  1. Drug tables blow up no matter the temperature, the people that cook have a lot of money to lose when you consider the cost of tables, vents, supplies, hazmat suit, water, and whatever else they have. RV's were broken, and people I know still make bank mining ore without them. Those people with drags and apartments have put the time and effort into attaining those things, and many have been on the server a long time and were able to buy them before prices inflated. There are some jobs I feel should pay more, like the toll booth, farming (just a bit!), and the courier jobs. All in all I think the balance is better than it ever has been.
  2. -1 It's still possible to rob in public, you just have to RP it. I think alot of people fail to realize that we're supposed to be acting as if there are people around in these busy places. I remember how it used to be, and I was a part of it, hiding on top of roofs, back of clothing stores, etc, and I don't want to go back to that. I've executed people in clothing stores before, just for not shutting up. When I think back on that it strikes me as pretty bad roleplay. Sure, robbing is fun, and I'm not saying it should stop, but being able to run on foot around the city is a huge relief when I think about how it used to be. I wouldn't mind a day/night robbery type of system suggested earlier, where robbery rules were more lax at night, and it depended on the location. Clothing stores, gas stations, and other similar places should be off limits. However I can see issues arising with such a system, with people ruleplaying the time, how dark it actually is, and so forth.
  3. Great work guys, I'm really digging the thread!
  4. I could only imagine importing all the chems, one crate at a time.

    The Rooks

A Day In the Life of Johnnie Everdeen *BUZZ BUZZ* The harsh sound of his phone’s vibration against a near empty bottle startles Johnnie out of his sleep. The sun was peeking right into his eyes through a small slit in the window’s shade. Holding his hand up to block it, he sat up in his bed and groped to the left of him on the nightstand till he found his phone. After knocking an ashtray over and several fast food receipts, he finally grabbed it and examined his notifications. "16 new messages", the device shown in a dim blue light to him. He scrolled through to see anything important, but it was just the usual stuff… He felt a sharp pang in the front of his head as his brain processed through the messages. "Like, those fuckin' 8 A M bank notifications man", he cursed looking at the latest one. "How long was I asleep?" He wondered to himself as he willed his non responsive limbs out of bed. As he walked into his living room, he felt despair, because he had left some of his "manufacturing equipment" out! He sprinted across the room and peered through the shades. Rays of morning light glinted across the room. With trembling hands, he ensured that nobody was peeking in other than the morning sun. When he was satisfied that nobody was watching him, he took a few long steps to his table, and began to clean it. He swept the side of his hand across the paraphernalia littered table and filled a square paper with some leftover weed. Rolling it with one hand almost robotically while the other set various glass pieces in their proper places, Johnnie Everdeen finished putting away his “equipment” while simultaneously rolling “breakfast”. The couch let out a loud groan as Johnnie sat down on it to smoke his freshly rolled joint. He was licking his finger to stop the joint from burning too quickly on one side, when he heard the ring of something metal outside. Fear stuck him like a hard slap in the face, his hands darted into the couch cushions and searched frantically. “Like, holy fuck!” he wailed as his hands came up empty. Anybody outside would have heard a large thud as Johnnie’s body hit the floor, and anybody trying to peer in would see him pull two emptied bottles of vodka and silenced pistol from underneath his couch. After retrieving his weapon, Johnnie took a large (and very audible!) leap toward his front door. He clutched his weapon tightly in his sweaty hands. As he peeped out the window he saw an orange tabby cat lock eyes with him and scamper away. Relieved, Johnnie sunk against the wall and let his pistol hand relax. He sat down and began to disassemble and clean his gun. As he sat down, his hand rubbed his forehead because he had felt embarrassed at his paranoia these days. When he was finished, he set his weapon down on the counter and went into the bathroom. He washed his face, and examined himself in the mirror. Who was he going to be today? A homeless person? A pimp? A golfer? Maybe a weird goblin? “Whatever it takes not to be noticed…”, he said to himself. Not being able to look at himself, he punched the mirror and shattered the glass. Large callouses on his knuckles glinted with broken glass in the morning light. He was growing tired of being a “ghost”. The constant spying, secrecy, and subterfuge has been really taxing on his mental state. He often saw old friends of whom he could not talk to anymore, either out of fear of torture or contempt for what many of them had become. He had been getting so paranoid that even the smallest unexpected sounds made him jump. It’s not an easy life, but it’s worth it. He was on his way to go back to his room when the corner of a picture in a box next to his door caught his eye. He pulled it out and it was a group photo of Maynard,Mac and himself getting drunk at another wedding. A tear fell from his eye as he remembers running around town with Maynard, cutting loose, and causing drunk scenes at wherever event they were invited to with Mac in tow. Life was good before he and the others had to go underground for protection. He placed the photo back in the box and went back to deciding how he was going to blend in for the day. He was feeling nostalgic today, how about black?
  6. +1 Make prison great again! I feel like alot could be improved if mining was actually lucrative-ish. (either increase the value of stamps or increase the amount of stamps generated) Right now it's a waste of time in prison. Would give people more reason to use the poker tables.
  7. Yes officer, this ad right here.
  8. +1 "I’ve also heard from multiple people that competition over Laptop is a valid RP reason to declare war, but I find this to be extremely petty." Very true.
  9. History BusyBee Security owner, Dick Solomon, has been a quiet resident of the city for many years. He and his wife, Rebecca, lived a simple, but fruitful life in an apartment in South Los Santos. Rebecca was taken by cancer suddenly, and Dick was left alone for several years, with not many friends in town to console him. In an attempt to reconstruct his life and become a functioning member of society again, Dick joined the DCC in hopes of future camaraderie and new friendship. However, in his first week on the job, Dick was kidnapped. Dick was brutally beaten and held for ransom; it was a harrowing experience for him. After a car chase involving the whole police department where Dick was trapped inside of the trunk for hours, he was finally freed of his captors. Dick returned to the place where he was kidnapped, just a few blocks from the bank, and realized that if someone was just there to “Observe, and report”, he might not have been held captive for so long. Dick decided that he would start using his paychecks at DCC to start a new company with the sole purpose of keeping people safe. Origin of Operation BusyBee employees can mostly be seen at Central Medical and LSB, however our main office is in central Los Santos. Current Situation BusyBee Security is currently operating at most of the local hotspots, such as the bank and medical centers. They can be seen telling people to park correctly, telling them to take off their masks in a public place, and providing general assistance to civilians in need. BusyBee Security is very environmentally conscious, and employees are encouraged to recycle. The current number of employees is relatively small, and the main focus at the moment is recruitment. Uniform BusyBee Security employees can be seen wearing a black “cabbie hat”, yellow and black polo shirt, black slacks, and black running shoes with yellow laces. They carry around an ID card around their neck that displays their name, rank, and photo ID. Yellow Dilettante’s with tinted windows are the main vehicle security personnel use, although sometimes yellow Faggio’s are used for sidewalk patrol. Sometimes they may be seen with bags when picking up garbage and sorting recyclables Goals Obtain contracts from the government and wealthy private individuals. Hire at least 20 individuals to help out with day to day operations. Create and expand a company motor pool as the business grows. Create a noticeable difference in the amount of garbage cluttering the city with community events. Rules Members must have 5k xp or more Members must not have any felonies, violent misdemeanors, or gun charges. If members commit a violent crime, they are out of the faction. No OOC corruption. Must be dedicated to legal RP.
  10. Plus frickin' 1!
  11. I believe clarification is needed for the FearRP and DM rules. As of this moment, it is considered DM if you attack another player who has heard demands, but is in a running vehicle. Starting with the recent Jay Gamble DM appeal, ChuckM highlights and This is part of the reasoning he uses to punish Jay Gamble. It is clarified further by FatherOsborn later in the thread when he says: Further clarification can be seen in a later report by BaJezusTrip, where Dqniel says: The rule states: • If they are not in compliance with demands, attempt to escape, or call other players for help in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules. What is confusing is the rule states "or call other players for help in a situation they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules", that's an OR in that rule. Meaning you may attack if they are not in compliance with demands OR attempt to escape OR call any other players for help in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules. When most people read the rule they think you can attack if the victim doesn't follow orders, runs, or calls for backup when they are held up. I think a simple amendment, "If they are in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules, AND if they are not in compliance with demands, attempt to escape, or call other players for help ", would clarify things and keep the rule as it is now. However this does not fix the problem: I would like to pose a hypothetical situation. You are in a gang of criminals, you see a car moving to a drug selling location and begin to sell while inside of the car. You and your gang attempt to rob them, however since the car is running, you are not allowed to damage the car in any way. The party who is selling the drugs is at *no risk* because he is invulnerable to Robbery RP under the current rules. Even with the current rules in place, they are not being enforced properly. In this report the party was given demands by police, which was used as justification for DM'ing the reporting party. Lewis states the reason why the police were able to shoot him: However the reporting party was not under FearRP rules as he was in a running vehicle and was not eligible to be attacked. I don't mind the rules one way or another, however what I do mind is consistency and communication on the rules. I don't want this to be a "run and gun shoot 'em up gang gang" server, but at the moment there is no way for a criminal to stop a fleeing victim who is in a running vehicle, and that's a problem. I think the rules need to be updated so if a victim has received demands while stationary/very slow in a vehicle, or if he replies to demands as if he heard them (regardless of speed), the attacking party should be able to disable the vehicle. If the victim goes above 40km(debatable) with their windows up they cannot be attacked as they cannot hear demands.
  12. Increase rewards by 20% across the board for store robberies and drug manufacturing (50% for chop). As of right now with competition between police and other criminals makes most crimes slower than legit jobs, which doesn't make sense in a risk vs reward aspect. Or nerf civilian job payouts.
