Bodhi Posted September 4, 2020 Report Posted September 4, 2020 This is just a small suggestion which I think would just improve the overall realism of being able to use the glovebox more efficiently. Many a times I have noticed that while giving a ride to players, they would, for some reason, check the glovebox of the car. Now consider how unrealistic it would be for anyone to just randomly open the glovebox and take a peek while hitching a ride, this small thing leads to NRP when a player takes out something without rping or asking about it. I would like to suggest an option for the players to be able to lock the glovebox with a command like '/lockbox' or '/glovebox' to simply make the glovebox inventory inaccessible to anyone other than the person who owns the car. Retyping that same command would be able to unlock the glovebox and retrieve things from it. This is just a very tiny detail I feel that would really make rping with vehicles just a tad bit more interesting. 2 Quote
Xoza Posted September 17, 2020 Report Posted September 17, 2020 The 'glovebox' as you state is the entire interior of the vehicle. It's not specified where in the vehicle this storage location is. While it makes the most sense that it would be the glovebox, it is only simply 'the interior'. I do support though, the interior storage being locked, while the vehicle is locked. 2 Quote
Illmohim Posted September 17, 2020 Report Posted September 17, 2020 +1. there are many suggestion regarding to wiring cars and what not, but if there is a way to picklock a glove box, so if the owner were to lock it we can get picklocks to go through the "glove box" to access the inventory. 1 Quote
PickNic Posted September 28, 2020 Report Posted September 28, 2020 +1 I believe this would further implement roleplay aspects as a glovebox could in fact be locked, they could add if you lockpick while inside of the vehicle it would try to unlock the glovebox. 1 Quote
HaNd Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 I think this would help with the gun crime situation +1 Quote
Night Posted December 5, 2024 Report Posted December 5, 2024 +1 anything that makes it a little more challenging for everything to be robbed from a vehicle. Lockpicking a trunk and getting items makes sense cause there's only one barrier to get to a trunk OOCly. But interior storages can be locked separately from the door locks. Quote
Quietthecutie Posted December 12, 2024 Report Posted December 12, 2024 -1 as stated the "glovebox" just means the entirety of free space within the interior of the vehicle. no ones cramming an AK into a glovebox. its poorly worded in the UI so maybe that could use a look? the /ames could change to "reaches around the interior of the vehicle" to reflect this instead of "opens and closes the glovebox" There was a suggestion not too long ago about adjusting glovebox size based on the type of car. larger vehicles getting more interior space to store things in. honestly i would be more down for that.
