kenichis Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 Hey everyone, we all know at this point that if you want to make easy money doing criminal things a bike is the way to go. You can outrun literally any law enforcement, weave into places cars can't, continue handling when in the air unlike cars (CTRL and Shift disabled for cars in the air). However, to balance this, bikes realistically offer lesser protection that cars. Being in the form that: 1. Bikes place you under fear RP if you are static. 2. Bikes are easier to get knocked off, especially unintentionally. Where as cars can always just restart their engines. That being said, I believe that these things are not enough to balance bikes. Seeing how a BF400 costs less than 50K maxed while cars that can achieve its top speed costs around 200K. My suggestion is that being shot while on a bike should place you into ragdoll mode and drop you off the bike, similar as to how NPC's behave in GTA Story Mode when shot while on a bike. Why should this be implemented? Realistically, if you are shot on a bike, especially while not expecting it the shock from the pain should momentarily flinch you from handling the bike properly. I believe that the Story Mode NPC's realistically represent this the best. Secondly, this is as a means to balance out Drags that while already restricted, is still quite numerous in numbers and is still one of the easiest vehicles to make an escape on. With the new changes to the DM rules giving you a chance to shoot at escaping victims if they realistically heard the demands should make the chase of bikes more interesting. Instead of being able to withstand up to 5 gunshots while going high speeds on a bike that I would say is extremely unrealistic. Thirdly, this should make players value their life even more. The reason Fear RP is put into effect on bikes is that they offer no realistic protection from bullets. However, if you are moving this can easily be disregarded. While this mechanic doesn't put you directly into Fear RP, players have to put into account how the bike ACTUALLY doesn't protect you from bullets. Should you get shot once going high speeds, its game over. People should either surrender to avoid death, or go slower than usual so when they do get knocked off they don't die. Just my suggestion, feel free to leave thoughts.
Aldari Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 +1 I like the idea, though I think it should be a chance to be ragdolled, not a guarantee. Each bullet impact comes with a certain chance of ragdolling you off the bike. Perhaps the more you're shot the more likely you are to come off.

I feel like it's going to turn into the same thing as engine stalls. Sometimes all it takes is one bullet for the engine to go, and other times you'll have 15 cops shooting carbines and it doesn't stall. It's a bit too much RNG into an otherwise skill-based combat system.
kenichis Posted January 6, 2020 Author Report Posted January 6, 2020 Maybe after 2 shots you ragdoll off a bike, just so people don't get one shotted with a lucky hit. Also, kevlar should mitigate this. As long as you have armor you shouldn't get ragdolled. Since most likely the bullet doesn't penetrate your body only a "punch." So while painfull, I doubt someone trained would instantly lose control of a bike. Secondly, this is also to buff kevlar because as of now it doesn't seem worth it to use as a criminal.
Xoza Posted January 8, 2020 Report Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) +1 Would this just be an *auto dismount [F]* kind of affect? Add a chance to it. Edited January 8, 2020 by Xoza
