  1. Date and time (provide timezone): 20/Jan/24 - 21:28 (UTC) Character name: Scott Dunbar & Victor Einhart Issue/bug you are reporting: LSPD Vehicle Management UI shows the vehicle we are modifying as being incredibly blurred. Expected behavior: The vehicle should not be as blurred. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Just go to the LSPD spawn points/locker room (and maybe other factions), open the Management UI from there then select vehicles and try to create a new vehicle modification/edit an existing modification. Image: Vehicle license plate number*: N/A
  2. I'm curious what you expect, if we get a shots fired call, we're not going to arrive on scene and then unrack the weapon for you to witness it (assuming your viewpoint is that of someone who caused the shots fired call). We pull to the side of the road and unrack the weapon before responding to the scene, otherwise we'd roll up and get gunned down while RPing. Policy regarding heavy weapons on bikes only applies to the MARY unit (police bike) and not to BF400/Shinobis. That said, from all the pursuits I have participated in over the last few months I cannot remember a BF400/Shinobi having a heavy deployed unless the rider is METRO and they are not "patrolling", they are actively handling an on-going situation. If you have evidence of people riding the police bike with heavy weapons on their back or someone just meme'ing around on a BF400/Shinobi with no general aim then feel free to send it to me, otherwise I'm just going to have to treat what you are saying as hearsay. Onto the topic at hand, all LSPD members are required to roleplay retrieving their weapons from the armory at the beginning of the shift, then racking them inside their vehicle as they start their patrol. Any time they then wish to use their weapon they are required to roleplay unracking if from the gun rack inside the vehicle. This in itself serves as a timer. Personally I dispise timers so adding more is something I will always be against unless it is an action which occurs rarely and actually needs a timer to provide some sort of balance, e.g. drilling into a bank (an existing example).
  3. Your example of a charge which PD pushes and SD does not is "Felony Public Endangerment", this charge is by no means covered by SD's charging policy as a "Petty" charge given it is a Felony. SD's policy requires its members to drop petty misdemanours which spawn as a result of the initial charge, for example if someone were to evade and then resist arrest when captured they would loose the resisting arrest charge. If however they drove in a manner so dangeours to the general public that felony public endangerment should be placed (there is a IC court ruling regarding what constitutes felony public endangerment), then dropping the Felony Public Endangerment charge is OOC corruption. This said looking over the recent charges placed by PD for Felony Public Endangerment, in the last week it has been placed 16 times, while Evading an Officer has been charged 106 times in the same period. So if 15% of the time is constant then sure, I guess its used constantly, we'll just disregard that every single arrest report which included Felony Public Endangerment clearly outlines that the individual was swerving between lanes, break checking, driving consitently on sidewalks and swerving towards civilian and police vehicles while being pursused. My preferred approach would be not to drop any charges or times for charges, but instead offer the ability to properly plead guilty/not guilty to charges (SD's current process for this is not binding in any way and the change would need script support regardless). If you plead guilty you get X% reduction in time, that way PD get to place the correct charges and criminals have an option to reduce their time. It would also limit the cases headed JBs way giving them more opportunity to properly RP them instead of having to rush them as there are 10s of other cases in the backlog pending a hearing/decision.
  4. Numerous posts on this thread tie the issue to win mentality, while that may not be the intent of your topic, the thread is not exclusively for your opinions and as such I responded to these opinions in addition to your own. Multiple people have pointed out the issues with your suggestion so I didn't feel it needed to be addressed again, that said..... PD vs a Gang does not equal Gang vs Gang. PD are fighting crime, not specific individuals, now if your actions draw attention to your organisation through your crimes then you are going to get the attention of PD who will attempt to combat this. PD have to build casefiles over months in order to do this sort of thing whereas gangs simply just need to have "beef" for a few days which then results in the scenarios you are describing which result in FM enforcing some sort of NLR on all members of the gangs involved. Do not try and claim that this "beef" is in any way equivelent to the effort that members of the LSPD and LSSD's investigative divisions put in.
  5. Please enlighten me on your lengthy experience as RPing a LEO and also what tactics you have used to try and get around the suppression ICly? My opinion is the opinion on the other side of the argument, claiming that my opinion is somehow invalid because it doesn't match yours simply illustrates that this argument will go nowhere and is not worth anyones time.
  6. Looking at the suppression approved by Judicial it was multiple counts of murder, felony evading, armed robbery, use of heavy weaponry, drive-by, etc, etc. Or did your gang not do any of those things?
  7. So, let me get this straight, cops having a "win" mentality is the root of all evils? Does this mentality not also exist among gang members? If not, why do we have 10+ gang members robbing a convenience store with heavy weapons, surely if there was no caring about "winning" then a couple of them could just go with a pistol each and accept whatever RP happens? Ultimately PD's current actions are a response to what gangs, such as Division Six, have been doing - if you want it to stop you need to become smart and stop being so blatant in your actions, escalation is not something you will win. It's a shame that some of your members are feeling like they do not want to play, however the same can be said for PD members with regards to members of PD following interactions with Division Six members, the numerous large-scale shootouts over a felony evading charge which turn into 5+ murder of a government employee have really got tiring. We've had multiple members put in LOAs due to these situations, so if you want us to feel sorry for them it's not going to happen, we've been feeling the same way for the past month or so over this stuff. In relation to the simple topic of suppression checks, these are approved by people outside of PD and require more than just our word that something happened, no one is getting pulled over while going at 80km/h for a suppression check without there first being evidence that they are affiliated with a gang being suppressed - if you're trying to claim that you are, you're either lying or you've forgotten some interaction you've had which has resulted in you being labelled as affiliated with a suppressed gang. That said you're more than welcome to pursue IC avenues if you feel that PD's actions could be considered IC harassment.
  8. The fact that four+ people ambushed him to me seems like him being deployed is more than justified? I see no new player in the clip you provided?
  9. IRL police have cars which are fast enough to pursue the cars they typically pursue, if everyone drove Warreners then we would have cars which topped out slightly above a Warrener. The fact is the average car used to evade from cops on the server is a hell of a lot faster than a Warrener, as such we have faster vehicles to account for this.
  10. If criminals had this rule, PD would do the same. Currently if we pursue known gang members we have to bring all our units as these situations typically end in an ambush with 20+ gang members. You can see what I'm talking about here: https://streamable.com/pg6zan At most they were being pursued by 8 Officers total. (Just to clarify, I am not saying that the ambush is a rulebreak or anything, I am simply pointing out that at this time PD using 'excessive units' cannot be helped, with a limitation on the number of gang members involved in a situation, we can limit the number of PD members involved.) I'm not sold on the number, however what I do feel needs to be done is some sort of limitation on both sides, I too agree it's rediculous to have 5+ police cruisers in a pursuit line playing snake through-out the city, however due to my above point at times this cannot be avoided currently. Maybe an initial test for such a suggestion could be a limitation placed on how many people can rob a bank and how many PD units can respond to a bank robbery call?
  11. Are you sure it was the PD livery? SD has the same black and white, only the logos are different. They have more lax restrictions on use as far as I know.
  12. Feel free to send me the footage if you believe people are abusing the super. There are fairly strict regulations regarding usage. I've personally never seen/heard of someone going to 'personal calls/errands'. What you possibly witnessed was a training session where someone realised they needed food/water so they stopped to grab it? Would you expect them to head back to a precinct, park the super, get another cruiser, get their food, return to the precint, return the cruiser and then get the super back out again?
  13. Do you feel good about robbing people and winning shootouts? If you're going to talk trash and act like an idiot and create issues then yes, you're going to get more charges, that's on you, not on PD. I'm not claiming PD consists of RP gods by any means, there are situations where I have to speak with members to point out issues, but those are far more rare than the majority of criminals would like to think. Arresting some dude isn't why I play the game and I doubt it's why the majority of members of PD play. You'd have to join to find out but the key draw of PD in my opinion is the funny and wacky situations and the ability to have fun with a great group of people. I can concede that sometimes charges are sometimes placed differently by different officers, however if you committed a crime, why are you upset/surprised when you get charged and serve the time? Anyone who has these concerns/issues with PD, I'd advise you make a new character (or use a character with a limited criminal history) and apply for a ride-a-long to see how PD actually operates because it's going to be very different from how you are making it out to be.
  14. So next time a criminal is being pursued down that highway are they doing to weave in and out of the imaginary traffic? Can people stop trying to compare the server to real life every two seconds? The server attempts to imitate real life, it's not expected to be exactly the same. This situation has happened ONCE in the life of the server and from the video of the other side of the situation (those evading), they seemed to be having a laugh during the situation. If Brasco or CBullet wants to complain then they are more than welcome to but everyone seeing a clip and complaining on their behalf when they haven't even commented (as far as I am aware) is a joke and a waste of time.
