lupicek Posted June 21, 2024 Report Posted June 21, 2024 Hello, I don't know how exactly is the time of server restart planned and if its somehow important these exact times, that server restarts cause of update, but it would be very nice not to do it during the IC nights, last 4-5 planned restarts were during the night, when people are doing house robberies, those are by me the only things you can not pause during the process, you pay 20k and if server restarts, the house robbery is no longer active and then a lot of people need to deal with the refunds in which you get mostly returned only 20k and not stuff like crates, drills, etc... 1

It wouldn't be an issue if once the restart is completed we can resume the house robbery, but you get trapped inside, have to wait for an admin to TP you and the whole house cannot be robbed anymore. Having to then go through the refund process and having missed the opportunity to make more money from the house, and then having to wait another 3 hours to do a house robbery is just not the best thing.
SquirtleSquad Posted June 21, 2024 Report Posted June 21, 2024 While I understand this can be an annoyance, you can make a Refund Request for this to get your money back that you lost buying the contract. Unfortunately Server Restarts are either due to crashes that are unexpected, or when the Founders want to push an update up and it aligns with their time/availability. This is just my opinion.
Zion Willard Posted June 21, 2024 Report Posted June 21, 2024 It's unlikely that updates will be postponed for the benefit of one or two players doing house robberies. I think the best outcome is just more of a warning when updates are being rolled out, say 30m or so warning.
Ranger Posted June 23, 2024 Report Posted June 23, 2024 Like what Squirtle said, it is annoying, I can see this issue, agree with the issue, and can only show empathy towards it, but simply put and respectfully, we're not going to pause an update being pushed because people are trying to make 30k off a house robbery. Typically, the only time we've paused a restart or extended it is because a large illegal shipment was coming in, and those are a headache to refund and there are normally a large amount of players and money involved as well. We do our best to focus restarts/updates earlier in the day so it does not effect too many players, but sometimes it's unavoidable. If this happens, just make a refund request, we refund 90% of the ones that roll in that are made because of a restart killing off a house robbery; end of the day we only refund what was spent, we don't refund potential gains. To touch on your point about drills, crates, etc not being refunded; I can tell you now, every refund for a house robbery I've seen is simply "I was doing a house robbery and the server restarted", it's quite rare for people to include that information, so I'd advise you to do that in future refunds.
