Crime is just too easy to do

You literally just buy a knife and go up to a gullible person. Bam! Money.

You literally buy a bobby pin and go up to a supercar. Bam! Money.

And the list goes on and on.

I think that if you want to be a criminal, it should really affect you. In real life, people are scared to be criminals. Here its almost becoming cops and robbers. I feel that we need to encourage civilian jobs. I would do this by pushing more official legal factions

I get your point but it really isn't as easy as you think it is. With the news rules it not as easy to rob someone anymore and a knife is not the hardest thing to avoid getting robbed with. Also, super cars are not easy to find and even if you do try and bobby pin it, Its not guaranteed you're gonna get it first try and without the owner coming or calling the cops once he gets a notification. Most the time, the risk outweighs the rewards for criminals and it is becoming harder and harder to make money as a criminal.

My main issue is just how ridiculously high the crime rate is. It doesnt realistically make sense for the crime rate to be this high, its not like we are living in Gotham. For one, most people are involved in Criminal Work. Its too hard to find good Civilian work and at many times there are too many things going on for the cops to be able to handle this. In real life, you only walk past 16 murderers in your entire life, and that is in a place with an average crime rate. Los Santos is extremely urbanized and should most realistically have lower crime rate.

My main issue is that almost everyone I walk past is a criminal or a new player trying to become a criminal.

You got to remember that this is a game as well. The server would be incredibly boring if there was barely any crime. Yes I agree crime is high but that is because that is what people want to do.

I think people want to get into crime because new players are more used to regular GTA V, maybe if brand new players were barred for sometime (apps closed) and all the new players ck'ed etc and all that, the crime rate would significantly improve after most players reconsidered paths. After which, new players would be accepted

Yeah, what i said is definitely too drastic lmao

The thing is, sure you can get 5k from chopping a car quick, or maybe 1-2k from robbing a person with a knife on the street if you're lucky.

5k however is such an obsolete amount of money on this server that you would have to do this for literal weeks to become financially secure if you're committing petty crime, and the police WILL catch up to you eventually, and you WILL lose more money than you've made after prison, fines, etc. The risk vs reward is not there which in itself is a deterrent to most players.

Maybe this should be handled IC'ly by the police. Im sure that by noww the police know the turfs of all the major gangs, maybe they should crack down on all the dealers

Literally nobody wants less crime rate. Not even PD/SD, wihout crime, they are bored. This isnt supposed to exactly mirror real life, thats impossible. Sure its RP, but its still supposed to be fun and enjoyable.

Nope mate this aint as easy as it sounds heres why first of all some gangs camp chop and now the sheriff are always around chop for no reason which makes it much harder to chop cars now.

I mean the server jail times are pretty long enough to make make people think twice before they do a crime.

IF criminals actually followed the server rules crime would not be that high, especially with the new rules that were put in place. I think it'll get better.

I can agree to this, the server needs criminals for it to be alive. Yes, it sucks to be the victim, but if you adapt, you stop getting robbed.

And it is not easy to be a criminal, yes you can steal a car, and yes you might not get caught this time. But next time LEOs will catch you, next time another gang will catch you. There are a lot of risks that criminals have to take into account, and while holding someone up or stealing their car is easy, turning that into money is hard.
