill out my DOC application, thanks!
  7. Later at night and during north american timezones, cops are outnumbered by crims in almost every single situation. Should we introduce a crim to cop response ratio too?
  8. Oh, absolutely. Especially regarding OOC IA reports, there is not really an issue with them and it doesn't matter who they come from. ICly, sure, cops need to be held accountable but it's really only the petty reports that are the issue there. It's absolutely nonsensical and definitely smells weird and more OOCly motivated than anything else when a hardened criminal who shoots and murders on a regular basis creates an IA report because an LEO was a little mean or disrespectful to them. When it comes to actual misconduct, sure.
  9. Over the years, I've essentially been involved in every aspect of raids being conducted in some way or another as I've had characters in commanding positions in SDs GND and Internal Affairs. I'd like to touch up on a few points made in this thread. First off, IC raids are not and were never based on any OOC distaste or motive from any of the involved investigative units. The nature of the system doesn't allow this, it's simply not possible for something like that to affect IC actions to this extend, simply because of the very large amount of different people from different factions involved in approving a raid. There's a lot of different eyes that have to go over the files and IC reasoning created before it ever gets to that point, in many cases this already includes staff early on to make sure information has actually been acquired ICly in a valid way. Yes, this is sad but quite literally not possible to be solved. Warrants get created over the span of weeks, sometimes months in many cases and they get executed as soon as possible once they are actually approved, but this depends on availability on LEOs side as well, as again, there are a LOT of people involved. You need investigative units, you need tactical units, you need high level administrative staff for the actual execution. If you add another variable, i.e. the affected player having to be online, good luck ever getting that to happen. There's obviously a benefit for the LEO side too, I don't think anyone involved intentionally "offline raids" another player since it adds an additional hassle anyway. The player needs to be arrested or interrogated as part of the aftermath anyway. Honestly, this is really IC but I will say that if your property gets raided, there is 100% a current connection and cause for each specific property. "Blanket" raids on all your properties because you've been a naughty boy are not a thing. Does that not make sense? If there are known locations where you are known to stash things, why would investigative units not go to those locations and scout them out, given actual activity and cause? No one will just sit at any of these locations for hours without any IC cause. You might believe this to be the case and I understand why, but that doesn't happen. Mostly because it's boring as fuck and no one wants to do that. I can't speak to much on this since I was never involved with faction services or anything of the like, but I feel like there should be an easier way to obtain different warehouses and change locations, given that things get comped all the time. I agree with you there. The idea that you're "stuck" with a warehouse that's been comped and raided and is documented in gang files etc. is a bit silly to me, because yeah, you're essentially just fucked from there on out. So I agree with you there. Because it IS IC. I'm sorry! If there are concerns about the IC legimitacy of things that lead to a warrant being issued, those need to be brought up to LFM or similar. A regular staff member isn't able to investigate such claims because of how deep they go, they simply don't have access to any of the required information and factions releasing these documentations to any random staff member is not feasible. I really don't know what admins have to do with this, but okay. If cops know there is something they COULD find and don't find it, doesn't it make sense for them to keep pushing? I dunno about the term witch hunt, but all of that is always based on IC actions of the past, looping back on what I touched on earlier, there is a lot that goes into every single interaction you, as a criminal, have with any investigatory unit. Nothing is just random or because of hatred or OOC or IC distaste. Everything gets checked over five times by ten different people and, despite that apparently being a common point of view, LEO factions are NOT self regulating in this aspect. A lot of things require approval from JB etc etc. I fail to see how this is ruleplay, but if you think it is, why wasn't it reported? A regular forum report or taken to LFM. Complaining does nothing. If you are mocked for it IC, that's IC, I don't see your point. As ex-IA Command, I can assure you that NO ONE likes Internal Affairs, so that's a given. There's arguments to be made about how much sense it makes for a hard, cop killing criminal to constantly make IA reports, which is probably why any OOC mockery takes place, although I don't think it should and if there is, such should be reported to, again Internal Affairs, LFM or just staff, considering that could potentially be a rulebreak, OOC behavior and the likes. Not sure what this has to do with anything. Such changes are not influenced by any of the legal factions on the server. It's a development thing that I don't think we have much, if any influence on. Again, how does this not make sense? I don't know what specific legal endeavors you are referring to, but if there is clear affiliation, then how can you be expecting for a literal gang member to be accepted into a legal faction, or supported by those? What IC justification could those factions reasonably have to actually allow that? There's still options you have. Legal fronts are a thing that have been done before, and I don't think there's much stopping you from doing those things again if you're smart about it. I really don't want to hit you with "skill issue" but I mean... There's players and factions that do all those things WITHOUT having their properties raided, without being constantly targeted by LEOs. You or your faction being targeted is a DIRECT result of your IC mistakes and nothing else. If you let it come to be point where you're being surveilled and watched, that is your own fault, I'm sorry to say it like that. There's things to prevent that, precautions to take and things you can do even when you're already past that point. No LEO faction cares enough or has the resources to watch any specific faction or player without giving them a break and room to breathe, not even necessarily intentionally but that's just the nature of it. Hey, I actually agree with all of these suggestions. I think they are good and probably deserve their own thread. But let's be real, it's not impossible to not get raided even without any of these suggestions implemented. There's some great ideas people have had in the past to make it hard for LEOs to raid properties, for example the self storage idea that was around for a little while. Sadly it never took off because of some IC mistakes the people in charge made, but those could've easily been avoided and the whole thing would've been a fantastic opportunity for criminals to stash things. Maybe someone will pick up that idea in the future again, or a similar one.

    Civ RP is dead

Fixing civilian RP as a system is not hard. Make an easy process for RP businesses to exist, subsidize them with a system that makes sure the people operating the business are ABLE to make a decent amount of income from roleplay without having to sell items or services for a silly high price. This doesn't even need script support. If we're talking script support, there's still not too many additions that need to be done. Essentially, all that's needed is an item generator script. Let business owners and employees generate items with icons and names that they can sell. They don't need to do anything, maybe food can be consumed, that'd be nice. Letting players work at convenience stores would also be super cool. Have them take orders and process them. The server needs freelance jobs that people can do where they are rewarded for the ROLEPLAY that they do, not them doing a repetitive script. That would go a long way. Burger Shot was a great step towards this. Unfortunately, as fun as the roadworking job may be, I think it was a step away from that again.
  11. I'm not sure how many cops you think are on duty at any given time but I can assure you it's a lot less than you think. Off peak time, there's rarely ever more than 10 LEOs online combined. Is that too much? I'm not sure what the expectation is here.
  12. I do not think anyone is trying to deny anything here. It'd be silly to say that no LEO has ever shot someone they weren't supposed to shoot or no LEO has ever been in a pursuit where there's 10 cars chasing a white Warrener on the freeway. This stuff happens. Rarely, sure, but it does happen. Having excessive units for a situation naturally happens a lot more since the IC consequences for just shooting at someone outside of the respective law enforcement agencies' force matrix are extremely severe and can easily end up with that character being removed, as has happened quite a few times in the past if you want to have a peek at the respective factions employee adjustment sections on the gov forums. Cops aren't some kind of mystical figures. They're regular players with the same status as any other player on the server. Cops can break rules, cops can also act out of what their faction ICly allows. It happens, but generalized complaining won't quite fix the issue. There's routes you can go. If rules are being broken, make a report. If things happen that shouldn't happen, make an Internal Affairs report. They do work and I can assure you both IC and OOC Internal Affairs reports get investigated properly and with great attention to detail. As harsh as it may sound, if someone acts out of line and stuff happens to you and you don't report it or try to actually do something about it in any other way, I personally think you don't have any right to publicly complain about this stuff.
  13. Congratulations on getting your drivers license my man!!!
  14. When the new trunk system was first implemented, the staff team went through the entire list of all vehicles that were in the game at the time and manually went through the list to see which trunks actually fit a ped in the anim that you do when you are placed inside a trunk. Unfortunately, just due to how the anim works and looks like, it's not really possible to have some trunks have space for the ped without it clipping through the outside, which was the requirement vehicles had to meet then, that's why some of the cars can't do it even if their trunk LOOKS big enough. That said, vehicles like the Astron weren't in the game yet when we did all this and the ped probably fits fine, it would be nice to go through the list of 'recently' added vehicles again to see which of them actually fits bodies inside.

    Chat Box

No thank you. What I would like though is some customization options for the chatbox, size, font size, the ability to have a background etc. That would help a lot, especially at resolutions larger than 1080p, where the chat gets relatively small.
  16. We recently tried out truck trailers and they didn't really work very well at all, even if the cultivator at the farming job now works for the most part. The sync on them is very hit and miss, unfortunately and it wouldn't be reasonable implementing them without a sizeable development effort to it. I'm not an expert on the matter, but from what I've seen trailer sync is not an easy feat to achieve in RageMP and I personally don't know of any english speaking RageMP server that has achieved this. Whether this is planned or not in the future; I don't know. That said, whether or not buying your own commercial truck is worth it or not is more of an in-character question and you should try to find some people that do use their own truck to ask about it. There is certain script advantages to it, for sure.
  17. hey man i really enjoyed rp'ing with you the other day!

  18. Date and time (provide timezone): Irrelevant Character name: Charlie_Wilkinson Issue/bug you are reporting: It is not possible to place the carjack down anywhere on the northern part of the map / north of the Alamo Sea. Expected behavior: You should be able to place it anywhere. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: It is not possible to place the carjack down anywhere north of red line drawn below. Anywhere south of the red line works completely fine. If you attempt to place the carjack down anywhere north of this line, you are presented with this error message: Vehicle license plate number*: Irrelevant
  19. I hope all went well with your application DCC is a fantastic faction that provides lots of roleplay!
