When they put in speakers I thought I could take this time to private DJ my own house and parties with a shoutcast stream that I pay for every month (I have since college, a little passion project).... but Nobody has it locked to just internet radio which is so short sighted. Shoutcast stream could be piped through a single IP so it isnt dangerous, it could also be applied for white list, but right now none of that exists... so imo speakers are little improvement over the ambient stuff all over the game. I hope we get some system in the future for using private shoutcast.... he could even pay for a few and we could donate credits for them an he could make profit on them and also control the viewing of the dashboard so it would be safe AF.... some of us just want music :< Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DGanja Posted June 21, 2019 Report Share Posted June 21, 2019 We make songs in relation to our gang and we'd love the ability to play our music at a party or whatever else through the speakers. But anytime I've asked it's always "it's to prevent porn from being played" great idea in theory just a shame you can't really immerse yourself and feels limiting. isBrainDed Posted June 21, 2019 Report Share Posted June 21, 2019 When the speakers were added, I spinned up my server and set up an instance of management panel for radio, where I could create new instances of radio on demand. My intention was that I would create 4 or so radios for Eclipse RP community and give it out to any potential business owners ( night clubs and such ), so they could make their own playlists with it. The issue is I pay 2 dollars a month for a 1000 listener unlimited bandwidth server, and they want 30 dollars for 500 gig 500 listener on internet-radio, and I am forced to host through internet radio? Its just a garbage host and I already have a radio station that I have been hosting for ages... it seems like a lot of trouble to limit us to internet-radio as a company for hosting...
