Korab_Bagadovic
There are some staff members that are in gangs who are in charge of handling reports and punishment appeals. My suggestion is to block them out from from having the right to decide a players faith by simply not allowing them to reply or make a decision on a report or an appeal where the person who is included in the report or appeal is in the staff members gang. I know staff and other players will say that this is a useless addition just because they keep an eye out and the reports usually get reviewed by higher ups, but you can never be too safe. This would combat any favoritism regarding reports and appeals.
Aldarine
Staff members are in their positions not because they are just any regular member of the community - especially moderator+ who handle reports and then the higher administation team that deals with punishment appeals. These are members of the community who put players and rules first and want to ensure a positive and rewarding roleplay environment for all. Fellow members of the staff team are amongst the kindest people I have met in this community and consistently put their best foot forward on a daily basis to be as unbiased as possible. There are staff members who actively avoid accepting reports from members of their own faction, however, there are times when they are the only staff available. Should we really expect players to suffer because a member of the staff team chose to be a part of a specific faction? Absolutely not. This goes for all factions, not just illegal ones. Staff are given their roles because higher ups believe they can take a step back, enforce rules, and most of all be fair. Should fairness ever be called into question there is a proper appeal process where all punishments are reviewed by outside parties that are not involved in the matter at all. Even with normal player reports, staff do a wonderful job of discussing amongst other staff members to ensure a proper decision is made. Have faith in the staff that run this community and again, if any decision is ever questioned, follow the proper chain of command to have it reviewed. We, as staff, are here to support all players, and we do our best. Remember... we are also simply human as well. Osborn
Hello, thank you for your suggestion. We have since the creation of this suggestion strengthened our conflict of interest policy and situations involving persons whom staff members may have a conflict of interest with should be handled by another staff member, unless of course it's an emergency and/or there are no other staff members available at the time, or that they're a senior member of the Staff Team (Administrators). This has and will not be an issue, but you can always reach out to a member of Senior Staff if you have concerns about a Staff Member and a potential conflict of interest. - Osborn.
