Jack Falken Posted July 16, 2025 Report Posted July 16, 2025 Hello, as someone who plays semi regularly on ECRP (every day we all know I'm addicted) I've talked to a lot of people ICly and OOCly on issue's surrounding the Skill Level system and I wanted to put in a suggestion that I think would even the playing field and would address one of the main issue's most people have brought up with the leveling system. The main issue a lot of people have with the Levels System for criminal activities and freelance activities (I would love to see a mechanic, police and medical systems be added and incorporated in such repairing faster as a mechanic or getting paid commission at certain levels like 5% at lvl 10, 10% at lvl 25, 15% at level 50, 20% at lvl 75, and 30% at lvl 90 but that's for another suggestion). Is that people have been around for years cooking and doing house robberies and now have nothing to show for it as everyone got slapped back to level 0. When online in ECRP you can hit your grave accent key ~ key to see everyone on the servers accumulated exp gained for doing jobs and cooking etc. from other the years. My suggestion is to allow people to spend that exp as a currency on a 2/1 basis for every 2 exp earned over the years they get 1 redeemable exp to use on any skills. Me having 1.2 million exp over the past 2 years would be able to then go into the Umenu, View Levels, and see that I have a 2/1 : 600,000 exp to spend across 20-25 skills once they are all redone and be able to go into any skill and redeem that exp. This would allow people to pick and choose how to translate their years of experience in the city into different skills in a non-overpowered way either becoming masters of a few skills and nothing in the rest or spending it equally on some skills and specializing in some other stuff. As a mechanic for 2 years in the city I would spend 100k points to max out my mechanic skill level (If it was added) as I've had the top rank at almost all three shops and so canonically it would make sense while being able to get a head start on some things I haven't maybe tried out before opening up a whole new way of experiencing the many skills the state has to offer. Bought exp levels would apply to only that character and not all characters so people with alts can't just max all criminal skills and have it across the board and any exp bought through this method just like the bitcoin levels shouldn't show up on the scoreboard. Only actually earned exp and this would allow people to turn years of actual experience in the server into tangible skills allowing for retroactive leveling with a far higher ease of access compared to what some others have suggested such as the devs just figuring out how much people have cooked since tables were removed etc. and retroactively adding levels till now moving this from a dev issue to a player action. Just my two cents on how the devs could retroactively turn peoples time over the years into experience in the new levels system allowing people to gain the skill levels they feel they deserve for their past time and effort spent in the city! If you have any suggestions put it below or a +1 would be awesome see if we can gain traction on this. 7 1 Quote
CalvinKlein Posted July 17, 2025 Report Posted July 17, 2025 I am 100000% in favor of this, one of the best suggestions as of recently, that have to do with criticism points regarding the last update, which made things more "Grindy" Quote
Earl Mud Posted July 17, 2025 Report Posted July 17, 2025 Big +1. It would be balanced this way and wouldn't make all crims feel like they are starting over. Quote
k0ma Posted July 18, 2025 Report Posted July 18, 2025 I get that it might seem 'fair' for the OG crims, but I don't think there was an XP system for cooking? So how would they even track who spent how much time cooking? And if you're talking about the general XP you get just by playing, that would also reward people who maybe weren't really grinding — which feels a bit unfair. Honestly, I think starting everyone at 0 was fair and actually gave newer players more of a reason to give crim a shot. Plus, a lot of the players who were cooking nonstop are already stacked with cash, so I’m not sure they really need that extra head start. Quote
Demonmit1 Posted July 18, 2025 Report Posted July 18, 2025 -1 I disagree. It's a new system, and there's a leaderboard. Everyone starting from 0 keeps it so this is the one system that newer players on the server are not at a total disadvantage to people who have been playing for years, and that makes for a healthy game server. Why only complain about cooking? Buying xp complaints didn't happen when the xp system was first introduced with trucking. People who have been here for years are gonna still grind it out and progress through faster than your average player. 1 Quote

Is that not enough reward, they need more given to them? 1 Quote
