ThcsPerSecond Posted June 23, 2024 Report Posted June 23, 2024 Hear me out As we know now of the NLR system and the bleed out system once the timer is up you NLR after you have been downed What i am suggesting is a change to it once you have been downed you are then hit with a 5-10 minute timer once that timer is up you should then be met with the option to respawn (NLR) or keep waiting for help This would also help for when medic's aren't around and just have PD/SD roaming and allowing them to help if they are busy at the time when no MD is around I feel this would be HUGE to add it force's you to have to rp finishing someone off instead of walking up to them putting 3-4 bullets randomly into their body (Questions i feel some would have) 1. What if you RP killing someone and someone finds them while they are waiting out there timer once im long gone? Answer: I think it would be fairly simple to simply not respond with text/voip and for example do a /do would be shot in the head would have no pulse. Or depending on where the body is its up to you to RP'ly hid the body well enough so it does not get found by anyone (therefore allowing them to be saved therefore keeping the RP going) allowing them to be saved if its within the time This could be a huge change just all around melee weapons can go back to normal damage again since you cant instant NLR anyone Anyways thats all from me let know what you guys think Quote
inorigj Posted June 23, 2024 Report Posted June 23, 2024 I spoke with osvaldon on this topic a few months ago. and he brought up something very important. lets say you're in a shootout. What's stopping players from using MG'ing enemy locations from the ground? unless you still add the function to finish them off and force respawn them. This would be horribly abused. and yeah, I brought this up after having watched james randal my self Quote
Quietthecutie Posted June 27, 2024 Report Posted June 27, 2024 Aside from the very good point inorigj makes, I believe it would be fundamentally wrong for a player who has been downed to have any kind of control of how and when they die, particularly in a shootout. its already kind of nuts that you can call an ambulance on your own. As for the RP aspect of finishing someone off, i believe 3-4 bullets to the brain is perfectly adequate RP, its difficult to misinterpret that and having someone copy paste spam "/me finishes the guy off" isnt going to do anything more than make it more tedious. Borrelli Posted July 9, 2024 Report Posted July 9, 2024 (edited) We had this on the SAMP server I played, you had a ~5 minute timer before you could /acceptdeath. If someone shot you while in this state you were forced to hospital. You could not /acceptdeath if someone was RPing with you (server rule, not scriptly enforced). The only issue was that you had allies "mercy-killing" each other so they did not get arrested, etc. however this was enforceable through rules and wasn't all that common. ThcsPerSecond Posted July 9, 2024 Author Report Posted July 9, 2024 Thats where i was going maybe a 5 minute timer then you can respawn at pillbox as in NLR or you can still be finished i mean that could work right?? Quote
Woot_beerfloat Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 Perhaps two different "downed" states? So if you injured somebody you'd drop like normal, then if they finished you, some sort of text came up, blubbering audio and foggy video. With the understanding that once your in the 2nd state, your pretty much unconscious and unable to respond with voip and only be able to /do your injuries and if that state is reached you basically have no idea what happened with the who what or why Quote
