No to this because of the popping tires that would attract people from a distance.
-
Even if that was true and we stash large and stockpile (we don't), we'd find a way to adapt, it would bring us more RP if more people had to come to us more consistently.
-
Precisely that, it's been pretty heavily underlined in this thread that large stashes contribute to the PVP mentality..
-
Disagree it matters significantly. It just doesn't matter for people like yourself who has a huge stash and has done everything in your time in the server. Doesn't mean it doesn't matter for a majority of current players to be honest, otherwise this thread doesn't even appear.
-
This is the point though, "if I play for 2 months and quit for a month my guns shouldn't be gone" Well that means you adapt and buy only what you need, if you didn't have a stock you wouldn't be using much if you needed to go on an LOA. When you came back you'd be able to again contact your connections and get some more..
-
I don't necessarily agree with the suggestion you're responding to, but your response of "restricting people's freedom from doing things they like." is egging on the problem which is the things that those particular people like is the constant PVP lol
-
I mean it's not bad by any stretch there needs to be some PVP, but there are large batches of the player base that log in, will never not have a weapon in their possession, message all their friends on discord to hop on, roll labs and shoot/rob anything that breathes. Some of them will pretend they're here for more by hosting an event once every 6 months and then the second the event is over they're back to rolling labs, the PVP mentality is laughable in this server at times, there needs to be more support for players to do other things but it is a problem.
-
The problem with this is the PVP players find out about it and suddenly they have another reason to try and rob/shoot these players..
-
You're proving a point made on the asset based complaints, this is always what this "argument" boils down to.. "you don't lose anything we do" Respectfully nobody is forcing you to "lose your guns" you make the conscious choice to shoot cops or spend 90% of your time in labs shooting people giving more chance of cops responding, this is the consequence of that choice.

Okay well here are a few suggestions that come to mind for myself, as a long time criminal player and criminal faction leader; The biggest problem we have right now is mentality, no amount of script support nor additions to the criminal side of the server will change the mentality of some players where it's just as simple as, they prefer PVP over anything else, I believe that these players need to be more heavily scrutinised by staff, if you spend 90% of your time in the server "rolling labs" you're a major part of the problem. I understand this will require some script support but I strongly believe that adding more variety on how you can maintain your turfs will promote more RP, spend more time showing presence in your core turf, let it affect your turf influence, add small missions/jobs you can do for your dealers that doesn't just require cooking drugs and selling them to them (as this requires a lot of lab time and thus leads to the gunfighting being more prominent) or selling static items to them, give us some more variety in how we can affect the turf influence (the spraypaint was a good idea but doesn't make sense for ALL factions to be tagging a turf and it's still broken currently) The cartel should be actively trying to offer us more roleplay opportunities, like how they used to do the car thing back in the day, an expansion on that could be a good move to promote groups to work together to achieve things, a lot of this can be done without much to any script support, I like the idea of the cartel existing but I believe they're a bit too static and don't really provide massive amounts of support to factions besides meeting with you once in a blue moon and adding some things to imports once in a while. Much more could be achieved with a more involved cartel faction. @Chrisy made a suggestion a while back about guns decaying after 2 weeks, I believe this alone would solve 99% of the problems within the server for several reasons; firstly a lot of players have huge stashes and stockpiles, this in turn gives them no reason to "be good" with anyone or forge relations as they have whatever they need to fight as long as they'd like, boredom becomes PVP obsession because they already have so many guns etc why do they need to worry about it, secondly an expansion on the first point, if the guns decay it means players wont horde stash, they will constantly need to be in touch with groups/players who can provide them with a steady flow of weapons over time giving more player interaction and it would make the gun running market a more fluid and consistent state. Thirdly it would hurt a hell of a lot less to players if you get raided by cops, a massive thing we see a lot of complaints about, people being demotivated or leaving the server due to them losing a huge stash because of LEO raids. I'd suggest a buff in reward from things like civilian jobs, store robberies, bank robberies, all other forms of criminals making cash because currently cooking drugs is the absolute best way to make money in the least amount of time, and unfortunately even if we don't want it to be so, most criminals focus is assets and asset based mentality is unfortunately the culture of the criminal landscape, everything lately has been way to centralised around more labs more labs, and it's promoted the culture of being at labs is what you need to be doing as a criminal and thus creating the fighting constantly mentality that is prevalent in ECRP's current state. There are plenty more things that could be suggested these are some that spring to mind for myself.

Okay so this here is something I agree with, although the entirety of this thread there's things I disagree with, and the entire conception of being able to "win" against law enforcement which is frankly a farce. I believe that your aim as a criminal should be to escape, not wipe LEO's, that being said every side should use what's available to them in that moment, no pagers if LEO's are low on numbers that's just the way the game goes, neither side should be aloud to pager. This simply isn't true, I've seen video's of SD and PD SWAT/SED with a full green bar armour so ain't nobody gonna tell me cops don't have 200AP, however, I do believe that Swat and SED should have better armour as it just makes sense. To say that gangs have 200AP readily available isn't true as they're extremely limited and being changed to 150AP. I absolutely agree 100000000% with this statement, but to a certain extent, AP's should be limited to this, the weapon variety is kinda nice but there's too much server focus on "meta" weapons which is the real root of the problem imo. This is the truest statement of the lot, sadly that mentality is lost upon a large amount of the criminal player base although there's a handful of groups/players who still prioritise RP over PVP, it's definitely a larger group of players who prioritise PVP over RP and this stems from playtime, access to weaponry (massive stashes) and the general horde mentality of obtaining other people's weapons. Yes and it shouldn't be this way, yes of course cooking in a lab is and should be a dangerous thing to do, but the problem is the rotation and static nature of drug cooking and labs open at once just makes certain players "roll labs" which is just a direct result of PVP mentality, instead of creating RP, players are actively logging on and driving to the active labs HOPING to find someone to rob/shoot, this isn't RP whichever way anyone tries to sugarcoat it. Literally this right here, would fix all of the issues I've risen with my previous responses on this comment, the RP this would create would be massive, it would make the criminal RP become exactly what it should be, heavy roleplay orientated. The biggest issue in ECRP is the "clapper mentality" and the "winning/losing items mentality" some players, like even myself, couldn't care less about losing items as we have a stash that could sustain us for a long period of time, but on the flip side it creates a revolving door of the monster of PVP mentality, as some think "well I have a big stash so I can push who I want and fight for my fun because I have a lot and not a lot to lose." If guns decayed and disappeared after 2 weeks, it would fix the gun market making it much more RP based, more reason to form alliances and work with other groups on more consistent basis. Instead of the current model of, we can get our own shit and have huge stashes so we don't need to be good with anyone, or the "let's be good with gang X/Y/Z and get supplied from them for a while then turn on them when we have enough and we're bored". People will have way less upset over losing items which always seems to be what these threads roll around to "Oh I'm losing a 120k kit and cops lose nothing" etc etc, because you won't care as much, that same kit would've been gone in 2 weeks anyway, then you gotta once again interact with other groups, keep the door of business relations and connections revolving in a healthy and structured way. I've mained crim pretty much my entire time on ECRP, with stints here and there on alts in LEO factions, and I can tell you right now that Cops are reactionary and scale up what they have in line with what they're being hit with and I have 0 issues with the balance people seem to have such issues with and wanna complain about LEO factions but they're at a point they should be based on where we're at as a community, I wish people would play this server for what it is or what it could be, an epic roleplay server, but with the current obsession over assets, money and weapons, it's a light RP heavy deathmatching server at best. I hope to see that mentality shift but it's gonna take a major change like Chrisy's suggestion to make that happen.

What is the benefit of this suggestion, just out of curiosity? I do believe that it doesn't make much sense for anyone to pull a GPS out of a cruiser and it's instantly unable to be tracked but also see the more fun/less realistic side which is it's fun sometimes to steal a cruiser and take out the GPS. On the flip side, it's annoying if you're utilizing the GPS Zero day item and undercovers know they exist so take out their GPS. (I'd like to point out this is merely speculation, I've seen it done before and it's in no way an accusation to start bashing LEO's with) but at the same time it's good for undercover units to be able to not be found via that too.. Not saying I fully disagree with the suggestion but I'm struggling to see who the real benefit of this change would be for?

Agree completely! I remember the days the pier was popping, and cops would come down and do the whole parking ticket stuff, the masks off arrests, handing out citations, I know many people who stopped going for that alone and it became a problem of boredom and vibe killing, at the same time there were cops who'd come down and hang out too, but some took it way too seriously and pushed a lot of people away! Yes, the speed camera put the final nail in the coffin I fear, and then as you say, better paying alternative jobs.

This is crazy too, the fact there is more labs than there used to be enticing more players to labs, but the same amount of plants to go round isn't balanced out, drug prices are fine as they are, some even deserve a price raise to make them more worthwhile for example Meth and Herion which nobody makes because too many ingredients too much hassle.
-
True but there is so many players who roll for plants at all times of the day, there is rarely plants in most labs, increasing spawn locations would be a good idea imo.
