  1. Really isn't the right attitude to have. Saying people should leave the server just for that is the wrong mindset.
  2. The issue is that some people don't realise how punishing it is until it's too late - and they're already screwed. There should be a way to remove it - even if its TOO punishing, like a very long prison sentence. So many people get a load of tickets, and then don't care cos they won't pay them - only to realise quite how punishing it is, then they regret it and want to drive properly. One of the main things I want from this - is effectively a way to RP'ly reset it. There are people who want to go back to driving properly but they'll never be able to afford their tickets, so they either see it as 'fuck it I'll just keep speeding' or they quit. The issue is that players often find out the problem too late, and then it's just that... too late.
  3. The issue is that people can't afford them... come on its not a hard concept.
  4. This is just as bad. It allows a new player to speed with no punishment, putting it in their head that it doesn't matter - only to find that afterwards they are hit even worse than they would be now. Very bad idea.
  5. This does not indicate to a new player the lengths that this runs. The way that there is no way to clear these tickets. So many people have assumed that going to prison removes these tickets because it is common practice on servers and how it works irl
  6. The problem is that a lot of new players don't really know what they're doing. Most if not all the people I spoke to did not realise how overly punishing these tickets are, and therefore are now in a position where they are by far kneecapped. This is causing people to leave the server.
  7. I would argue this is not good enough. It's rather easy to get beyond 5k tickets and does not have any effect whatsoever on how much money someone may have or whether they could ever afford it.
  8. I agree. Not only are they richer because of their time on the server, but they also didn't have to deal with this 'money sink' previously.
  9. We aren't asking to remove them. The issue is that there are plenty of new players that can't afford them and it causes large issues for their gameplay. I agree that the tickets are a deterrent to speeding - but large prison sentences would be too.
  10. It wouldn't be just logging off and going to sleep - it would be an IC prison sentence, and a longer one the more tickets you're removing. So even if you log off - you'd log back in and keep working at your sentence.
  11. I'm not sure whether this is even possible, but my chat is just a little small for my liking with a 4k monitor. If possible, could we get a /chatsize command where we can make it bigger / small than default as we like?
  12. I agree. It shouldn't be used as an easy way to remove all your tickets - but there should be some form of paying back your debt, be it jail time or menial jobs.
  13. I have the exact same issue and has resulted in many tickets. Please fix this.
  14. Now at first glance, you may think that this is a really bad idea, but let me explain what I mean. I am not referring to some illegal way to remove tickets without being punished. I have met multiple people quit the server because they have too many tickets that they will never be able to pay off. Don't get me wrong, I don't want the cameras removed. I wouldn't say no to the ticket being cheaper, but that's not what I am referring to. Players are racking up such a large amount of tickets, that they just keep getting them. They get to the point that once you have 10k that you're not going to pay, you may as well have 100k, then 200k and so on. I understand these cameras were implemented because people were driving too stupid, but when people get so many tickets that they cannot remove, they still drive stupidly fast everywhere because if they're not gonna pay the tickets, they're not gonna care. People are going to prison for not paying tickets, but they still can't afford them when they get out, so they end up going back to prison - it's a vicious cycle and something needs to be done. My suggestion would be that you go to prison for your expired tickets just as you do now, but your time in prison is increased for the amount of tickets you have. There would need to be a limit to stop people being in prison for a stupid amount of time, but it should be a rather high limit to still give a sense of real punishment to those speeding too much. Then, once you get out of prison your tickets are gone. This way you have still paid the price for speeding but you're not completely kneecapped for the rest of your time on the server. There should be a way to pay back your debt to society by prison or maybe some community service - such as a dumpster job that doesn't pay you, but instead writes off tickets. I will note that this is the same as it works in real life. A person will go to prison if they cannot pay their fines but their fines would be written off. It is just a shame to see people quitting the server because they are so kneecapped by these tickets. The cameras need to stay though, whether the price changes is up for debate.
  15. Today, admins were destroying vehicles that were parked around the bank without a parking ticket. This, as I understand, was done to reduce lag by all the vehicles being around - especially when they aren't paying for the vehicles to be there. Removing them is fair. Whilst I would argue that this is an IC issue, and the admins should grab a cop to go do it - I also understand that actions were needed. This is where my suggestions come: Make a /adminimpound command or whatever - where instead of admins having to destroy cars, they send them to impound. None of these players broke OOC rules by parking there, they broke IC law by not paying for a ticket. Putting them in impound would be more roleplay by far. Not to mention that expensive cars now need to pay a lot of money to get it out of Mors. Another issue, is that whilst they should have paid for it, players are now going to report their car being destroyed, because it was parked in an NCZ, and therefore it should not have been stolen, chopped or destroyed. They will log on assuming someone has broken rules and taken their car - which just makes people think that there are even more rulebreakers on the server than there are. Putting these vehicles in impound is not only immediately more roleplay - when players log in, they won't see it as someone has broken rules to get their car, and that they have just been towed as they deserve to be. I will just say, my vehicles weren't affected by this, mine weren't destroyed, so I am not angry, this is just a genuine suggestion. Thanks!
  16. +1. I have no idea why this hasn't been addressed yet, maybe there's some issue where it's not possible? It is not reasonable or roleplay to throw away a whole gun because you ran out of tiny bullets. At the very least you should be able to sell your gun back to a gun store for nearly the price of the gun.
  17. +1. Makes it easier to actually see what speed I'm going without taking my eyes completely off the road. Not sure whether it's cos I'm in 4k which makes it worse but it's pretty small. I don't want to agree with Daniel though cos he's a pleb.
  18. So I don't know if it just happened to me, but a few of my friends have experienced the same, so I'm gonna assume it's always. Basically if you have your prison sentence reduced IC'ly, you get released and then put back to prison by an admin. My issue however is that when you're in the DOC prison, there's RP, interactions and it's genuinely fun - however upon being reduced and put back to jail, I was instead put in the PD cells where you're on your own, no cops or real interaction with everyone. I would rather have to spend double the amount of time in jail and have fun than reduce it and be stuck on my own bored out of my brain. There's always a chance that the staff member just used the wrong command for me and my friends in the past, but if not it would be great if they could have a command which lets them put you in DOC prison.
  19. Yes exactly, thank you. That's what I currently do but with the ability to abuse a script comes the need for admin intervention. Luckily I don't carry around much of my stuff in my vehicles. Thanks for your input
  20. So I haven't had a direct issue with this myself, however it is one that I see happening. If you unlock your car, say if you're kindly giving someone a ride somewhere or something - they instantly have access to take shit out of your vehicle inventory. Whilst I understand that there is the taxi service and so on - this will cause nobody with anything in their car to give anyone a ride, or risk anyone in their car for any reason unless they trust them. This is something that I feel may hurt the server in minor ways. Being able to lock and unlock your vehicle inventory separately should be made available. This could be used as a /vehicletrunk command - this is also more RP friendly anyway.
  21. Whilst this may be the case I feel this is somewhat irrelevant. This guy knew his price was $1400 and it was always 1400. It never reset to 550 or went lower. He knew what he was doing.
  22. The guy is actually there now doing it and not being honest with the prices.
  23. Interesting because literally loads of people were asking for the couple of hours he was sitting there - and not once did he tell the truth about the cost. Either you're his friend and lying, or maybe he changed his tactics as if he tells the truth nobody buys it. You're also missing the point of what's going on. 14 wasn't the only price he gave, he also said $100, $400 and so on. The issue is partly that there is no way to confirm or even check the price. What if he set it to 10k?
  24. I understand that. I'm not saying he's right. It is my full opinion that he is wrong. Doesn't mean he shouldn't be staff. Anyway lets not get off track - lets change this taco shite
  25. Lets not keep the questioning of support staff's opinions. If this is indeed not currently against rules, then he is just following and agreeing how it is now. Doesn't mean he doesn't work hard or that he doesn't do his job. He just has a different opinion.
