As someone who has had a unique experience as criminal because I was not part of a gang for over a year and was able to be apart of any gangs activities on any given day. There are some things I've been able to witness that majorly contribute to the negative view of being a crim and how LEO view crims especially those who have never played or only played a few years ago. There is a lot of facets that have culminated into what we have now and the major issues. Yes, both sides are at fault. And any given day it swings one way more than the other. Both need to accept that the current views and attitudes need to change from the top levels down to the newest players. Crims are bored because there is no incentive for them to engage with leo or civs or even other criminal factions. When there is little to no conflict between gangs, then it's encouraged that they have beef. Then when the beef eventually squashes the morale of one, then fm steps in to stop the beef. If crims go to fight LEO, it's seen immediately as pvp mentality, and sometimes it absolutely is. But for certain gangs, such as OTF, it suits their lore as a street gang to fight LEO. Another major issue we have is being in a command position of a gang. Within a month or two, people get burnt out on being in command. There's no incentive for high or low command to teach new members how to maintain turfs, proper ordering, how drops work, how tags work, what gangs they have alliances or beefs with, what they should be doing to adhere to rp standards, etc. Then when high command gets burnt out, they stop coming around and the lower ranked members get mad and irritated that no one is around that should be their main source of support. Another complaint is the way that labs operate. Labs are the bane of most crims due to the variety of issues we run into with them. If you're new to the server, you're most likely to get shot, robbed, or killed. We're all hesitant of new people. The only way you can reasonably be in a lab cooking or chopping safely is if you're in a gang or a group of people who are willing to spend the time. Lewis adding in more tables helped immensely because now people are not waiting 4 or more hours for their gang cook. If you're chopping, you really only have Chiliad, Sealabs, or Dignity available to chop unless you have a private one, but with the current ways that LEO operate, no one wants to chance getting raided. Or even raided by another gang. There's places within the city that could easily be chop places but it's just too loud that pd immediately notices and sets up a raid. It'd be so much more likely that private chops would be used if chopping wasn't so loud and noticeable when taking down the parts, ie. Tool box, lift, etc. A major problem is that there's no real repercussions for gangs that basically "go against" the orders of Meridian or don't adhere to their lore. And it's a bit unfair for an entire gang to be held accountable for one member having a report or crash out and getting themselves banned. They could have invited a newer player who doesn't fully understand all the various ways the rules can apply and they get a forum report and now the whole gang is held liable and possibly has tier promotions withheld or other things. It seems like there is over punishment for small infractions while major infractions are swept under the rug. I would say the biggest complaint amongst gangs excluding our tier 8s, is the rewards for tiers. They are not clearly outlined, we're not consulted before being given a new weapon or other item. The high command of that gang getting promoted should be consulted and given options of what they would like for their new items. Ones that have lore backing. We should allow for other types of imports as well. BZ gas for gangs that are more terroristic/anarchist, special drug mats for the drug heavy gangs like LOCOS. Alt rp. My personal biggest gripe. We have the ability to submit for an idea for alt rp. But large scale usually gets turned down by LFM. Many gangs want to participate in large scale rp ops. Not just the simple "let's do a bank". Alt rp is so hard to get done that it becomes just a planned out event. It's not fun and spontaneous and getting different factions to interact with it naturally because they've known it was going to happen. Recently, Kudo Kai and Shadows planted MULTIPLE c4 bombs at Mission Row. Not just one simple one. But multiple around the building. After 15 minutes, no rp from LEO, an admin called "Gov" aka Denji to clean it up. And within half an hour of a full bombing, mission row was back to is pristine condition and we were given the excuse "They spent ages putting it back together". This is a flat out blatant slap in the face for any alt rp. Why would we want to give rp and participate in altrp when we are going to basically be backhanded once it's done. No rp from LEO looking for the people behind it, no rp in rebuilding MR. Not like they don't have Vinewood and Vespucci that they can use just as easily that would have provided new rp alternatives. But they didn't. Here is where my refusal to shoot pd gives me the advantage. I do not want to engage in a shoot out with pd. I do not see any point in it. They WILL win because even if they're all wiped, they treat it as XXX gang shot cops and now they're under suppression. NLR doesn't seem to apply evenly to LEO the way it does as a crim. The standards of rp are extremely imbalanced. Because 70% of PD and SD know that I refuse to shoot cops, I get interaction with them. I can be hand cuffed and running around and have Nacho chasing me saying "why are we running? I just had lunch!". He doesn't immediately pull out a tazer or gun and shoot me "just to get the scene over with". I have no idea how to fix it. Both sides have become reactionary. Crims immediately assume pd is going for the carbine, not their tazer, cause they probably are. And LEO automatically assume they're going to get lit up so they call 900 back up units to a traffic stop. Both sides are reacting to what has been happening. I don't know of a good way to stop it. There's so much I could point out with examples and details but it would require some harsher views that some aren't ready to hear. We are not believed when we submit an IA or RP Feedback. It's just seen as "crims whining again". So the bad LEO stay and make people want to quit, such as Alistair in pd currently. Where if we act the same as a crim, we get banned AND our faction gets punished. There's major favoritism among the admins and friends, as is to be expected. We're human. But when 80-85% of staff are all LEO main.... it becomes a problem. I'm not sure there is a good way to fix crim other than giving more room for altrp to happen where it won't just blow right back. We implemented a prison break system, until you realize, what's the point. The next time you get arrested you get charged with it and that time added on. We've become over realistic in ways that shouldn't be. We have too many higher up demanding realism at all times where it allows for no fun to happen. As a crim, we have two places we can work. Benny's and DCC unless we go through a reformation program. If we get caught for anything, we are immediately fired and can apply back in 2 weeks. While we're working there, we're taunted by LEO for just being there working. It's the views and attitudes of the server need to change. LEO who give rp, even if it's not *fully* realistic shouldn't be punished for it. Crims that provide different rp scenes or think outside the boxes, should be given the opportunity to continue that. We've constrained ourselves so much to the point that no one cares, they just assume they're going to get a punishment anyways no matter what they do.

As of last night, around 10 or more active members of the community were timed out between one day and one week while others were straight banned. Silencing dissent among the community will not exactly "help" stop the dissent but only grow it and make it even stronger. If the administration wants the dissent to stop, they need to listen to it and really understand where it is coming from. Many of the people, including myself, were timed out for a negative remark or comment about either the community state, the server state, or moderators/administration. Take note from communist regimes, silencing the opinions of others has never gone in favor of those performing the silencing. Many of us care deeply for the friends we have made and the relationships we have with those we have met and we want to see the server be in a healthy state. We voice our concerns because we don't want to lose what brought us all together in the first place. I cannot support a KGB style discord moderation and expect it to change for the better.

Radio Frequency Privacy or Privacy for Streamers
Larintai replied to Ve1ns's topic in Game Suggestions
+1. Don't stream personally but definitely worth it to promote ecrp. -
I'd just like to not see PD be able to /fl and regain full AP on their armor or change out weapons at their vehicles during shoot outs. Even though its not supposed to happen, it does. Theres been a lot of discussion amongst everyone after what has happened in the last week or two with two major gangs disappearing essentially. OTF and Offgrid. Offgrid left because of the way that gang suppression is allowed to be done, which is in my personal opinion, a little over the top. If you're still here for role play that is and not here for just cop simulator. A lot of people have been discussing leaving the server as a whole due to the way that PD and SD are allowed to pull out things repeatedly and hostage situations aren't really taken seriously. To be able to pull off a large scale RP situation requires so much more effort and usually admin support behind it. Let alone to get into the more interesting RP on the server can be emotionally taxing on some. It can get exhausting. As a crim main, I'd like to see a bit more...fun? out of LEO's. I try to make my stops entertaining, and some people are...dull at best. Like they can't be asked to even try to RP. Id like to see it a lil more balance between the amount of responding officers to a single back up. Obviously, if its a large scale shoot out, then thats a bit different. Such as the one this last week. But if its a bank robbery...why is the entire force showing up. The number of times I've been pulled over for speeding and had six cruisers on me for no reason. Its getting to the point that the RP is turning into revenge anger and not LEO v Crim. Something needs to be done or there won't be any crims left in the server.

DM, punishment alternative, instead of banning
Larintai replied to Ritchie Stones's topic in Rules Suggestions
Agreed. We need some alternatives other than just banning or admin jail. +1 -
Okay, well.... now to edit my previous response. There's still a few around. Found that out last night that. But at least there's still good men on this server who stand up the best they can for the girls. I've seen it both times now. And thankfully it's not a regular occurrence.

Its been a nice change, and people who are newer to the city or have come back once informed have reacted positively to being told. I've thankfully only ever had one interaction on the server where I was not asked and encountered it but that has been it and that was before the enforcement. Its definitely been a more positive change in my opinion.

I have to agree, but its usually new players who are still unsure of how the server works. I've seen someone tased, and when he got back up, it was slow moving for a bit until his nerves came back around. I don't think its realistic to be tasing someone who is in a vehicle unless the vehicle is at a dead stop, or as Demon stated, on a motorcycle.

These are people who were already hired, had been working just fine, then they end up getting fired because they are considered "Underage" because upper command finds out they are under 16. I agree that it could be straight they are not a good fit or whatever other reason. But I do think a general age SUGGESTION wouldn't hurt anyone. Because the server does contain a lot of things that aren't age appropriate. I agree, it is up to the parents of said child to be watching over them, and that kids these days are over exposed just through google. But it doesn't mean we need to be culpable in it either as a server.

I think its a little...hypocritical. Since factions such as PD, DOC and the like have actively and recently terminated people from their factions because they heard they were 15 or such. But yet, they have players everyone knows is younger, but they let them in even though their own rules state you must be 16 or older to work there. So if legal factions are setting age requirements which are all ran by admins mostly, then why can't there be an age requirement at least listed somewhere. Obviously as Kopi and others have stated, it would be more of an actual job than an RP server at that point, but I don't see why we can't at least have it within the rules that you SHOULD be at least 15 or whatever.
