  1. Thanks for the feedback guys. I see the point completely, though just thought it might be an idea to help keep things up to date on the forums. 1 particular post I read yesterday was someone asking if a property was still for sale and the former seller replying with someone under the terms of (sold straight away at that price. stop bumping) which to me was a little uncalled for since he simply still obviously hadn't done anything with the post to indicate the property was sold. If you can take the time to post an ad then surely you can take a second to edit the title and/or post and classify it sold. If something sells in ebay it generally disappears straight away, and this I guess is where my intentions were with the idea. Thanks again all. Enjoy!
  2. As the title suggests - why don't we reserve the advertising areas of the forums to members of Weazel? There are so many posts on there that either don't give enough info, or have never been updated once sold. Older unedited posts get bumped when someone simply asks if its still for sale. I would suggest that since your selling property in character then in order to create an advertisement you complete the majority of the task in exactly the same way. You would need to track down a Weazel team member in game and hand over advertising information through RP. Pics can be forward on the forums through messaging, though the advertisement itself is posted and managed by the Weazel team member. A in-game fee would apply as it would IRL as well based on the amount of time you'd like it advertised. Payments could be made with the same coding system the mechanics use for charging upgrades. In my time zone the server hosts around 60-90 players, and there isn't any shortage of Weazel members visiting public areas looking to advertise for people, so its easily still accessible, and in doing it this way when you click through the forums your looking at real time advertisements that are updated frequently. And if the seller doesn't contact Weazel to remove the ad then it expires after the advertising time frame anyway and is removed/archived.

  4. There's still back and forth banter here about who should have what, but ultimately the cops are meant to have whatever it takes to win. They are the law, they are government, they are responsible for keeping the city safe, so they ultimately have to have the equipment necessary to out-do any situation, and ultimately as a result are paid a lot more to do so since they risk their lives to do it. Some of you want to talk about cops losing their guns or jobs when they are shot/killed or robbed because that's what happens IRL, but if you want to call a spade a spade then your in prison for life for murder, or even attempted murder, but that isn't going to happen here (which is fine btw), so let it be. With regards to money - If PD makes way more money than being a crim then why is there more concern in this server for crims getting away with robberies when there would technically be more PD's than crims? And why would it be easier to be a crim than a civ? My point being more people would be PD than being crims. But that isn't the case because not everyone is cut out enough to be PD ooc. You need minimum hours on duty not to mention the knowledge/commitment of RP that's expected and many don't want to commit to either, hence its easier to be a crim. Finally - This is a game folks. And not a game to make money either. This server is for RP. I've been here for just under a year now and I've been a clean civ doing money transporter work until recently, and that made just enough money to buy an apartment and to own a Cognoscenti 55 and Dominator that I upgrade on every now and then. Money to me in this game is just about buying the things you need to move about the game (cars), have a place to store things (house), and buy my character the things it needs to live (food, water, etc), that's it. My purpose of being here is to engage with real people and RP, generally hoping for more than a 2 minute RP that just consists of (hands up, hands up, hands up! Get on your knees, get on your knees! Frisk search - accept, take everything and run/drive away). Maybe the suggestion and focus here shouldn't be about money or equipment, but rather the quality of RP that should be expected by all in robberies so it isn't so plain, boring and extremely quick. The only "worth wild" thing people should be looking for here is the RP, end of story.
  5. I don't agree, and honestly don't get it either. PD's, or any gov position really, IRL are paid the big bucks for what they do, end of story. All cops I know own nice cars and live in houses I can only dream of IRL. You choose to be a criminal in game and you think its hard to be rich? I've been a clean civ since day dot here, and I'm constantly pulled up and robbed for everything I have by crims so they can get an easy payday on top of whatever else they are earning. Its so damn bad that you just don't carry cash or inventory anymore. And 9 times out of 10 I'm pulled up by crims in sports cars or bikes that would easily flag me down if I tried out-running, so there's got to be good cash in what your doing. The fact that people say its not worth being a crim over trying to be a clean civ beats the hell outta me. Most gov jobs in server also require a lot of work with regards to the standards and practices they want for each player in order to be apart of it both IC and OOC. Its not just clock on, grab a car, and away you go earning the big bucks.
  6. The car lots are a good place to see what's out there and for mixing/socialising (much like the bank). What if they were NCZ's so people can interact and have the time to look over what's on offer? Players trying to sell their cars can even interact there with potential buyers, etc. There are plenty of opportunities for thieves to rob people on the roads still, so its not missed opportunities by doing this. If not both, why not consider the low end at least since this is usually occupied with newer members trying to find their first deals? I think if we can have more social, safe places for clean civilians to hang out and be around criminals, etc, then there's the chance some gangs might get to know these people having done deals with them with their vehicles to potentially build side relationships that will help throughout the game. There's a lot of posts on here about there not being enough reason to be a clean citizen and that its just easier to go down the criminal road with your characters providing you don't get caught often. Well lets look at something like this to help change that?
  7. That's a real bugger. At least its not an issue on my end.
  8. Experiencing the same issue now too. I have relogged many times and went back to work, and as soon as I get this lady luck atm I'm buggered because I cant refuse/cancel that particular job, and if I take the truck back and return it then respawn, it just tells me to go to the same place again. Did you end up find a solution @JDBooker
  9. I don't believe all players would feel this way though. I certainly don't. I'd apply and do this job hands down. I'd prefer do a clean citizen job like this and RP with real people rather than be a postal worker or money transporter, working by myself, and only RP'ing with real people when I'm being robbed. How would this role suggestion be any different than being stationary at Bayview of LSC working on vehicles that drive in? I believe people don't enjoy the impound lot RP because of the wait as you said. If people are employed to that then ideally the wait isnt there. PO's don't always want to do it (as I noted in my opening comments) because they'd rather do some real police work.
  10. I'd agree with your idea, though I think the issue and current reason would be that PD won't release a vehicle with outstanding warrants or fines, and to see this you need to be a PO/have PD affiliation to do the check. That would be the only reason I could see preventing Bayview and LSC from being able to do it.
  11. I'd be more than happy to introduce the suggestion in game (and fully intend to if its do-able). At this stage I just wanted to put out the idea to see if its something people would want to play and figured there may be a possibility that the role could leave PD for Government or another faction that would require server changes/permissions, so I've suggested it here on an OOC platform so any issues I'm not aware of that could prevent the idea can be discussed/explained for a better understanding.
  12. That's good to hear. I'm still recommending that PO's still have the power to tow and release vehicles, just create jobs that allow applicants that may not necessarily pass PD FTP for police operations, or even don't want to be a PO, but still qualify and pass enough to fulfill that role to be able to have good RP situations that they can ultimately grow from. Far too many people are frustrated with lack of attention to the impound lot throughout various time zones, and like you said, doing impound work is easy and your happy to do it providing nothing else is going on. PO should be focusing more on fighting crime. Instead of working at the impound lot, why not set up speed traps when its quiet, or random breath testing, etc. Things that RL PO's would do when its quiet. I think if there are staff authorised and focused purely on Towing and the Impound Yard than we'd have more tow trucks on the road removing unlawful parked cars to keep the NCZ's clean. This may also encourage more people to actually buy parking tickets. Too many cars litter the NCZ's, and even on the middle of the roads after arrests, deaths, robberies, or stolen cars that have ran out of fuel/broke down/crashed and dumped. I would honestly put a lot of my time to making this work (and even training new people to do it if I was deemed suitable), and I think it would answer a lot of issues. It's clean citizen RP that isn't just playing cops and robbers.
  13. Hey all, Basically as the title says - I've spent a hell of a lot of time around Mission Row waiting to do a Ride Along and I cant tell you how many people would show up completely frustrated at the fact that no PO's are around to service the impound lot. Now I was a Cadet late last year before a passing in my immediately family, and I know that Cadet's were allows to service the Impound Lot at that stage providing they were given permission, which for me was impossible at the time because there were not any officers online in my timezone ranked high enough to grant me the permission. Not my point though. My point is why don't you look at hiring a division within PD, or the Government, just to service the Impound Lot/Towing since it gets so much traffic so consistently? Becoming a PO or EMT is ALOT of work, and some people either don't get it, or don't want to get it, but to still be a part of it in some capacity (even at a lower pay grade) so you can still engage in RP with all kinds of characters would still be something I think people would apply to do. I play a good 4-6+ hours 6 days a week and I certainly would apply and would be quite happy to move around inside the impound lot on duty RP'ing with everyone to retrieve their vehicles, as well as get called out to tow jobs. And I know for a fact that some (certainly not all, and maybe not even a majority) of PO's would brush off going to the impound lot, or driving the tow truck, in order to respond to a more interesting crime, so my suggestion is palm off those roles. PO's can still do them of course, just branch it out to people who just want to do that to put more people in that area. Cheers for your time and any input.
  14. +1 for sure. The suggestion from @Aldarine is the perfect way to do it, that way the details arent changing by the second on your screen.
  15. Completely agree with the comments above from @Copperhorse Question though... Why can't we considering completely going IC with the idea of PD changing the way fraud is dealt with? If you kill a cop and evade your character becomes marked. ANY cop that pulls up that player for anything even months after the fact can see that they are wanted and charge them from that point. Why cant people being scammed be advised to RP the issue with PD as they normally would, and somehow since Government is still growing, the scammer be marked and should that person be found by police at any time then they are arrested and charged with the value dollar amount, no different than if police arrest people IRL and they are sent before the courts who are then ordered to pay that money back? At the end of the day criminals won't like it, but much like anything else - if your willing to commit the crime(s), then be prepared to be heavily fined for all the value of the crime if your EVER caught. A wire transfer of funds would give the victim full details of who they are paying, so this info can be used to report the person.
  16. -1 Big time
  17. I get it, I really do. But unless your the criminal looking to drive/ride around robbing people there isnt much fun in the same thing happening time and time again. Its the same RP situation every single time that only lasts a matter of seconds and you lose everything. IRL situations your not out on the street running or driving flat out every time you see someone either.
  18. I see your point, though playing as a clean citizen if I see someone I immediately think I have to hide because very rarely (unless in NCZ) will a person just pass me by and let me be, or stop to just ask how I'm doing. Every car that passes by literally see's me in my vulnerable, slow work truck, makes the U-turn and holds me up. Currently in game its real simple - If a criminal see's a car or person they are easy pickings. And when I'm in my normal car I think I could easily blend in with AI traffic/cars. I also think that criminal characters may be against the idea of AI for the simple reason that real players would be harder to find, and thats my point exactly! Why should it be easy? When I get robbed I don't think "lets by a gun and get revenge". And even if I purchased a gun I'm not driving around with it armed ready for the next person I see like criminals do. I'm not actively looking for someone, therefore when they pull me up they have the gun already drawn and ready. The immediate demands are to pull over and/or get out of the vehicle. Server rules puts me in the immediate disadvantage. I lose that situation too. That criminal just got all my stuff and that's it. They win. What did I get out of the situation? Hope you see my point here too.
  19. The more I think about the more I believe this might be a good option. When you watch those vids civilians are driving to speed limits and following road rules whether they are criminals or not (in most cases), and that's because they don't know who the real players are, and visa versa. If I drive to the speed limits and road rules in this server I don't stand a chance. Criminals can commit crimes, evade police, and disguise within normal traffic in attempts of going undetected. AI protection provides less robberies which also allows the PD to setup proper speed traps, etc as well, but like you said, are there issues preventing this?
  20. I'm not necessarily requesting those jobs be protected, but in reality if you went to work for any of those jobs IRL you would be provided that equipment to complete the duties. I would even look at it differently if the job came up with an address instead, because much like anything else in game, you either have a GPS and find it that way or you don't and find it yourself, but it doesn't give you that option either. You jump in and it says the job is marked, and unless you have the GPS you've got nothing. There are ways to keep safe, but in my opinion those ways are unrealistic because you've basically got to drive like a bat-out-of-hell from one place to the next, which wouldn't happen IRL either. But thanks for your feedback though.
  21. I'm neutral on this one. I've chosen the "honest working citizen" approach for my time on this server, and man its hard to keep it that way when you do jobs that are easy targets to criminals. The money that can be made as a criminal in 1 sitting if your not caught for anything by far outweighs what a normal citizen will make driving a truck or a cab, so I think its a risk you take to get involved with it. On the other hand PD earn a good chunk of money and have everything provided, but I guess so they should. Maybe an approach would be to consider the option that if you die you can't return to duties for a certain period of time? You can watch countless youtube videos of other servers that have AI traffic to disguise/protect honest civilians, but on the other hand can also help criminals to out-run authority and try to mingle in with the AI in attempts to go undetected and get away with it. AI is b.s., but perhaps is a small amount of AI introduced into the game might not be a bad idea for both parties?
  22. Hey all, This is a branch off of a post I recently responded to. Can we look/consider the idea of the GPS/Maps functions being locked and available within company owned vehicles for the basic jobs available in game? (money transporter, postal, truck driver, etc). A good majority of people doing these jobs are within the 500XP to 10000XP range (some people like myself still do them) and are easy targets to robberies due to the vehicle speeds (I played AEST between 5pm and 10pm last night and was robbed 4 times in the money transporter vehicle, and that's only with between 70-90 people in the server at that time). In some cases having to re-buy these items (along with the phone/battery that's likely stolen as well) that many times nearly renders the job pointless financially. The only way you'll get these jobs done is to have the GPS/Maps to know where your jobs are at. I suggest they are locked within the vehicle, so they will only work when the player climbs in (not standing outside), and can't be removed from the vehicles inventory. I don't think its an unrealistic thing to do either because if you were a worker in any of these jobs you wouldn't be required to purchase this equipment to do the job unless you were contracting your own vehicle. I understand there's another thread with people asking it be removed completely and linked to a phone app, but if that doesn't happen can we at least consider this?
  23. Having thought more about my statement above; Another suggestion on the wages for money transporter, postal, etc would be for the GPS & Maps to be fixed in the company vehicles. I've worked as a parcel courier before and I certainly didn't show up for work requiring my own GPS or maps to drive their vehicles and make their deliveries. This suggestion would eliminate my thoughts on wage rises for these jobs because of the easy inventory theft issue.
  24. I don't agree everything needs to be increased, as I know there's real good money to make with factions (in particular), though I think certain points are valid. I think the normal jobs (ie money transporter, postal, bus driver, etc) should be increased as most people doing these jobs are newer people just trying to find their feet in the game. They are also an easier/slower target for robberies, hence lose their inventory a lot more often. Combine that with the fact that GPS and Maps are now necessary to these jobs, its certainly an expensive exercise to re-buy all the time. I think the price on house, although may be tough, is really a roll-of-the-dice game because I've seen countless listings asking $300k for example, only to be offered, and accepted, a lesser amount (this can of course go the other way too), so I think that adds some realism to everything. My Wife and I purchased a house not long ago that took us 2 yrs to find. Same applies in game. If you search and negotiate enough you'll find what your looking for.
  25. Thank you very much. It's been awhile since I played sorry. I will start searching around for the info needed to purchase the maps and go from there. Cheers!
